"good smoke, not my cup o' tea yet, but good"
Please take into account that I'm working on my maduro legs. This was a beautiful cigar coming out of the humidor. Dark in complexion, nice veiny look to it. Pre-light aroma wasn't bad and the cigar was a good size. The flavor off the bat was nice and spicy - hits good. It smoothed out in the middle, but continued with a nice potency. I got about two- thirds through before I had to set it down ... this was too strong for me and there's no sense hurting yourself at lunch. If you're a maddie lover, this is a great cigar since you can get them at a very reasonable price.

"Another Fine 5 Vegas A"
Another tasty offer in the 5 Vegas A series. Had in the humi 3 months. Paid $2.25.

Shows a very dark brown, slightly veiny and oily wrapper. Feel is light but very firm. Cuts nicely and cut end stays nicely intact. Pre-light aroma of dark fermented tobacco, dark chocolate and cedar (cigar comes in a cedar sleeve). Burns evenly and strong throughout the entire smoke while maintaining a strong and long, but slightly flakey light gray ash. Knocked this one down a half point due to a somewhat tight draw as compared to the easy, relaxed draw I've experienced with other 5 Vegas A's. This is a medium-bodied maduro with full, but smooth flavors of dark chocolate, espresso, charred cedar and a hint of molasses and licorice. Taste does amp up a touch with some spice in the second half. Stays smooth and cool to the nub.

If you're looking for a medium, smooth maduro at a great price these "A's" are tough to beat

"Great Ash, but a little Bland for this Line"
The Archtype is my third experience with the 5 Vegas Series A Line. The Anomoly and Alpha were much tastier in my opinion. I have to agree with "widget" in the previous review that these are a bit bland and would recommend that he try the Alpha. It's important to note these sticks had around 5 months in the humidor. I will say that I probably got the longest ash in years of smoking off this cigar. The construction was impecable for a cigar of this price. However, do to the lack of taste (I smoked two to make sure), I can not give these a high recommendation due to the lack of rich maduro flavor.

"Not Seeing It"
Well, I've been an aficionado of sorts for about 25 years. I know a good cigar when I smoke one. Based on the great reviews of the A line, I tried CI's sampler. I've smoked two so far. Unless these dudes wake up soon I'm pretty much puzzled by the descriptions. Coffee? Cream? Chocolate? More like mud to me. They are just too darn bland to be that complex. Maybe that's why no other place has them even on the ratings map. Oh well...they are pretty to look at.

"Temptation of the Dark Side"
The 5 Vegas Series A is truly a great line. To me it's the best value for Maduros. Though, I enjoyed the heck out of it, I must say that the Archtype is not my favorite. I didn't think there was as much sweetness or chocolate taste as in the Anomoly or the Alpha. Still it's a beautiful cigar that's is well built and worth twice, what I paid for it.

"Great Value, Great Cigar"
Wow, after smoking the atomic I thought I had my mind set on that one but these are just the perfect length for me when I sit down for a relaxing smoke. Full of robust, meaty flavor and then gets a hint of chocolate towards the second half. Plenty of smoke and easy draw to top it off. My next size will have to be the Alpha since it has a little bigger ring but same length as this dark beauty.

"A bit like the Itaila if you ask me."
To me its a bit like a maduro Itaila with a meaty flavor, a really thin wrapper that likes to split but doesnt effect the smoking experience. A def cigar to have in the humi to smoke when you are looking for a Mid 80's rating cigar for a cheap price.

Got 10 for 22 bucks, Smoked one a week after they arrived. A good smoke with an earthy/chocolate flavor, but I prefer the Olivia Bundle Flor de Olivia maduro, Pardon my spelling just smoked an Opus. I will let them age a couple of months before I smoke again, but for the value can not go wrong.

Not much to say that hasn't been good. This is a really good cigar at a great price. Solid performer albeit somewhat unidimensioinal flavor. Nice full flavor and good even burn. Can't say that I'm a big 5 vegas fan but this one is a definite winner.

"Very good cigar"
I got this cigar as a sampler pack from c-bid. I tried this stick right away and unfortunately my first impression was not good. After six weeks of soaking in the humi I decided to give it another try. I could not believe I was smoking the same cigar. The draw was perfect with tons of smoke. Nice even burn all the way with a nice white ash that hung on for 1 ½ inches before falling away. The taste was excellent. The first quarter of the stick was sweet and mild. This was a complete turn-a-round from my first experience. The second quarter was a little spicy, but not harsh. The third and fourth quarters were a combination of cream and coffee. I am glad I gave these a second chance. This isn’t the best smoke right off the shelf like an RYJ en tubo is, but with some patience it is a great smoke.

"I agree - it's very good"
Lots of reviews on this baby so I'll be brief. Nice presentation, firm dark stick, nice pre-light aroma, lights up nice, burns evenly most of the time (I've smoked alot of 'em). The flavor - med-full in strength and body, dark chocolate and espresso, slightly sweet, some black pepper, with some "straight tobacco taste", a typical good Maduro. Very good, not as good as a Torano 1959, Punch Oscuro or a LaGloria Cubana Maduro but very good and a great value. Enjoy!

"8 months later..."
The construction on this was still nice, although the draw was a little tight. The 8 months in the humidor definitely took out some of the harshness that this cigar has when its young. The flavor was earthy and peppery with a nice undertone of strong coffee. It was a pleasant enough taste, but it just never developed like I hoped that it would, although it did become slightly "creamier" during the middle third, then that creaminess went away. Not at all a bad cigar, and pricewise, it is definitely a good deal.

"bland"
I found this cigar bland, it had an acrid, sour taste throughout. The construction was excellent, but without good taste what good is a cigar. The big ring gauge doesn't offer the complexity that one would think. Overall not bad if you want a mediocre cigar to puff clouds of smoke for an hour and a half, but I like taste in a cigar.

"Good cigar, great value"
I have smoked 4 of these and I have found the characteristics of the stick to be consistent. The roll is tight but has a very easy draw. Lots of smoke. The flavor has a sweet coffee flavor for the first half. It mellows out for the next quarter but stays spicy throughout; a little on the mild side for a maduro. No burn issues on any of these stick. The ash is nice and firm. I won a mazo of 20 for 40 bucks so these were an amazing value. I will continue to buy these.

"Surprising is Right!"
I expected to get a cigar like Weezy describes, hailed by the seller, panned by the critics, a cigar worth exactly what you pay for it. NICE SURPRISE: it was very pleasant, woody, with great flavors and aromas... And then, out of the blue, an inch from the end, BOOM, huge clouds of creamy, spicy smoke. A real treat!! This is what a mild-to-medium cigar should be.

"Surprising"
This stick comes in the cedar sleeve, but it does not have the overwhelming cedar flavor that some cigars presented in this manner have. The flavor was mild and a little spicey. the construction was good, and it had a even burn. The finish was a little peppery and it lasts for a couple of hours. Over all this stick is well worth the (inexpensive) cost
