"Nice!"
The tatse of this cigar doesn't blow me away like the RP Vintage 1992 but it's construction and appearence are excellent. The cigar had a great draw and lots of smoke so I didn't have to try very hard to enjoy it. A good cigar.

"Not Very Good"
I didn't care for this cigar. It didn't have much taste. I guess you could say it had some hints of cedar. It had spice to it. It is definitely not my go to Rocky Patel.

"Not bad"
Good smoke was not the best rocky that I have had. I would consider the old world or the vintage lines much superior.

"Nice Patel"
A cigar with nice medium/full body with flavors of cedar and spice. Draw was good and lots of smoke with anice even burn.I am smoking the cigar as I am writing this and I have paired it with a Sam Adams Irish Red. All in all A good cigar for the price.

"A nice surprise"
I'm not much on "Full Bodied" stogie's but this was a good smoke. A consistent and easy draw allowed me to take in a little less and really enjoy the flavor of this cigar. I was given this cigar and that made it that much better 🙂

"Lots of woody goodness"
This cigar is full of wood flavors. lots of cedar and spice, with some dry leather. The look is very simple and the construction is very good. The draw and burn were perfect and produced a nice ash. The cigar is consistant in flavor from start to finish and didn't change much. A good cigar!

"Another Patel Primo"
Of all the Rocky Patel smokes I have tried, I rate this one as one of the very best. A complex flavor mix punctuated by spiciness throughout, this one never disappoints. As with the other Rocky products, however, the price is inflated. I pay the price though, to "experience the experience" .... and enjoy it thoroughly

"Nice!"
Very rich, full flavored 'gar. Earthy, leathery with hints of coffee. There's a nice spicy-ness to the smoke and after the 1/2 way point it gets a little vegetal. I like it all the way through. This cigar tastes like it has some age on it. Very smooth. Try it!

"Pretty good"
Nice spicy flavor with a lot of wood. Mostly cedar at first, but then oak in the second half. Overall, not a bad cigar. I'd definitely try another. I'd had this one in my humidor for around 18 months.

"uneventful"
Ok, I only had one of these, but what a dud. Bought this at a cigar lounge so it was pretty well kept. The construction was flawless, the pre-lit aroma was pleasant, the flavor was a consistent BUT very bland. If you like that, great, but not me!

"OSG very nice"
This review is for the OSG produced in 2002 which I picked up at a nice price. A very solid cigar tho the wrapper had veins and seemed a little dry but wanted to try one right off the truck. Very strong peppery flavoy with nice earthy undertones throughout the finish. About 2/3rds through it switched up and the earthyness took over- a rich thick enjoyable earthyness with the pepper now just at the end of the finish. I would say a heavy beer would make for a nice companion on this one.

"Very nice."
Finally tried my first Sun Grown. this had spiciness right off the blocks even before i lit it. After about the first 1/2 inch, the flavors were very reminiscent of the vintage series (a personal favorite). Great all the way through with a little punch toward the end.

"Not bad; not stellar"
This came as part of a sampler. Well made, even burn, reasonable ash. Good draw with a mild and pleasant flavor. Got a bit harsh toward the end; lighter draws helped with that. Not exactly memorable but a good stick for the price.

"Added power"
I gave this 9 months rest before trying it again. My first attempt was good, but not stellar. This time around, I found there to be a definate pepper flavor even before it was lit. I am not sure if this was a plume affect or more oils reaching the surface/tip of the cigar. I decided to use a hole punch rather than a cutter this time around to account for the brittle nature of these cigars. All-in-all, I found that this cigar picks up decent strength with age and still has that nice sweetness to it that RP seems to promote.
A nice buy.
A nice buy.

"Spicy Surprise"
As soon as this cigar touched my lips the spice took over. Almost started to burn my lips it was that spicy. Hints of leather, spice and pepper. Very smooth and alot of smoke which I liked. Did have a bit of aftertaste however which continued until the next day. Gave me a good buzz after all was said and done. Enjoyed and would grab a couple for my humidor.

"What's all the fuss about?"
Decent stick, with smooth pepper and medium body. It didn't vary at all ... I just got tired of it about half way through. Tight draw, but otherwise good construction. Lacks subtlety.

"Not my style"
That being said, not bad for what it is. Very spicy and peppery with a medium/full flavor that really doesn't change at all through the cigar. Very constant, so if you like that above listed flavor (dry smoke, also not my cup of tea), then you will like this one. Okay appearance, and not much pre-light aroma. Draw was a tad loose, and I had some uneven burn so construction was a little sub-par. A good smoke for others, I'm sure. Just not for me.

"Ray of sunshine"
This was better than the smaller ring gauge, but only because it had more complexity and burned cooler. Very good cigar, but a little pricey if you do not know where to shop. This was not a strong cigar in my opinion, but very flavorful.

"Has it all"
This smoke has everything a fine sungrown should have: good manners with strength and spice balanced by a smooth sweet and sometimes tasty tart finish. And its good looks don't hurt either. More please??

"Where's the Listerine?"
Cigar had smooth, easy draw and generated a mouthful of billowy smoke. Tasted leathery, spicy and peppery. Burn was good, although the cigar burned out just before hitting the band. My main complaint is that it left a strong, bad case of funkmouth. The next morning I felt like I had slept with a boot in my mouth. I got as part of a special sampler and paid $2.50

"tight draw"
The only difference that I noticed between this and the torpedo of this family is that the draw was a bit tighter and the flavor and finish weren't quite as strong. Still a big fan though.

"Average for a RP"
I got a few of these in a RP sample pack, it is a good looking cigar, nice construction, and even burn as expected from an RP. I found it a touch strong for my palate but not a bad experience at all. It was spicy and a comes with a strong finish. Not a Vintage 1990, but not bad either.

"Not my favorite Rocky"
This is one of the most attractive cigars in my humi--a gorgeous lustrous, oily and vein free wrapper, capped just as beautifully. Still it had a few hard and a few soft spots. The draw was a bit tight and never opened up. It had nice body with flavors of pepper and leather, but not terrifically complex. All in all, I'll take either of the Vintage lines over this one.

"it was okay"
I bought one out of curiosity and smoked it. I paid about 5 dollars for it; was a good price for the brand name. The draw was good; the aroma was nice, and kind of floral. The taste was strong and spicey to nutty with sweet hints. I prefer this kind of taste and body but, for the money there are other cigars available that are less expensive and more notable than this. I wouldn't buy a box of em but, if the price were right I would buy a sampler or a 5 pack just to have around.

"Good smoke"
I found this cigar to be a rather full-bodied smoke with very good construction and a good burn. A bit of a flacky ash that's salt and pepper in color. Flavors start off strong pepper that makes it seem a touch harsh on the back of the palat. I do enjoy a spice smoke though, it also had wook and a touch of coffee in there too. Not that complex but flavorfull enough to enjoy.

"Wonderful Smoke"
Just received one of these from a Rocky Patel cigar tasting along with an Edge. This cigar didn't seem to be as strong, still a very flavorful medium-full stick. As stated in the other review, it does have quite a bit of spices. Not so much that it overrides the rest of the flavor. Plan accordingly, it does allow you to enjoy the flavors longer than most cigars. A very good smoke, Rocky does it again!!!

"not for the faint of heart"
I do not think this cigar is medium-bodied as is billed; it is very strong. Starts off with a giant kick in the pants and probably gave me the quickest buzz I ever got from any cigar. I agree with the reviewer below; smoke it too fast and you will be having a date with Ms. Harsh. Mellows out a little bit but still retains strong spice and woody taste. This cigar is like a more flavorful Puros Indios; that's what it reminded me of.
Construction seemed ok but mine tunneled. Sun grown wrapper wasn't anything special; just sort of tastes like a plain old dark Ecudorian wrapper to me.
this is a good smoke if you like 'em strong. It's nothing like the RP vintage line.

"Not as good as I hoped."
This cigar started out toasty and smooth, and was consistent with decent toasty, nutty and oaky flavors throughtout. At about 2 inches it turned milder and harsh, but had a good clean burn before that. A good cigar, but not living up to the hype IMHO. Medium in body.

"Pretty Good"
Starts off with a peppery bang, then quickly settles into a robust, full bodied and medium-to-full strength smoke. A little harsh and burns unevenly. Nice dark coffee-like flavor. Long finish. Only complaint is with the harshness.

"a beaut"
Nice to smoke and even better to look at. This is a solid cigar in both build and taste. Medium to full bodied with some spicy notes. Certainly kept my interest throughout--a long smoke due to its excellent construction. And love the overall look with the packaging--just feels right for the type of cigar--for its color, etc. I've smoked two of these now and am still trying to figure out exactly what I'm liking about its taste--but know I look forward to figuring it out. Nice smoke. RP seems to be solid with every release.

georgeous cigar, flawless construction, good burn, easy draw, plenty of smoke. Very nice peppery and earthy taste at first then the cigar settles down a bit and looses its complexity.

"Great Smoke for Price"
I've had several of these cigars. I was introduced to it and the Edge at a RP event. Well constructed, good burn, good draw. The first inch or so can be strong but starts to smooth out quickly, leaving a spicy robust favor to the end. The sun grown is quickly becoming one of my go to smokes.

"just okay"
as much as I've come to like RP's cigars, this one disappointed a bit. while it's not bad, it's not very distinctive--especially for a 'sun grown'. I noticed a few sweet hints here and there but nothing ever distiguished itself tastewise. I will try another--to see if I just got a bad one--but will likely stick to his other cigars.
