"Delicious"
This was my second 601, the other being the green (oscuro) label. Got it from my local about two weeks ago and pulled it out tonight. Good looking cigar with a dark wrapper that was almost velvety to the touch. Cap was seamless and not a single vein was visible. This thing produced thick, rich smoke with flavors of leather and earth. Classic maduro sweetness on the finish as well. Draw was perfect and the burn was straight. Did need a few corrections due to some tunneling but nothing major. With about an inch and a half to go though the roll started to get loose and the smoke got hot. Flavors began to get pretty harsh as well. Had to abandon this one a little earlier than I would have liked to. Overall, this was still a great cigar that I would recommend to anyone. I paid a lot less than the other reviewer here so I guess that definitely helps with my rating. It's gonna be hard to let the red label I picked up today sit after having smoked this one.

"worth keeping a couple on hand"
After five months, I still ran into a wobbly burn, but the flavors were better balanced throughout. My feelings about the price are largely unchanged, but it's an excellent smoke nonetheless. For those who haven't tried the 601 Blue line, it's exactly what you'd expect (in a good way) -- the trademark Don Pepin flavor with a little sweet-earthy-coffee maduro kick. I don't necessarily find them box-worthy, but I plan to keep a single or two around.

"nice, but too rich for my blood at $9"
Beautiful stick. Draw was fine, though the burn line wandered on the second half. Needed one big touchup. Leathery, a little woody, and increasingly earthy. Medium to full body. The filler was more prominent than the wrapper, as the classic maduro sweetness and coffee flavors didn't show up until the final third. Very nice smoke but for the price.
