Hoyo de Monterrey (Cuba) Edicion Limitada 2007 Regalos

This smoke was very smooth, a little cedary with a touch of spice, but it never really blossomed. The smoking experience is reminiscent of the Monte C ELs, so perhaps in a few ys this one will come into its own

Another reminder to me that the '07 ELs seem to be much better "fresh" than the last few years. Woody taste with a smooth spice, and finishing with some nutty hints. It burned perfect and drew well. I am hoping these will continue to improve with age, definitely worth investing in to see.

Sat in my humidor for 6 months while I admired its beauty. Tasted like a well aged smoke. light spice, leathery, woodsy with a mild coffee earthy undertone. Very complex. Only knock is the finish was average.

Picked up a few of these while in Munich last month & I must say even though I think the limitada thing is a bit over rated, most of the smokes in this series are excellent & this is no exception! Great construction & burn, exceptional tastes of spicey cedar with hints of cocoa/coffee maybe? That could have been from all the cappuccinos I was drinking. Ididn't find it quite as bold as the R&J from this line, but great none the less. I brought back 2 to age in the humi, so I'll giva an update in a year or to after tyhey have some age on them.
