"why the hell not?"
A little stingy on the draw. About what you'd figure -- some earth from the Honduran components, a little vanilla cream from the CTS wrapper. I've had this one festering in a box for about five years, and I recall them being a little gutsier back in the day. Not a bad little smoke when they draw right. Worth a buck, surely.

"Gets better, but not good enough"
These aged better than your average small smoke, but ultimately it doesn't impress. I expected more from an ERDM. It's not very robust, and construction is decent at best.

"Great Quick Smoke"
The small size of this cigar offers a quick smoke break. ERDM's are famous for being a less expensive alternative for a great tasting cigar, and this one is no different. The draw was really slow until I removed a stem from the cut. I'd love to buy a box of these someday.

"Outstanding"
This little bad body is not as full bodied as teh robustos, but it is still worthy. The construction was just as good as the bigger brothers. Flavor was light to medium with a nutty flavor. I recommend these for a twenty minute smoke.

"Too little"
I didn't get enough flavor from the filler with these babies. Didn't like the flavor that much, but I have a good suspicion that the regular ring sizes are much better. You can never really get a good assessment on a line by just smoking these skinnies, but the box was on sale at JR and I was able to build my cigarband collections for BandwagonUSA gift exchange using the bands from these cheapies

"I was surprised!!!"
Got a box of 25 on special ($5.00 + extra $2.00 shipping) at JR with purchase of a box of El Ray Coronas.

I agree with the other reviewer who said there's something about the middle of the cigar. He said it burned hot and got a little "acrid" in the middle. I would say almost but not quite bitter. Strange, because the middle is usually my favorite part of any cigar.

Regardless, I've smoked a couple of these now and really enjoyed both of them. Awesome flavor and construction for a $1.00 cigar!!! Even burned for longer than I expected. Think I'm really going to miss them when they're gone (or almost gone) and I'll have to get some more. I'd have no problem paying the regular price for these. Also thinking this might be a good time to try a box of El Ray Maduros and also try a box of Cafe Noir for $7.00. Seems like having some of these little El Rays around will make my pricier cigars last longer and keep me satisfied as well.

Thanks to all the reviewers on this site for turning me on to the El Ray brand. Great cigars, great value!!!

"Good quick smoke"
This is a good afternoon or morning smoke. It has a medium body that isn't overpowering and stays pretty smooth most of the way. The construction is fair and the burn and draw are excellent. They get a bit hot on the last half. I enjoy these regularly. Great for the price.

"true to it's name"
This is a pretty nice light-medium bodied stick that goes just excellently with a morning coffee. I've noticed some inconsistancy, but also that my take on flavor was vastly effected by my food or drink at the time. I've noticed that halfway down they consistantly burn a bit too hot and acrid but that passes after a half dozen puffs. My guess is that it's due to the somewhat poor construction. Most of the ones on the box I purchased had soft spots. That said, a respectible $1 smoke for a short time frame.

"Short and sweet"
A good, short smoke for when you're pressed for time. CaL are often found on special and are a great value. Typical Villazon flavor in a small package, the CaL isn't the prettiest, but gets the job done.

"Surprisingly satisfying"
I picked one of these little guys out of a restaurant's cigar bar for a short smoke after a business dinner. Although its appearances are a little rustic, all apprehensions diappeared as soon as I lit up. For such a small cigar, it has a nice, medium body--very satisfying. I smoke slowly anyway, so the small ring gauge is not a problem for me. And because I do smoke slowly, this tiny stick lasted a surprisingly long time. You can get these online through jrcigars.com for only a buck a stick, and they're very handy to have around when you want a smoke but don't have much time--like waiting outside when the wife goes into a store to do some shopping. They're also good for passing out to friends who don't really smoke cigars, but are interested in investigating what our favorite pasttime is all about--not a big commitment for them or for you.
