A truly fantastic smoke. I was a bit surprised, as I have had some before that were not nearly as good as these.

"Icehog is drinking too much Stoli"
These are amazing. At just over 1.5 yrs old I can't believe how good these little doggies are. Better IMO than the Exhibicion #4 and even the famed RyJ churchill. Abundance of flavor and an amazing aroma. Helluva bargain too.

"Dirty"
Smoked one from '06 tonight. The construction was near perfect, lots of smoke and straight burn. It had an Earthy profile, but not one like any other RyJ I gave had. It tasted more like...dirt. A couple times I got the enjoyable earthy flavors, but mostly is was a one-dimensional dirt flavor. While not unenjoyable, not necessarily one I would be quick to return to.

"earthy and satisfying"
Got a freebie 3-pack of these with a larger order. When I pulled this from the tube, I immediately noticed it was covered in plume. A good sign. The head is a little soft, but the draw and burn were fine. Earthy, twangy and satisfying after a heavy lunch. I've never had a Cuban RyJ that didn't impress, come to think of it. This is a fine little afternoon smoke.

"A great little Cuban"
Bought a few of these in Canada about three months ago. They definitely improve with aging. Nice ash, a bit tight on the draw. Good smoke. Great flavor all the way down to the ring. A welcome change from the Dominican Montecristos I've been smoking lately.

"another Okay cigar"
Again this is a little smaller ring gauge than I am used to smoking so my rating might be skewed. Here it is anyway.
The cigar is a mild/medium cigar with a decent burn. The draw was fine and the ash held together well. For my tast, it seemed a little on the bland side, but produced good smoke. All in all I would have to say it was just a little above average and for the price not worth it.

"Delicious!"
My father-in-law hooked me up with one of these after his vacation in Cuba. We even smoked them inside his house! I guess he likes me. I was surprised at the wonderful mild flavor. I prefer full bodied cigars but this one was good. It did not have the draw problems as others have noted but my father-in-law does not have a humidor. Dry cigars are less likely to have draw problems but they burn hotter.

"A Nice Gift"
Appearance was veiny and not very smooth. Ok volume of smoke with each draw. It had a grey ash that held well. The burn was uneven and would not correct itself. It was medium in strength with a aroma and flavour that was definitely Cuban. The end burned a little hot. Constantly having to correct the burn took away from the experience and probably the flavour. This cigar was a gift so I just put down the average price of $9.00. I would try another to compare.

"soy no to tubo"
I've now smoked the rest of my box and i still have issues with this stick. Its been draw problems on the last couple. I even took them out of the tube and sat them in the humidor for over 6months. Its a shame because the flavours and aroma are really nice, its just a shame they dont burn or pull properly.

"Nice gift."
A friend brought me this one from Spain about 8 months ago. He brought me another from Canada a couple of weeks ago so it seemed like time to try the first. Very nice strong woody/creamy flavor with some harshness on the finish. You can taste the Cuban in this cigar, but overall, the quality is not up to snuff. Again the harshness detracts from the experience. I didn't find the aroma anything special. The burn was pretty good and the wingy ash held well. I did get a good buzz though. $8, no way on a regular basis, but that's what I'll put as price paid.

"uneven burn is right"
i picked up 5 0f these in Canada 2 years ago. smoked 3 in the first 2 months, very disappointed, too mild for my taste, too woodsy, bad burn and hot on the palate towards the end. but it did start out very nice with it's smooth character.

"Uneven burn"
Construction, appearance and aroma are all excellent. Ample creamy smoke from the word go. Flavour is superb, roast nuts and dry wood building towards the end with a consistent undertone of rich tobacco. my issues with this cigar are that their inconsistent out of the tube (poorly sealed I suspect) they burn a little hot towards the end and the first handful I smoked from my box have all had big burn problems from halfway down.

I've had a bunch of R&J puros over the years and this one is not a favorite. Mediocre taste, decent enough construction, nothing to write home about. I much prefer the No.3 tubos.

"I respectfully disagree..."
Have tried about seven Cubans including this one.... They're very good, but there are lots of non-Cuban brands I like at least as good if not better... and when you consider the value for price.... there's no contest. I think the R&J Reserve Maduros are at least this good, if not better . CAO Brazilias, Hansotia Ancient Warrior, Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Sumatras are all at least as good... and mostly better... and the value is hughley better. Will definitely never pay a premium for a Cuban again.

"Average smoke"
The fact that these stogies were not properly humidified played a great role in my appreciation of this Havana. It starts off spicy, while quickly smoothing off, however it lacks a great "punch" leaving a verry bland flavour on the palate. Near halfway thru the cigar, a very unpleasant acrid flavour was pleasant, and at first i beleived that this was due to its storage, however after reading several reviews, I found that this was common

"Disjointed"
Smoked 2003-04. Dull mid-brown wrapper. Dry end of the flavour spectrum. Drawing gently on it releases very faint earthiness and some smooth creaminess but risks a power failure - mine went out twice in this mode. Encouraging a more vigorous burn emphasizes mushroom and coriander seed notions while destroying the roundness. Either bland or zippy, it seems. No happy medium here.
