Padron has done it again in my book. Setting the standard for all non-Cuban cigars to try to attain.

"Viva Padron..."
A beautiful dark wrapper, and perfect construction. A very rich and flavorful smoke without being too overpowering. Chocolate notes changing to a very pleasant earthy leathery flavor 2/3 of the way in, but the cocoa notes still remain to tease.

If you want a good smoke, any 1964 Padron will please.

"Sunday cigar"
Quite simply a fantastic cigar, better than the 80th in my opinion. Price range is a little off-putting, but even one a week would be a treat. Unique spice flavor that I have never tasted in another cigar. The aroma is woody and tart.

"Elegant and luxurious"
An elegant looking pressed cigar with a silky wrapper. No. 3 in Cigar Aficionado's top 25 cigars of 2006. A just about perfect draw emits plenty of smoke, and a mostly even burn leaves behind solid, flakeless ash. It's a super smooth smoke filled with chocolate and nutty flavors that surround a core of mellow tobacco. Smokes well right down to the nub. Only drawbacks are the high cost, and the fact that it tastes so good there's a tendency to smoke too fast. The epitome of elegance and luxury.

"Very good smoke"
Another beautiful looking Padron. Good draw with ample smoke and minor burn irregularities. Still partial to the 1926 Maduro, but still a good tasting cigar.

"Still Unimpressed"
This cigar was given to me a little over a year ago and I've had it in my box since then because I really don't like the '64 line. I fired it up tonight out of curiosity to see if age made any difference in the flavors. It was just as smooth as the ones I've had in the past, but a little mellower. Flavors ranged from wood to chocolate to earth, but there was still quite a bit of the musty green alfalfa and metal that keeps me from liking these, (and wondering why so many other people seem to). In short, a smooth and classy cigar to be sure, but nowhere near perfect and far from worth the $15 bucks my friend paid for it.

"One of the Best"
Impeccable construction and a delicate but full flavor make this one of the best cigars available in the US market. An easy draw with plenty of medium-bodied smoke, a long solid ash, superior balance with a woody flavor and an autumnal aroma. If only the price point were a little lower. A special cigar best reserved for special occasions, like a crisp fall evening.

"still smiling"
Pardon me while I try to refrain from crying. I have second degree burns on my thumb and upper lip. I hope to never again encounter such a cigar that I would risk injury to get another puff. I don't care what they cost. I'll get second job.

"Not all its cracked upto be"
Had a buddy who just had to have these so we went in on a box and split them up. After a month or so in the humi i cracked one out and was surprised at how mild this cigar actually was. It has decent flavors that tickle the pallette but does not provide the strength of body that I prefer. It is a well made cigar holds its ash and burns evenly. I have had more than a few and have to say would I pay the current price for them? No! But for those who prefer a milder smoke with decent flavor and some body this isn't a bad choice even if I do think the value isn't there.

"WOW! Padron Anniversary"
Basically, while this had all the beginnings of a fine, even great cigar, for me it never opened up. I tasted the light nut and leather flavors in the first inch and got excited, knowing the middle and last third would end up burning my fingers. Unfortunately, the one I smoked never progressed beyond that point, staying smooth yet at best only mildly flavorful. I will say this, the cigar bar I was at when I bought this keeps their humidor well above 75%, which I feel dampens the cigars and holds back the flavor. For their benefit(and to be a respectful customer) I usually bring one from my own 'dor, and buy one of their's, which I put in my pocket till a later date.

The usual fantastic draw and construction. Had to relight for the first time ever on an anniversario but it was extremely windy. Overall an almost great smoke. I prefer the maduro versions of the anniv.

"I remember better..."
I remember these being better. Padron Anniversary cigars are one of my "go to" smokes. This was one of the first that was a touch dissapointing. It seemed grassy and dry. I'll chalk some of that up to being smoked outdoors ona windy day.
