"el rey del macanudo?"
one of my top cigars is the erdm robusto maduro, so i decided to venture out and try something else in the erdm line. well i dont want to put down one of the most successful brands in the world but this cigar reminded me of my first macanudo, bland tastelss and boring. i like mild cigars but there is mild and then there's just plain boring. (since that first macanudo i have had numerous great sticks)
the odd thing was that the aroma was fantastic?!? if i could have been tasting what i was smelling this would also have a permanant resting place in the humi. at least for me ill stick with the robusto maduro

"OK, this weekend was HuntNSmoke"
Finished one very wet elk hunt this weekend with a Choix Supreme. I'm afraid that this smoke was simply lacking my interest, due to grassy flavors, very light flavor changes, a tight draw in the first inch and an mediocre wrapper flavor. Perhaps it's best after a pint or two of some strong beer.

"you get what you pay for"
After reading the great reviews I picked up a couple of these from my local cigar store. Upon lighting it I got a flavor of tree bark and cough syrup. I smoke about a third of it and tossed it out . Gargle a cup of mouth wash to try to rid my palate of it's taste. I will not buy any more of these.

"Value sticks"
What a good smoke. Always smooth, interesting med-full flavors comin at ya in an OK looking gar. Wrappers do seem a little delicate but still dont have the problems of their Robustos. Most I have smoked burnt very nice and maintained good draw throughout. Good, consistent taste =Good Value.

"Horrible!"
There is nothing distinctive about the flavor of this cigar. What's worse, it was terribly constructed (one of the most veiny four dollar cigars I've ever smoked), with a very unevn burn.

"The maduro is even better!"
I'm on my second box (this time the maduro) and these are a little better than the EMS. The same oily, smooth wrapper, even burn, excellent construction (the wrapper is a bit delicate, so be careful) and the taste has that distinctive slightly sweet flavor of a good maduro wrapper, along with the ERDM trademark peppery tang. This cigar is nearly flawless. I did have one with a tight draw but the others I have smoked so far have been consistently good. "Consistency" is the best description I can give this cigar. All these cigars are simply superb and JR is offering them at $55 a box (20), probably the best cigar deal this side of Havana.

"Getting better! Update"
This was a GREAT deal from JR cigars. I was skeptical, but no more. These are a long burn and mild enough for a new smoker, but complex enough for anyone. Had very nice feel to it and the burn was very even. Just a nice smoke for anyone anytime. UPDATE: The first time I smoked this gar I found that I needed a coule relights, but after just a few weeks in the dor, they are perfect on the burn 🙂

"The best $3 cigar"
I've smoked a lota cigars in 40 years, including the forbidden ones, but puff for puff, the Choix Supreme is among the top 10. Considering its near-flawless construction (the only negative comment I have is the cap), the silky, oily wrapper, its razor-sharp burn and flavorful, spicy taste and bountiful smoke, this cigar is a bargain at just over 3 bucks. Lew Rothman said it is quite possibly the best cigar for sale in the U.S. Not withstanding his biased, commercial endorsement (he owns the company), he may be right. After all, the brand and blend is the product of the sage of the cigar world, Mr. Frank Llaneza. The Honduran ERDM brand has been underappreciated for quite awhile, especially the EMS Choix Supreme. It deserves a second look and smoke. I did smoke a box of these 5 years ago and they weren't nearly as good as today's box.
