"Gi-normous and Tasty"
I smoked 2 sizes of the vsg over the holidays and was impressed by the amazing flavor. Thick wafts of aromatic smoke filled the air. The flavor was slightly sweet with a seemingly infinite, woodsy-spicy finish. One of the best I have ever had. My only complaint is due to personal preference; the ring gauge is frippin' huge, which is why I enjoyed the corona gorda size more. In any case, a must smoke.

"An amazing cigar"
I've been saving this one for a while. Having picked up some more I can say I'm in love with this cigar. Everything about it is simply amazing. Looks, draw, burn and taste. Actually a good value considering how it compares to other smokes costing twice as much.

"Passing the time away..."
One of the best 2-hour smokes you will find. This cigar is like smoking several different fine cigars; it will subtly change flavors as you enjoy it. Make sure to carve out about 2 hours of uninterrupted time, and have a nice single-malt scotch and water to compliment it. Wonderful cigar!

"Now this is worth the $$"
This has to be the most reasonable cost to size cigar out on the market, granted they are a pain in the @$$ to find sometimes. All VSG's have quite a distinctive flavor, construction was excellent for such a big guy, draw was near perfect. Really enjoyable, great value.

"Wow"
Full bodied cigar, Powerful punch of a smoke. Not for new comers. Burns evenly, draw is fine. Cofee and leathery taste on the pallet. End of cigar is not as exciting. Nice gray smoke and to enjoy this smoke, you must smoke it slowly.

"Solid, nice smoke."
Enjoyable smoke. Good construction. Slightly oily wrapper. Gray smoke, slightly uneven burn. Went very well with a glass of Port.

"Simply Awesome"
This cigar is full bodied and not for newbie smokers. The flavors are powerful and I was left buzzed upon completion. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF THE SMOKE!

"Great mother of a smoke"
Wow I love VSG's and this big sucker is just more to love. Granted it's a little mellower than the skinny ones, but the flavor is great on this big smoke. Construction was very very good too for such a large smoke, they ususally have problems with the burn. I have never had a problem with the burn if I keep them at 65% humidity, then they smoke perfect. ZPersonaly this is my favorite VSG now. And one of my top 5 altime smokes. Just wished they didn't cost so much.

"I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!"
Everyone seems to love these and I just can't get that excited about them. They're not bad - just not worth the hype or the price. This one had been in my humidor for over two years. It had all the flavors people talk about, (leather, coffee, spices, etc.), but it also had a lot of that funky Dominican flavor. Also, it turned really grassy with three inches left despite having smoked it very slowly. In short, it was not a great cigar, but it was not bad enough to toss either. It would be ok if it were half the price. (I think I paid around $15).

"yummy"
As a previous poster mentioned, i think the bigger versions of the VSGs are a little milder than the smaller ones.
Very small veins in the wrapper here, with black spots adorning it. Hard to the touch. A fine draw given its size. Bleach white ash. Cool, even, coned burn.
Lots of smokes, Dominating tastes were leather, oak, and spice. Flutters of gaminess and whiskey.
Nice and balanced. Little bit of a buzz.

"Time and Money"
This is a pricey cigar, but it will last you two times as long as most smokes too. I found it to be on the medium edge of strong with a little bitterness at the end. Not for the feint of heart or short of cash.

"Great smoke if you have the time"
No. 7 in Cigar Aficionado's top 25 cigars of 2004. It's enormous with the characteristic rugged, streaky, and oily wrapper. It may be too big for its own good: the draw is fine but there were a few minor burn inconsistencies that needed retouching and bits of wrapper tended to peel off; not the typical top-notch Ashton construction, but still very smokable. It's a tasty smoke with a nice mix of black coffee, leather, and dark cherry flavors. Curiously, it isn't as strong as the smaller ring VSGs, but it does have more balance and elegance. A small buzz does result afterwards as it's nearly a 2-hour smoke. An excellent value at around the MSRP; it's a premium cigar, and there's plenty of it.

"Good job Ashton"
So i pull one of these out of my humidor after being disapointed by a padron 1964 and this baby did the trick. Tons of spicy and creamy smoke came out of this one. Definitly making it inot the starting line up with the DonCarlos Presidente and the Anejo

"Among the best"
Huge and imposing this cigar is strictly for seasoned smokers. The Ecuadorian wapper is pretty dark and silky smooth. Very well made although the burn becomes a little uneven towards the end. The flavor is superb as it starts full bodied and spicy but gradually mellows out and becomes more refined. This is an ideal cigar to be smoked indoors with a nice glass of port as the weather begins to turn a bit cooler. You'll get a bit of a buzz after finishing this one.

"Shaq Daddy"
If I were Shaq I would smoke these all day, because if you want: biggest, smoothest, tastiest then buy these. It has everything. This is THE Sit Down on a Weekend and Watch a Ballgame Smoke smoke

"Blat!"
So I pop 14 bucks each for two of these stchiks. Looks good. Prelight draw...OK. Fire the thing up and it goes downhill. I keep waiting for something great to happen here. Nuthin. It stinks (literally), and two thirds down I give it up, in the disposal she goes.

"Absolutely great cigar"
i went into this cigar with some expectations, but i never would have expected such a wonderful smoke. right from the beginning, the cigar lit well. the burn was perfect, giving me a 2+ inch white ash. the flavor was smooth through out the entire smoke. 12.50 might seem a bite high for some, but its worth every penny. it doesn't have quiet the flashy look a DC Maximus or a Opus X has but nonetheless this is a marvelous smoke.

"Wow...Gigantic"
This is a bit spicier than I like, but the quality was excellent. I tried this stick with a snifter of Patron Anejo...and it knocked me out. Expensive...Hyped...but very good.

"good cigar"
A very good, full bodied cigar that is actually very smooth. I'm a newbie but bought a box for the child’s birth and wasn't disappointed (actually went back to buy a few more for myself). I have yet to try the Padron Anniversary 1964, but hope to within a few weeks

"Phenomenal"
This has to be one of the best full bodied cigars out there. From the moment you pick this up, you know that you will be smoking something special. The wrapper is smooth and oily...an almost sensuous experience (go ahead and stroke it a few times - however you may want to make sure you're alone when you do this 🙂 ). After clipping, the pre-light is perfect. This has a wonder cedary finish that stays on your palate for ages. Billows of smoke with a tight white ash that stays on for at least two inches. I've smoked at least a dozen of these and each has been as good as the previous one. Make sure you have at least two hours to enjoy this stogie and have your favorite drink at hand (I find that a strong mocha coffee is a good compliment).

"A Magnum Opus"
If cigars were classified in terms of musical acheivement, then this is Ashton's Magnum Opus. Draw, construction and slow burn are all fantastic. Full-bodied, rich, complex flavors that explode on the palatte, and very smooth. This is really all you could ask for in a cigar. Only the Padron Anniv's and CAO Cameroon's are this good!

"Good"
This is a good strong cigar with flavor of it's own and complex taste. Starts with some earthy tones and builds up to some spice and leather. Last third of it gets bitter.

"A wonderful smoke."
A wonderful smoke. Beautiful wrapper, complex tastes, great ash, perfect Fuente construction. One of the best anywhere, including the Havanas. I like this one better than the Opus X. Expensive, so not an everyday smoke, but worthy of a special celebration, for sure!
