"mild and really nice"
Let's start with the construction - perfect. Excellent draw, aroma, flavor though the wrapper was quite toothy. Took this out of the humi after about a year and had it as a nightcap. Short clean finish with a touch of sweetness. flavors ranged from very light spice to sort of nutmeg or vanilla with light leather tones. Very good cigar.

"suprising"
the astons ive had were pretty mild, so i expected this one to be no more than medium... it turned out to be stronger than i thought, but still not more than medium... my buddy called it "sneaky strength." i was pulling chocolate and coffee from it... it was smoothe with a beautiful white ash. it had a light draw to it and i liked the way it burned... it didnt seem to get warm until you were almost on the fire and the temperature of the smoke stayed the same until it was almost done... it was definately more than i anticipated... a suprising smoke... i loved it

"Smooth, mild maduro"
I was expecting a very strong tasting smoke given the dark wrapper, but this aged maduro is mellow generally. The taste was a medium bodied blend of dark chocolate, expresso and sweet caramel, while being smooth the entire time. Construction is top tier with great draw and tight ash. If you like a more mild maduro compared to other regular ones on the market this one will be for you.

"nice"
Smoked one while crappie fishing. Smooth and medium in body. Complex coffee and chocolate abound. The one I smoked was slightly plugged but I have one more so we'll see. Smoked down to 2 1/2" before it fell in the water. What a shame. Can't wait for my next time out.

"Wonderful..."
This is just my favorite "special occasion" smoke. A little bit pricey for a daily stick, but not too outrageous to enjoy regularly. Not the prettiest maduro wrapper I have ever seen, but it tastes heavenly from start to finish. Burn and construction were typical Ashton quality. Wonderful draw with plenty of flavoral smoke--but not too much to overpower you or others in the vicinity. Mildly sweet, nutty tones with a wonderful chocolate finish and pleasant aftertaste that lingered. It stayed smooth down to the end--a definate "finger burner". I recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality mid-price maduro. You won't be sorry!

"A top shelf option"
I had two of these in the fabulous El Gaucho Cigar Room (Seattle) and no doubt the atmoshere shaped my experience. I way over-paid for it as a "single" off their menu, but in truth, it was a step up from my usual ERDM Robusto Oscuro. The flavor was complex with a hint of baker's chocolate. Great smoke aroma and plenty of thick white swirls with each draw. The wonderfully tight ash would have held the full 5" I think, had I not compulsively tapped it off after 2". The burn (started expertly by the lovely cigar-girl, Ashley) was even, the stick never got "hot", and the flavor never "went over" at the end. I'll probably not drop the $180 for a box, but I will pick up a couple here and there for special occasions. No complaints whatsoever.

"Good but 1D"
This cigar burned nicely and was fairly robust, I'd call it a medium+ body. It was consistently clean and smooth with a quality maduro flavor to it, but was otherwise pretty plain. I had to purge it twice, and it turned harsh at about 1.5 inches. Not bad, but not a good value.

"Great overall"
First few pulls a little dry and bitter, the rest was fairly complex and bittersweet. Burn was pretty close to excellent, and there was lots of smoke. Would try again.

"very good cigar"
this was the first ashton maduro i have smoked. i went to the shop to get some RyJ reserve maduros but they were out and recomended this. nice smooth appearance, well made, easy to light. the flavor was very unique; not quite like anything ive had before. very creamy with a little charcol/chocolate flavor. i had to put it out about half way down (little brother in the car), but about a 1/4 inch into the relight, the draw got real tight, ended up throwing almost half the cigar out. thats a shame too at the price.

"Excellent medium-bodied maduro"
I had read some other reviews noting it to be a mildish cigar, from which I did *not* expect something really good. However, on light it was nicely earthy and cocoa/maduro in flavor and progressed to a solid medium+ bodied maduro. This cigar, the RyJ Reserve Maduros and Torano 1959's really define to me a good maduro. The other two are a little stronger, but this was clean and smooth with fine flavor (but little complexity) to the last 1.5" where it turned a bit harsh. Except for the price I would turn to this every time for a solid maduro, but I think the Torano 1959 Robusto is about as good at half the price.

"An overall good smoke"
A good cigar, good flavor, mild not harsh. Expected a stronger flavor from a maduro, but the aged tobacco made it a smooth smoke.

"Ok"
After reading other comments I might have gotten a bad one. Was slightly bitter. The #10 (m) is one of my favorites. Will try again.

"ashton size 6 3/4 by 48"
This was the best non cuban cigar I have ever experienced. Maduro wrapper tasty. Slight uneven burn and draw but that just made it last longer...MOST Excellent smoke.

"Sweet"
Rec'd this in a trade and it was fantastic. Nice dark and literally sweet wrapper. The sweetness was not a baccarat type flavor, but a rich dark sweetness.
Loved it, but can't honestly say I would buy a box only due to the high prices.

Truly a "chocolate bar" as it was first described to me a year ago. It's been my favorite smoke ever since and nothing compares at the price. Rich, pleasing aroma that even gets me compliments from non-smokers and smokers alike.
