"big letdown"
After the great reviews and great experiences with the 5-Vs Gold and Classic, I was expecting the Moon. What I got was the taste of wet cardboard. Beautiful presentation and looks, even but quick burn, decent aroma, but sad PiratesGold taste.

"Really good cigar!"
Very, very good cigar and an even better value. Looks great prelight and is very well packed with no soft spots. Once lit, medium to full bodied with lots of smoke and coffee and cocoa flavors predominant. Overall a great cigar and an unbelievable value at only $2-3 a stick!

"Only the Good Die Young?"
This cigar is best smoked young. The several I aged, just don't seem as tasty as the earlier ones. I don't mean they can't sit a month or two. But they seem best (to me) with around three months or less in the humidor. Besides that, this is a beautiful cigar at a great price. I've found the construction to be a bit inconsistent. With this one, it had burn and draw problems, nothing severe, but noticeable. Anyway, smokem when their fresh!

"Earthy Schmirthy"
Got a great deal on these from CI, about half the normal cost for this sampler of 20. These smokes have a beautiful dark wrapper although they're kinda rough looking. I expect spice, cocoa, or coffee from a maduro this dark but all I got was a frickin' earthy dirt taste. Not my cup o' tea.

"Bad Stick"
I picked up one of these on my way past CI the other day. While I generally adore this line, this particular stick was heavily veined, but typical A Series looking pre-light. After about 1/2 inch, I noticed that the veins would not burn, indicating an issue in quality or poor aging of the wrapper. Taste was on par with Series A, but the veins ruined the burn.

"1 year of reset"
This one had the cedar sleeve off from day one and was WELL rested. It lit easily and burned steadily. No touchups needed, it wasn't perfect but self correcting. The aroma, flavor and body were outstanding. Fine maduro balance and body w/ no unharmonius flavors. I was reminded of a AF Sun Grown cuban belicoso. Age does wonders for these

"Good Price"
Good Cigar. Great construction, great burn, definitely needs some aging. Will buy more. To my friend below me, 10="The Best Ever, Period". Either you are a novice, or are trying to pump up this brand. I tend to agree with four ratings below S. Palmer

"Not Bad"
Good cigar for the price. Better than the non-cuban Cohiba red dot which is more than double the price. Good draw, no burn issues, little on the spicy side.. I'm not sure how long they would need to sit in the humi to mellow. Overall, good, but not great. You get what you pay for and this is good value.

"Rich, But Not Filthy Rich"
After smoking the 5 Vegas Series A Anomaly, which was rich for a small cigar, I thought the Alpha would be filthy rich. I was wrong. Still a good tasting cigar, well-constructed and scenic. For the price a very good deal! Think I'll try the Archtype or Artisan.

"Great candidate for a daily smoke."
I'm a big fan of 5 Vegas of late...it's a nice daily companion to my pricier Rocky Patels. The 'A' is a serious smoke, medium to full body with the looks to match. Beautiful, dark wrapper with nice construction if not flawless. The black and gold label is a nice high end touch. This cigar looks and smokes like a million bucks but costs roughly $3 which is solid 'everyday' territory. I've had several and construction and flavor is consistently great. Not much else to say really, just get 'em.

"Best cigar value yet"
What a great value. A flavorful and totally enjoyable smoke. For the money, this series has impressed me. Of the 3 Series A I've tried, this one is right behind the Atomic and well ahead of the Anomaly.

"Excellent Smoke"
Impressive appearance, very well made cigar. Felt solid as a brick, yet had a great draw with dense, flavorful smoke. People near me complimented the aroma of the cigar.

"Nice Great QPR"
I found this cigar to be one of the best values on the market. It had muted elements of what I find in great cigars. Tea leaf element good draw. Nice find. As far as only trying bad cigars from Thompson. Come see my humidor! Many of the finest

"Yeah, take advice from him........."
Sure, take advice from someone with a name that translates "big black cigar" and calls 6 PAGES of reviewers "inexperienced".
This cigar, for the money is a fantastic smoke. Smooth, balanced and made from properly fermented and aged tobaccos. If you have any experience in smoking cigars, you will quickly realize, at less than 3 bucks a stick, this cigar is tough to beat.

"Smoke a real cigar"
Sorry, it must be me. You guys either just started out smoking stogies and buy all that baloney on Thompsons promos or you've never experienced a good cigar.

"Pure excellence"
A very full bodied cigar with a hefty aroma. Mine came absolutely black in color which faded slightly after a couple months. Some hints of espresso and great ash. Not a beginner's smoke, but spectacular once your palate is ready for it.

"This is a simply great cigar"
Wow, should we be telling the world about this one! This is one of those values in life you really don't want to go away. This cigar was well constructed, for certain had peppery flavor throughout, and was smokable well past the band. I won a sampler of several Series A sizes on the 'net and this is the first to be tried. I wouldn't hesitate to offer this to a best friend or smoke one on a nice spring afternoon on the porch.

"A great cigar, hands down!"
This cigar reminds me of a Werther's Original (sweet, creamy, and just plain good!). Burns very well, excellent construction, lots of smoke. Never harsh and good spice at the end. Will be buying more of these guys!

This cigar was great! The only complaint there could be is the ash didn't stay on long, 3/4-1"...other than that great cigar.

"It's good, but not that good."
When I saw that the Alpha had jumped to the top of the "Under $6" list I decided I better go home and smoke another to see if I had missed something the first few times around; I'm sticking with my assessment. I've smoked most of the excellent A line and I have to say the Alpha is probably my least favorite. Not that it's not a good cigar, but I don't think it develops quite as well as the Apocalypse or the Apostle, and for some reason the Alpha flavor always gets a little funky before I'm ready to put it out, leaving me with the harsh aftertaste. Maybe I just need to put it out halfway through . . .

"Best cigar money can buy!"
With a rich, toothy, chocolaty wrapper around such fine long filler tobacco this is one of my favorites. Similar in taste to the Partagas Black label, but beats the Partagas Black hands down when it comes to hip national bank. I like a dark, rich flavorful cigar and would recommend this 7 days a week and twice on Sunday. Note: great after dinner cigar, with liquor or coffee.

"A consistent flavor bomb"
Definition of consistent quality and flavor. I have been smoking for 5 years and this is in my top 10 smokes. I have about 200 of these at home in various sizes but I think this is my favorite. Personally I take the cedar off before aging, that's just me. Medium bodied - a must try!

"A tremendous value"
Have tried about 20 different brands of cigars in the last two months, and this is the first one I intend to order a full box of. Not only is the price right, but this is a smoke you just don't want to put down. Better than many far more expensive cigars.
