"its OK"
this was my fourth from the box- about six months since I bought the box. Leather and some distant spice highlights this very dry basic, one dimensional cigar. Each have been the same in every way. Nothing special but not bad. There is no finish on this cigar- the same taste and aroma all the way though.

"EXCELLENT CIGAR"
This is an excellent dominican cigar this is hands down the best dominican one can buy, better then the opus x. The cigar is full of complexity and not boring at all too bad I had only 2 that were gifted to me from my boss. Now i have to go out and buy a box that will be well worth it.

"Much better than the Hemingways"
I love the Don Carlos line and consider it far superior to its perhaps more popular Hemingway counterpart. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra couple bucks when selecting between these two. Just smoked one of these that had been resting for about a year and was not disappointed.

"yikes"
I was very excited about going out and purchasing this very well rated cigar. I was so looking forward to the relaxing, well deserved, time that I would spend savoring this stick. When I sat down to light it I put it up to my nose and opened all my senses to take in what I thought would be a rich bouquet. I was taken aback immediately. I thought I was near a very wet and dirty dog. An almost acrid smell was in the mix. I started to wonder.
Clipping and lighting the cigar I noticed how poor the wrapper was adhered to the cigar. It started pulling away almost immediately after lighting. I had to lick the side in several places over and over again to stop a serious unwrapping.
All of this could have been over looked with a smoke with all the qualities that I had started out to find. Well...that didn't happen. I did get puffs of a rich leather and mahogany flavor, but these were sporadic at best. Nearly every draw brought in a green woody flavor, and had that not been mixed with a metallic, petroleum oil slick that by the end of the smoke left me queazy, I would have been only slightly disappointed. Inch after inch my pallette was accosted with this $11 dollar dissapointment.
I can only say that I hope I just bought a bad one, and if I was offered another down the road, I would try it again in the hopes of putting down the bad memories suffered this go around.

"A Big Boy!"
Love the shape and the aroma. Construction OK, but not outstanding. Good draw with cedar and wood. Even burn. Still like the DCM #1 better.

"Perfect for a Lazy Afternoon"
Inviting pre-light aroma, this is a big stick that demands your attention for 90 minutes. Excellent construction, although the burn occasionally needs touching up. Mellow on the draw with copious smoke. Smooth from beginning to end. One of my favorites.

"A Bit Disappointed"
Out of the box, a great smelling and looking cigar. Initially, a very petroleum flavor. Definitely strong for the first third. Middle was a pleasure, with the strong coffee and strong cocoa coming out. The last third was like the first. As the title suggests, it was a bit of a disappointment. Definitely not as good as the robusto.

"excellent consistency"
If price were no matter, this would be the best cigar outside of Cuba. The consistent smoke and draw is outstanding. A terrific tasting after dinner cigar, year after year quality.

"Nearly Perfect..."
As with most other buyers, I am not one to buy into the hype of these, the Opus X, etc. But after trying this one, I see that this is one of few cigars that lives up to the reputation surrounding it. Wonderful, caramel-colored wrapper, slightly oily-one of the best prelight aromas I have ever smelled. Took about half an inch to get into the true flavor profile of the cigar. Notes of tea, light coffee, caramel and espresso were most notable and provided a wonderful after-dinner experience. Aroma was among the best from any cigar. Got lucky and got a box for $180, more than 100 off retail, so not too bad at just over 7$ a stick. Try this cigar and see why the Don Carlos is one of the best cigars avaliable!

"Unbelievable"
Unbelievable. This will give you about two of the best hours on earth. Set aside a nice quiet place and a glass of Jack Daniels, and this stick will make you believe that you are in heaven. Very smooth, not too strong, but very, very pleasant. My absolute favorite!!

"believe the hype"
Not one to buy off on all the hype surrounding some of the products out there, I lit this stick with the same level of suspicion. For once the hype was right. With a year plus in the humidor, this has got to be one of the finest, complex peices of work I have ever had the pleasure to smoke. A multi-transitional garden of delights for the palate with an aroma to match right down to the nub. This is one Fuente I don't might spending top dollar for.

"So close"
The dry woody smoke was nicely refined, and after almost 3 years in my cabinet, probably past it's prime. The wrapper was a nice dark carmel color. The ash was clean and flaky, only holding about an inch at a time. The dry woody flavors were complimented by hints of spice and coco, but none of those under currents ever really came to the surface to dominate this cigar and make it a great one.

Not as powerful as Robustos though, still spicey and complex enough. Medium bodied. Tasty. I don't know why but "Don Carlos = Gorgeous Cigars" is imprinted in my brain.

"Not a premium fuente"
Smoke three and all either burned uneven or the wrapper pulled away. I smoke alot of fuente and look to others in the line as a better priced delivery sysem for smoking pleasure. Should have seen the face on the guy at the cigar store when I brought the box back!

"Ahhhhhh"
First of all, I was a bit dismayed by the price of the cigar. I paid 11.00$US for it and hoped that it would live up to the write ups I have read about it. I was NOT disappointed! 🙂 Seemed to get better the more you smoked it, so many diff flavors...right on the verge of what I consider .. full bodied! A must to try!

I didn't expect much from it because I had very bad experience from its line. Maybe it's the way Fuente produce cigars. You will found short-story, best-seller, and Work-of-art great, but, the remaining from the Hemingway line so disappointed. Besides, fo
