"More Than I Bargained For"
At first light, I noticed that this cigar had a very toasted flavor to it. Smoking it down about 1/4 of the way I noticed that it developed a slightly creamy finish. Halfway through, the flavor changed and it tasted like I was smoking a wooden cedar plank. It was not very enjoyable. The smoke became somewhat harsh and the cedar flavor/sensation was overpowering. The flavor eventually mellowed out, but it was just not what I expected. The wrapper was very oily, which was nice to see. The filler was very tight, but the cigar had a good draw. Unfortunately, the cigar had a very uneven burn and I had to try to even it out several times. The cigar only burned evenly for about the first inch. When the cigar was about 2/3 smoked, it randomly went out. I was a bit peeved since I was actively smoking it. I had to actively work to keep the cigar from going out from then on. Then, to top it off, the cigar began to burn very hot for the last 2" or so. It was so hot that I just put it in the ashtray and walked away. The cigar was VERY smokey, and the smoke was a very thick white smoke. More smokey than the typical cigar. The only upside I had to the cigar, aside from the appearance, was the 2 hour smoke time, which is to be expected with a Churchill, but it was still nice to have it last that long. If you like this cigar, you'll definitely get your money's worth. Unfortunately, I hated it. This was recommended to me, along with the Ashton Maduros. I'll try the Maduros, but never again will I touch another Ashton Classic.

"Excellent, mild cigar"
If mild isn't your thing, you might not love this one. On the other hand, if you like mild cigars or would like to introduce someone into cigars, this is the perfect one to start with. Creamy, sweet, almost no spice, not too heavy, very light flavor with hints of cedar and toasted nuts, even coffee with cream. This is just an excellent smoke all around. Didn't want this one to end.

"A Mild Cigar A Cigar Lover Can Love"
Mild can be bland to a person who smokes often. I am glad to say after attending Cigar Club recently I now have found a mild smoke that anyone who smokes regularly can appreciate.
The Ashton Classic Churchill is sweet and has just a bit of spice to tingle the tongue. Nice! The appearance is topnotch with one of the prettiest Connecticut Shade wrappers I've seen. My particular cigar was well hydrated, especially in the midst of an Alabama summer which is jungle like in humidity. No bother though as it lit easy and continued to burn well for just over an hour. No complaints here, a mild cigar a cigar lover can love!

"ONE OF MY FAVORITE LIGHTS"
I love an Ashton as a morning smoke. They look beautiful and smell excellent. The light creamy flavor reamins all the way through. I always have a few in my humidor. If you like these try the Avo line, which are just as good for light ones.

"Nice Smoke"
This one is great for a nice summer night on the deck or a round of golf. Nice start and has good flavor throughout. Burns even and will last hours. Always have a couple in the humidor.

"morning cigar"
I'm glad I lit this in the AM because it would not have done the job at night after a meal. But as a morning cigar - excellent. Just enough flavor, just enough smoke. A hint of spice on the palate with an ever-present sweetness. Pleasurable and mild.

"high quality smoke"
This is a well built, mild cigar. Excellent construction, creamy, sweet grass and a very light cedar flavor. This is an easy cigar to like and purchased with the Tiderbox 20% discount an excellent value.

"Damn Good Smoke"
Very nice mild cigar. Mice appearance and pre-light aroma. Burn was razor sharp. and draw was a little on the tight side. As far as the flavors...very nice. Creamy, with a hint of cinnamon. About half-way through, there was a distinct nuttiness to the flavor, but never losing that rich creaminess (almost the taste of sweet cream). Definitely a nice mild cigar, and one I would smoke every morning if not for the price tag. Well worth the $8.00

"Inconsistant"
I've smoked these for over five years. They used to be an excellent smoke, however, I have since stopped purchasing Ashton classics. Inconsistant quality - tended to canoe even though properly lit (but not always). Mild flavor that was sometimes harsh, and sometimes not. Most of them had a good draw, but there were many that were terrible. As they years went on, the tobacco started leaving a rank aftertaste on my palete, and hence my departure from Ashtons.

"My favorite mild cigar"
It is a smooth, creamy and consistent cigar. I have found that in order to get the best flavor from this stick, it needs a little more humidity than my other cigars. It is worth having a seperate humidor for these babies.

"Terrible!"
Awful! Smoked a 5-pack of these and all were the same - jagged burn and charcoal-like taste. I had to relight the damned things probably 30 times per cigar! And please, don't blame it on my humidor. It keeps humidity around 71 % and all my other cigars smoke fine after many months of storage. Ashton's Cabinet Selection #8 is just as awful, only with the added insult of paying $4 more per cigar. Ashton's Churchill would be a waste of 50 cents, let alone the $7 apiece I forked over for the dog turds!

"Grand."
Probably the best mild smoke I have ever experienced, reminiscent of coffee with extra creamer with a side of hazelnut, all served on a wooden dish 🙂 Ash was perfect, and most imporantly, the 'gar stayed together throughout the hour and a half, 7.5 inch smoke. Highly recommended.

"The Monarch of Mild"
Lit 1 up @8:30 in the Mexican sun right after a nice breakfast. 2 hrs of bliss. This is an excellent reminder that an outstanding mild 'gar can be very flavorful. Much complexity & creaminess. Definitely NOT bland & boring.

"one of the finest mild cigars"
this cigar was great, i would say that this, montecristo white and K. Hansotia Symphony are the three best mild cigars on the market today. It's costruction and draw are perfect, and the mild flavor is superb. some other reviewers complain about the price which i dont understand for a churchill as large as this one 7.5x52 i think its a great value. if price is your biggest concern and you can't taste a big difference between this and an excaliber then i guess you shouldn't spend the money on this one, but if you appreciate a cigar that is exactly what a great mild cigar should be then this is worth the coin.

"Nice & smooth"
This is one of the best mild churchills available. Construction is very good. The draw is effortless with an even burn. The golden shade wrapper looks beautiful and feels smooth. The flavor is a mix of nuts, coconut and cream. As good as it is though the Excalibur #1 tastes better and it's a much better value.

Smooth and spicy flavor right from the start that got a bit complex in the middle. Great draw. Mine had some minor burning problems mid-way through that corrected itself just fine... guy I was smoking with, his burned perfect. Enjoyable

"S'mores!"
My son came running down the stairs while I was smoking one of these and asked, "Who's making S'mores?" Very delicious, but more grown up. Slightly sweet spice, bready, and smoooth. Burn and draw ideal for a relaxing, lazy smoke.

Enjoyed this masterpiece at Roy's at Spanish Bay, after playing 18 holes at the Links at Spanish Bay, while sipping a glass of Graham's 20 year port. This cigar burned so smoothly, that I discarded my ash only once during the entire 30 minutes.
