"Favorite"
I can't think of another cigar that I'd smoke when I get my hands on a real Cuban Montecristo, not some fake one.

"Vintage 1998 - Terrific Cigar!"
Smoked a vintage 1998 Monte Especial No.1 and it was amazing. Although there wasn't much smell when I put the unlit cigar to my nose it delivered when lit. What a wonderful cigar with 9+ years on it.

"A Vegetarian's Cigar"
I read a review somewhere that described this cigar as having some green pepper flavors. I thought it sounded crazy but I could definitely pick up on some of that while smoking this one. It also had a distinct mushroom flavor to it for the first half. By the second half, it took on some mineral flavors and became a little salty. All in all, pretty good. It was definitely mild for a Cuban. It paired well with the Coors I was drinking. The aroma of it burning was fantastic. The draw was perfect, but the burn was slightly off - no big deal though.

"Great finish"
Smooth and creamy thru the first half then the spice and cuban twang kicked in and finished with a bang. Have only had a couple but thats going to change. The ones I had were from 97 and I made good on every inch as it was nubbed till I burnt me fingers and gave up a few mustache hairs for the cause. Excellent thanks Skipper.

"Best Monte I've had!"
Had a few but one from the mid 90's blew me away. Its amazing what age can do for this cigars. Rich, Creamy, Flavorful and complex the Monte Especial No 1 delivers in ways that other cigars don't. The entire smoking experience can be summed up in one word..... "ethereal". Go get some, NOW!

"Complex"
As Mo said, a smooth creamy complex smoke with flavor to spare. A tad tight on the draw but worth it for the great MC flavor that rewards the smoker. A great cigar to take your time with and enjoy.

"Classic"
This cigar epitomizes everything I want in a cigar. Must admit that the one I smoked was from 1998, so, the aging must have helped. But it was rich, flavorful, creamy, and complex. YUM

A short perppery smoke that was excellent. A surprisingly robust cigar, considering the ring gauge. I loved thed classic styling of the pigtail.

"A Benchmark Panatela"
When aged properly this cigar can really blossom into a wonderful gem. 95’ was the year and I would have to say they got it right with this one. Perfectly rolled by some delicate hands. This cigar had a draw on it that that was smother than Doc Holiday. It has taken on some nice plume over the years. The wrapper a bit thin, all was good otherwise. The toasting aroma was filled with a long creamy mist. After lighting I was consumed by coffee, then leather, it was a perfect blend. The air around me with lightly dusted with tones of cedar and spice. The flavor did not change much throughout. I was being carried off in space with every puff I took. Great cigar, great cigar!
