The cigar seemed to come apart in my hands, as the wrapper was somehow loose around the tobbacoo. Other than that, this is definitely one of the best i've had in terms of falvour. A superiour cigar.

Great smoke! As of 04/00 I have smoked four from a box dated 08/98. All were very rich and full flavored. Perfect draw and burn with a light grey ash. The finish was rich and spicy with a hint of floral. Damn great smoke!

I do believe the ash was on Viagra, the wrapper sort of blew up towards the end but this cigar has been in hibernation for 3 years so it may have been a hmidor issue. The females in my presence that evening sort of summed it up when they said, "your ciga

Great cuban smoke. My first cuban experience, and I will try to keep coming back for more and more. Medium body & after-taste, with incrediable consistency from start to finish. The term 'creamy' applies to these cigars.

"No nuances"
From a box Dec. '06. These are great cigars, but I have not gotten the nuances and subtle flavors that others have described. Not to say that these aren't very good, but I just don't get the floral and cinnamon or vanilla tastes. Draw is a little tight, burn is good. Looks good with a slight box press. I always nub these cigars, but I can't say that any one flavor jumps out at me. I guess they are truly balanced taste-wise.

"very nice"
Box reads FEB 2006. Just got a box of these in today and smoked on out on the front porch with a cup of chocolate raspberry coffee. I've read all the reviews from here and other sites and one thing I was looking for was a "fruity" flavor that I keep reading about. Never did get that out of this cigar but what I did get was a very pleasant hint of floral accents and peppery taste which I really liked. The power is not quite there to having your head spin after getting up but rather more of a medium bodied cigar that let the earthy floral flavors take over. Very smooth and aromatic.......not aromatic like good pipe tobacco but for a cigar it was nice. One thing that was disappointed with was the construction. It was fair overall but right away it had a very drive feeling and came unraveled rather quickly. I seem to only experience this was cuban's. Cohiba, Montecristo and other R&J cubans have done the same. All of my Arturo Fuente non cuban's have never had this problem. Its nothing a little saliva couldn't take care of but still annoyed me. Draw was one of the best, very loose and easy to smoke. Plenty of thick, lush smoke but I've had better amounts of smoke from non cuban's. Burn was a little off but evened up 1/2 way through. Overall I recommend it. Try a stick first and see what you think.

"OK"
This was a good medium-bodied cigar, but the draw was so tight that it was hard to really get the true flavor. Cedar and vanilla came through, but whenever I would take a draw poker to it, the flavor would open up enough for just a puff or two to let me know I was not getting the full experience. I'll probably try one again sometime as this one left me quite disappointed.

I smoked quite a few of these lovely cigars the past few days and every one of them(bought in singles, you never know with cubans, sorry!) was an absolute delight. Nice construction, drawing just fine, burn was a bit off but not much .I found these medium bodied, smooth and cool up to the end, creamy and woody with a touch of sweetness

Creamy, spicey cigar. Some mild floral tastes also. A bit of cocoa as well. This is an elegant brand to say the least . And the #4 is a top notch example of Cuban prominence in the cigar world. Cubans still reign as the King of cigars.

"Terrific Robusto!"
I love the Robusto size, can't believe that I have never tried one of these before. Perfect construction, drew and burned perfect despite some windy conditions. Great medium bodied coffee flavors, without a lot of spice. This one was from '06 and was already smoking great, so it would be a great cigar to pick up a cab and see what a few years do to them...think I will do just that!

"Another great R & J"
Pick up an SLB of 50 & am not disapointed at all. I've found that R & J's are nothing but dependable & this one was par for the course. Great presentation & construction, great burn, great mild-med flavor, creamy with a not to overpowering spice & hints of cocoa/coffee. I tend to smoke more cigars in the PC size range, but I love Robustos & this is one of the reasons why! Cant' wait to see how these taste with some age on them.

"Smooooth, A+ construction, a top RyJ."
Romeo y Julieta has the reputation of mild to medium bodied cigars with beautiful and elegant spice- and flowery tastes. This stokey is no exception, but on top of that, it has the thickness and power to actually bring pleasure to hardened smokers of fullbodied cubans. I've smoken' these babies both as afterdinner companions and as late evening smokes with a good movie. They're divine in taste almost like the churchill, and perhaps even better contructed. A good 70 minutes worth of creamy, flowery, mild/elegant spices, chocolate and coffee flavored smoke - and btw. lots of it: Like other robustos, it provides volumes of thick tasty smoke. The draw is always good, and the burn is satisfactory. By that I mean that it doesn't always burn perfectly rounded all the way, but I've never had any serious problems. All in all, one of my favorite RyJs, one of my favorite robustos, and on my top 10 list over cuban cigars(limitadas excl.). Tip: Try it accompanied by a Château Fontpinot XO cognac from Frapin(France).

"Smooth, Mellow, Delicious!"
Smooth, Mellow, Delicious! Wish I had factory and date code for you but box went into fireplace awhile ago... Despite dark brown, oily wrappers, these were a little too green and tangy upon receipt, but with 4 months in the humi they turned out to be so much better than I'd ever anticipated. I pair cigars with what I've eaten and am drinking and for those medium bodied dinners with similar beverage these just fill the bill perfectly. Creamy, smooth, great draw with nice medium/mild flavor profile - gonna be a staple for me to have on hand. Hour long creamy delight.

"One of my favorite Cubans"
I travel a lot down in Latin America and always make a point to purchase Cubans. I have smoked the majority of the big Cuban brands and find Romeo very please. Full of flavor and great construction. As I have mentioned in previous reviews I like my Cubans w/smaller ring guage, but I bought anyway. It had some good spice and a medium finish. I would like to get some more. To date I have only smoked a handfull of these.

I favor the robusto size, and the RyJ Habano line is one of my favorites so i was really 'hopeing' i woud like this smoke. I did. i really did. It was full, rich and mature. Similar to the Churchill but a little bit more spicey and peppery. There was bite but it remained cool. nice smoke, it got the nod!

"I'll be darn!"
I have smoked many cigars and in all honesty I bought a box of these because they were on special at a decent price. My box (NRG May 05) arrived about 2 weeks ago and I put them away until tonight when I unleashed the beast. I think this is 1 underrated smoke and I loved it! Creamy for the first 1/2, spicy in the middle, and I'll be darned if I didnt get a distinct aroma of green onion at the end! Only draw back, I noticed some in the box were still a little green. Ive only smoked the 1 so far and can't wait to get some age on the rest of them.

"Finally, a good RyJ beyond the Chruchill"
Although I find the RyJ products pretty good, with the exception of the Chruchill which is ...exceptional, I am not a fan of the brand. This robusto could change my mind: smoked after a copious dinner, with smoked meat and two bottles of wine , the cigar performed very well, with strong flavours finally worth the brand reputation, cocoa, leather, earth. In some sort, a smaller RyJ Churchill, with the same flavours and the same not overwhelming but very pleasing strength. An excellent cigar, all in all.

"Free Cigars are always good!"
What a great gift. This wonderful cigar had a nice light earthy core that was very palatable and not harsh at all. It had a nice subtle spice about it too. It wasn’t quite as smooth as the Pinar P3000, but it was still a very nice medium bodied smoke. The ash was stacked, dark grey and very sturdy. It only had to be ashed twice the entire smoke. The draw was absolutely perfect and the smoke was thick and full of flavor. The burn was pretty even, but it began to burn towards the middle during the last third. The finish was very relaxing. It’s hard to beat a cigar that is given to you, especially when the cigar is from that oh so close yet oh so unreachable island of Cuba. I am always weary of Cubans, but this was definitely genuine. I would definitely smoke one of these again, especially if it was a gift.

"Something is missing"
First off, this coco colored smoke had a nice wrapper, EXCEPT that there were three prominent water marks right below the cap. I know they don't affect the flavor, but they really turned me off. This cigar was fairly refined with a creamy woody flavor, with slight hints of hot spice. Unfortunatly, the spice never really surfaced and this cigar remained a simple little smoke, that I would have expected from something thinner, like a petite corona. The burn was crooked throughout the smoke. There are better Cubans and nonCubans for this price.
