"Cameroon Heaven"
What can you say about a Fuente cigar. The father son duo has done it again. The Classic sized figurado is one of the smoothest cigars I've had and I always make sure I have plenty in the humidor (since I smoke at least 2 a week).

I have now hooked at least 3 colleagues on to them.

"what a stogie!!!!"
This cigar was by far the best constructed I've seen to this point. It lit well and burned perfectly even with a full draw through the entire cigar. Just watching the evenness of the white ash was remarkable. The flavor was mild to medium bodied and was consistent throughout. What a great cigar! One of the best I've had.

had a bunch of heminways, most pretty much are the same for me.
here there's even color, small veins, uniform. draw a little loose, perfect burn, light-grey ash.
tastes of barnyard and light woods, with hints of licorice and pecan. dry aftertaste of caramel in first half, greens in second half.
all in all a very good cigar

"very nice"
I bought this because so far, smoke for smoke, fuente has not let me down yet. I've seen the reviews on the hemingway line and kept my eye out for them. On one of my long distance runs for work, I found a cigar shop I had never visited before. I walked in and saw these, short stories, and best seller's. This size was what I thought would give me a good indication of what they taste like. I think I paid 5.25 for it. I let it sit for two weeks although I think it was at the shop for some time. Now at this point, I believe I have tried a good range of cigars to tell good from bad. I lit this one up in the morning for about 40 minutes and put it out. After work, it was waiting for me. I relit it and was surprised, it still tasted as good as the first half. It was very mellow with a long finish. I didn't pick out a ton of individual flavors but usually I can only do that if I'm sitting in solitude and really analyzing the thing. I can say that for the price, it was very good. I will definitely put this in my rotation and turn others on to it. I'm new to the whole cameroon wrapper as I prefer maduros but whatever the sweet taste was due to, it was real nice. It got a little hot at the end however I may have been pullin' on it a little hard 'cause I wanted to finish it before I got home. It was almost as good as the aurora cien anos corona but half the price. Keep it up fuente! Oh yeah, there was a downside. The wrapper came unwraveled in one part but a wet tongue fixed that!

Yes i'm shouting!! But I loved this cigar. The classic Fuente construction and superb flavor. This cigar has a wonderful flavor to it. sweet, spicey with a bundh of other flavors in there. This is a complex smoke with perfect construction. Fuente diffently does not rush the hands of time. This is a mellow and perfectly aged smoke that is one of the most relaxing out there. Excellent.

Wonderful flavor from the Cameroon wrapper on these bad boys. I love the shape and the experience of these--something about them awakens inspiration and empowers you. Had some burn issues but corrected them easily as I drank a cup of Montecristo coffee with it. A wonderful experience--if you havent tried it yet, make it a priority. Not everyones cup of tea but theres no denying the quality in construction and flavor.

This was one of the best tasting smokes that I have ever had. The flavor of anise floated in and out, while a spicey finish remain through the entire hour plus smoke. The draw was easy and the burn was sharp. As soon as I find some more of these sticks, I will be adding them to my humidor.

"Excellent in every way"
A long and well-made perfecto with a shiny wrapper; all the Hemingway perfectos are nice to look at, and this one is no exception. It's easy to light as expected. As is with almost all perfectos the burn starts a bit uneven, but it quickly straightens out and never needs a correction. The draw is easy and full with a generous amount of smoke. Ash is well-formed and hangs for a while. This smoke has a unique taste consisting of woody and honey graham cracker flavors. Later becomes nuttier and creamier, and the draw becomes even better producing even more smoke. An excellent all-around cigar; if you can find in the $7-$8 range, it's also an excellent value.

This line gets a lot of hype...so it is difficult to live up to the buzz. I have bought multiple boxes of this smoke and every one has been consistently brilliant. The mellow, slightly sweet flavor never disappoints...in fact, it is so good that it may be a victim of it's own greatness. Life is about opportunities...just sit back and enjoy 1 1/2 hours of pure bliss with your favorite beverage. Bravo, Fuente...

"Truly a classic"
As I left work this afternoon for the ride home in the emergency backup
convertible, it was a beautiful sunny day in the 70s here in NorCal. I
dropped the top, fired up the CD player, (Toad the Wet Sprocket), and
fished around for the cigar case in my briefcase.

Voila! There it was. A Hemingway Classic I picked up at South Coast
Plaza in '95 while doing some Christmas shopping in the Southland.
Mwahaha! This cigar was to be sacrificed to the flame, at last!

What a specimen. The cello was more yellow than Edward G. Robinson's
teeth, and the Cameroon wrapper fairly glowed with its oily promise of
tastacular delight. As I slid the cello off the stick, the ring slid
along with it, loose as a vegetarian's stool the day after bingeing at
an all-you-can-eat salad bar.

I clipped it, and the remaining cap stayed intact, much like my first,
rather frustrating, high school sweetheart. Pre-light draw was tight
(see above) and flavorful (also see above), with a dusky spiciness that
testified to the care with which the cigar was lovingly aged.

First puff was sublime. Building from the aforementioned tightness, as
the foot caught the draw loosened appreciably and allowed the delightful
medium to light smoke to flow freely. Marvelous, complex flavors burst
forth and cavorted on my taste buds. The ash was light and solid, and
grew to an amazing length, especially given the turbulence inside the
cockpit of my chariot.

The flavor rapidly built as I smoked this beauty down to the nub.
Little traffic, perhaps due to the spring school holiday, meant that the
miles rolled by quickly. The beautiful weather and lush green
California hills were a perfect counterpoint to this sublime sacrifice
to the tobacco gods. By the time I rolled around the corner to home,
the cigar had gone through several metamorphoses and finally ended up a
powerful and full flavored spicemeister that made my tongue tingle like
that special feeling you got while climbing the rope in gym class.

Thanks Carlos and family for the treat. And thanks to mother nature for
the graphic display of planetary perfection that today exemplified.

Perfect in every respect except one: the flavor profile is not very interesting. But for a medium body/strength cigar with a slightly sweet taste that will burn for an hour or more, these can't be beat. It may be cliche, but they really do burn better after 6 months to a year in the humidor.

"let em age and then look out--whoopass"
The last time I reviewed this cigar I said it was not good and aging would probably not improve it. Well I could not have been more wrong. I smoked a stick that had been aging for almost a year and a half and oh boy what a smoke. Sweet, smooth, full bodied, rich, nutty, balanced . . . I just can't say enough. I really can't believe aging can make such a difference but in this cigar it does. Needless to say I went out and bought a whole box and put them aside for next year.

"Great ISOM Alternative"
I love these things. One of the best features is the figurado tip which is so easy to light. Other than that, to me, it's basically a Churchill.

Sweet, consistent flavor--not as sweet as a Short Story. Rich but smooth, with a little spice. Stays mild way down the stick. Great draw. Very consistent. I've never had a bad one.

One minor complaint: the Cubans beat this stick in complexity. The Classic's taste is not complex, and it doesn't change much as it burns.

Better than a Don Carlos, if you ask me.

"For Pure Enjoyment"
It has been several years since I smoked a Hemingway cigar. Some of the people I smoke cigars with were less than thrilled with their last try at this pricey smoke. So I bought a 5 pack a few months ago and tonight I tried one. A beautiful looking smoke that feels great in the hand. A mellow start, which becomes medium flavored with a nutty taste that I found to be great. A toasty cigar which delivers a steady solid enjoyable smoking experience. The draw was a little tight to start and I kept waiting for it to open up to a full flavored knock-out smoke, but this isn't a powerhouse, just an excellent medium range cigar that has a good medly of flavor packed in a beautiful package. The buzz factor is low, yet the enjoyment factor is much higher than a lot of the cigars on the market today.

This one was a bit pricey, but several of the other Hemingways have been so good, and this one name told me to buy it. I got 2 at $9/ea. The overall construction was excellent, the burn and ash .. superb. As for the flavor, a bit mild for my liking, but as it burned down, I definitely enjoye it much more. Had a nice woodsy flavor with a hint of spice. Give this one a chance, it was a slow starter, but once it got going, you can put it down... 🙂

So I went to the store and bought three, one to smoke and two to age. Well I wish I hadn't. shape and construction was good, as was the draw but flavor was flat, leathery and woody. "Good Smoke"
I just go through smoking one of these. This is another cigar from my spending spree at the local cigar shop. Let me start by saying this is the first of the Hemingway line I have tried. What a great looking cigar, a dark rich wrapper, and the Figuardo shape. I have heard so much about these; I couldn’t wait to smoke it. I didn’t particularly care for the construction of the cap, the rest of the cigar looked and felt great. The draw was good, unlit and lit. The only problem I had with this cigar is that it canoed on me immediately. It worked itself after the first 2 inches, after that it burned flat even the rest of the cigar. The ash was a great dark gray in color and kept holding for about an inch and a half each time. The taste had definitely a woody flavor and was very smooth medium bodied for the first three quarters. The finish was completely different, it became spicy and more full bodied, a great finish. One thing I really like a about this is cigar was the aroma. I ran outside to grab some thing from my vehicle and when I came back inside I couldn’t believe the great aroma coming from all the smoke. I paid $10.00 for the Classic, a little pricey but I think it was worth it. BOTTOM LINE: Very good smoke, meticulous construction, great taste, a little too expensive to be an everyday smoke. Maybe I will come into some money and be able to smoke these all the time.

I found the Hemingway lived up to an article in the Tampa Tribune as being the best cigar for under $10.00.

A light bodied smoke of very little complexity. Good draw and burn with that wonderful "Fuente Aroma". Mild cedary finish. Not nearly in the same league as the "Signature".
