"A step above..."
Def. a flavor bomb similar to the Short Story with the exception of a fuller body, great with rum or cognac, straight. Nice balance of sweet/spicey.

"Good Go-To Smoke"
The woody, cedary taste starts off and finiished from moderate to medium. Great burn, that is consistent from one fabulous cigar to the next.

"DA BEST"
From the start No. 3 melts in your mouth. It has a sweet spicy flavor to it. Burns really smooth and even. No.3 last about 45 minutes to an hour of pure smoking enjoyment. I love this Cigar and it is my favorite smoke....

"No.3 is a WINNER"
Don Carlos No.3 starts off really bold and spicy. As you settle into this smoke it simple blows you away. Although the cigar is small it packs quite a punch. You will be able to smoke this beauty for about 45 minutes to an hour. No.3 goes really good with coffee or a nice glass of cognac. I love No.3 and it is my favorite smoke

"solid smoke"
I really enjoyed this cigar. Started off spicy hot and woody, but not bitter, then mellowed quickly to a toasty tobacco flavor with a hint of leather and spicyness. Great construction, draw and burn, and a classic appearance make this a very solid medium-strength smoke. A very enjoyable smoking experience all the way down.

"Sweet cigar"
I loved the robusto.. Then I got a box of the 3s. I will keep a box on hand all the time if I can. Really good smoke for those long weekends. Try one you will love it.

"Could be my new daily cigar"
I really love this cigar. Its not overpriced and its an easy smoke. I've been making it a habit to smoke one on my way to work each morning. The burn is incredibly even and it draws well. The construction is very good and the blend is smooth.

"Smooth Smoke"
This is a smooth Cigar. It is on the mild side of medium. Tasted like the regular line, just has a cooler name.

"Not a Short Story, But a Close Second"
Great smoke with complex flavors that are OpusXish. Great 40 mins.

"Great smoke, but it fell apart on me!"
I really enjoyed the flavor of this cigar, but the construction of the one I recieved was poor. The wrapper started to come apart about 2/3rds of the way through the cigar.

"Smooth, Shorter Smoke"
As the days turn cooler, more of my shorter sticks are meeting the lighter! This one is a nice 45 minute smoke. Even burn, smooth and spicy draw. Smoke 'em to the nub if you can.

"No. 3 could be a number 1"
Pleasently sastisfied by the smoke of a Don Carlos No. 3. When my local shop is out of the Hemingway Short Stories, I can rely on this cigar as a delightful back up. I've never had abad burn with one of these.

"Not much different from regular line"
I have to admit, the Don Carlos really isn't much different from the regular AF cigars--just a little bit stronger. Not that that is a bad thing, but I am only a realy fan of the Hemingway line (haven't tried Opus yet). The regular AF (as well as the sun grown) and this one just suffer from too mild and uneventful of a taste. Don't get me wrong the wrapper is nice, the smoke is nice and construction is good, but this cigar just doesn't do it for me; it just doesn't have anything to remember it by. Go for the Hemingways, that is AF's best.

"Upper Average"
Beautiful construction. Great burn and draw as with all Fuente smokes. The first inch was bold and full bodied. I found the rest of it strong with a earthy spice but very little else. It left me wanting more. I will try it again but it is alittle pricey.

"Not bad"
Not bad...but not good either. This was not by any means a bad smoke. I would even smoke again, but then only if it were a gift. The aroma was just as spicy as the flavor (which some would consider a good thing), but it left a somewhat bitter taste in the air. Also, it was wrapped pretty tightly, but constructed well enough that it didnt detract from the draw. In fact, this made for a decent amount of smoke from a rather small stick. Again, good for a once-in-a-while smoke, not for every day.

"A good smoke, not a good value"
Nicely constructed, excellent burning cigar. Spicey with nutty overtones, and full bodied, but didn't find it complex or compelling. Was a pleasant smoke, but won't add this to my collection in that quality/price comp just doesn't make sense.

"Very flavorful for a skinny cigar"
This corona of the famed Don Carlos line looks good with a wrapper rich in color and with few flaws. Other than an uneven burn, this cigar is an outstanding performer: lush draw producing lots of aromatic smoke, solid ash, and it stays solid throughout, never getting soft and mushy as sometimes happens with small ring cigars. And for a skinny cigar, it's packed with flavor: a complex and balanced mix of spice, cedar, and cashews with some sweetness. Gets mellower and smoother as it's smoked. It only gets hot at the end since you'll be smoking it down to the nub. Has a long finish and leaves a small comfortable buzz afterwards. A pretty big smoke from a relatively small package.

"Strong!"
Certainly a full bodied smoke. Construction was excellent, except for spotting on the outer wrapper. Not a real big problem, but I would expect more from a $9.00 cigar. Good even burn that never got harsh.

"Solid"
A great cigar with beautiful construction, good draw, and excellent NC taste. I just wish they were a tad cheaper, but you can find them for under 6 bucks a stick when buying by the box; at that price they are an excellent smoke.

"A Pleasure"
Sometimes it is hard for a Corona sized cigar to meet the expectations that are set with the larger sizes. This one did! The flavor was excellent, it had a consistent burn, great draw and the construction was good! Started a bit full bodied but quickly mellowed to a wonderful smoke. I don't always have time for a larger stick (kids) so I am glad I can count on the DC #3.

"one of the best"
Bought this when I couldn't find the #4.
Simply amazing! (and i'm normally a maduro smoker). Not too powerful, best towards the end, no problems. Chew on it for a while after you're done and you get this amazing chocolatey, nutty flavor. I didn't wanna take it out of my mouth 🙂

In 1998 I purchased $5000 of cigars. Obviously a few different cigars. So far only the Hemmingways come close. Astral Grand Reserve Perfeccion, Bauza, Tabacalera, El Rey Del Mundo, Tamboril, Cupido, are all great. The only one that is above the res

This was an excellent medium-bodied perfecto, with a nice range of flavors. The construction was the work of a craftsman. My wife found the aroma a little overpowering, however, which is what lowered the rank somewhat.
