"Eeew. Just Eeew."
This is NOT a mild cigar. It might be "Milder" than the usual Hoyo de Monterrey line (Excalibur is made by HDM) but they are not a true mild cigar. I tried a 5-pack of these epicures on the advice of a friend, and at various stages of aging (fresh on delivery, 2 months, 9 months, 1 year) have found them consitently harsh, bitter, and grassy. They DO look sexy in the humidor, but I plan to fob off the last one to someone who prefers full-bodied, shitty-tasting cigars. Yuck.

"encouraging"
Bought from a b&m 2-for-1 bin that provided lots of disappointment and no recourse (all sales final); however, this was a great new smoke for me along with La Aurora 1495 so there was reward for buying 8 cigars in such a manner.
Smokehole and Kaisersozei describe the flavors etc, better than I could. My cigar had some discoloration and veins but burned well and provided pleasing, interesting, changing flavor. Will look for deals in a longer shape

"Just ok, probably no more for me"
Started out nice and went downhill. Sort of mild, but then got sort of oily and harsh. Maybe some smokers will like that, but not me. It also burned unevenly, down one side, even after a careful even lighting. 3 splits occured while smoking.

"Very pleasant"
Firm stick with an extremely tight draw, even burn, compact 2+" ash, nice blue smoke. Started out with a sweet hay-like flavor that switched over to a non-bitter coffee tone about midway. Just a hint of spice picked up near the band, and the last third was full of sweet cherry notes. Very creamy finish. Great flavor throughout. About 90 minutes on this bad boy--gonna get a bunch more!

"Nice Stick, with a tight draw!"
This is a very nice cigar, with a sweet, tartness that is kind of like dried fruit. That's the Excalibur Epicure's strength. It's weakness is the tight draw. Kind of like trying to suck a golf ball through a straw. If you can get past the draw the taste is very good and this cigar just looks good in it's black and gold band. Each time I smoke one they get better. Not a bad value either.

"Flavor good, construction bad"
This cigar looks beautiful, golden brown wrapper, perfectly smooth. Things went a bit downhill from there.: the wrapper split at the foot shortly after it was lit and the crack propagated all the way to the band! It was still smokeable but went out several times. Very tight draw. Not much flavor (I guess because the wrapper was loose!) until the top 3rd where it finally showed its potential. Mild-medium flavor, lots of wood. Will definitely try this cigar again, I must have gotten a lemon.

"Good, But One-Dimensional"
Flavor was woody throughout. Construction was good. Even burn. Very tight ash. The band is pretty, and that doesn't hurt. Between mild and medium.

"not bad"
Not what I expected, but not a bad overall cigar. Smooth even burn, easy draw, medium bodied woody tastes throughout, left a nice taste afterwards.

"Well above average!"
I had just smoked a couple of the finest cigars available the night before so this little guy had a tough act to follow. This Excaliber did satisfy. It could was definately above average, except for perhaps construction. It really is a beautiful stick. However, I had to re-light it a couple of times. The tast had a bit of tartness in the first half like dried fruit. I would buy again at the same price.

"Mild but still pretty good"
These were freebies you could get with a coupon in Cigar Aficianado a few months back. Solid and well-made, it's a good performer with an excellent draw and burn. It's a smooth and toasty smoke with a nutty, pistachio-like aftertaste. I can see why people may find these too mild, but I like them and enjoy them as versatile "anytime" cigars.

"Not all there"
Asked for the M, got this. Well, it was a very tight draw, bitter, acidic taste. Pretty much nothing positive... shame, especially for $5.

"Lacking the beef..."
This one failed to give me the Excalibur satisfaction that I've come to love in the bigger sticks. It just didn't have the same kind of "punch" to it. Not a bad cigar, as usual with HDM it was well-made and tasty...but just lacked something.

"Just OK"
Very well-made cigar, as with most from General Cigar. The taste had me wanting more though. It was medium bodied, woody, and got ashy towards the last 3rd. Wouldn't buy again. Got no satisfaction from it. Price based on sampler.

"Very consistent"
This is a mild cigar that produces a very healthy amount of silky smoke. The burn was perfect. The smoke is enjoyable and consistent from beginning to end.

"A light smoke"
This stick is a mild smoke yet very silky. The foot lit well and had some uneven burn. The notes were of cedar and some leather. All in all a light smoke.

"slightly above average"
this cigar scores points for being beautiful to look at with very very few veins and a stately band and for the incredible amount of billowy smoke produced, but the cigar lacks in the flavor department. not that the flavor is bad or bitter, in fact it is quite pleasant and would be very suitable for a smoker who prefers a mild to medium flavored cigar. all in all i found it to be a beautifully packaged and constructed cigar but lacked a solid satisfying flavor.

"Enjoyable Smoke"
This cigar burned dead even and had a perfect draw. A mild enjoyable consistant flavor with a hint of sweetness. Enjoy with a good cup of coffee.

"Try it you will like it!!"
I think this is an excellent cigar for the price. A connecticut shade wrapper and blends of tobacco make this cigar smooth with a creamy taste. This is one of those cigars that would please just about everyone.

"Epicure, Excalibur"
Excellent mild/medium cigar with great construction. Straight ash. This cigar does not smoke well if your humidor is above 70%. I smoked 20 of these in Florida and they never touched a humidor, all were excellent.

This was a wonderful 45 minute smoke. Very smooth and mild after only 2 weeks in the humidor. Probably not for those who like very strong sticks.

Another highly overrated and sought-after dog rocket. Bitter with a prevalent winey taste.

Far to young to be on the shelves. I should have let this one age a long time before smoking.

The Epicure is a very rich cigar filled with coco and coffee flavors.
Its construction is top quality and burn very consistant. I look forward
to trying the maduro and I would recomend this cigar to anyone that loves
a full flavored cigar.

I love HdM cigars, but what a dissapointment this one was. Smoked five, all five had runs & or cones, terrible burn problems. Threw the rest in the trash.
