"sturdy"
This cigar has a much more sturdy wrapper than most Cameroons. Taste was good with cocoa predominating. Draw was perfect which is unusual for a CAO, which are usually too tight. Enjoyable all the way around. Recommended box press.

Great burn and perfect draw. It has a very smooth, woodsy/sweet taste. It burns very cool and it a true pleasure to smoke. The very best cameroon out there! It's a bit pricy but well worth the expense.

"Good cameroon"
I smoked this cigar with a Coke out on the porch tonight. The wrapper is toothy, but they are not very pronounced. The construction is flawless....no complaints. The prelit aroma reminds me of leather with some sweet tobacco mixed in. The draw was perfect...not too tight, not too loose. The flavors were leathery, nutty, and earth in abundance in that order. This cigar did not seem to change too much as I smoked it until the end when it went a little weird (I swore I tasted shrimp?). Other than that it was good.

"Perfect cigar on a wet and windy day!"
I got this cigar from my bro and was eager to try it out. The look and construction were good and the draw and burn was simply perfect. I had a nice 2 inch ash before it fell off in the ashtray. Lots of creamy smoke billowed out of this thing. A med bodied cigar with wood and dry/toasty flavors. Also had some leather and spice. A good little cigar when you are short on time. Thanks Drew for the smoke... it was great!!

"pretty darn good"
Nice, solid looking cigar with a heavy box press and medium brown wrapper. Draw was just a bit on the loose side at 64%rh. Pre-light aroma was strong cocoa. First third: spicy, even burn, nice cameroon flavor. Second third: woody flavor, not so much cammy. Medium-full body and flavor. Burn got uneven & had to correct, and it got really soft & hot. Plenty of nicotine, had to put it down with 1/3 left. Too cold out to finish it anyway! Overall, lots of tasty smoke made it enjoyable overall. Would smoke again if it was cheaper; at this price I prefer the Fuente Don Carlos. This specimen was well aged on the shelf at the local shop.

Just got done with this one, it was a cool breezy afternoon and this mildy spicy treat was good. After the first ash it developed a nice earthy flavor with a hint of spice. Great burn and draw after first ash, look forward to the rest of the 5er I got.

"Really nice!"
Though I wasn't a fan of the Corona or the equally sized Tubo no.1 this cigar is really good. Very spicy and with the cameroon twang at light, this settled down into a smooth toasty cameroon laden flavor for the first half. The second half built smoothly to a med/full sweet earthy taste that was really excellent and unexpected given previous experience with this label. Two thumbs up!

"WOW! What a punch."
This is an excellent full bodied cigar! I do not favor the machine pressed cigars but I hold the C.A.O. L'Anniversaire Camaroon Robusto with exception. I should also mention that this cigar is not for begginers. The flavor is powerful. I highly recommend them. I purchase a second box to age in one of my humidors while I currenlty enjoy the first.

"Mild, yet nice smooth flavor."
Smoked three of these now. First was a dog. Second a champ. So was the third. It went very well with the Sunday morning after breakfast, coffee-newspaper routine. Very smooth, slightly sweet tobacco that had a delicate "cammy twang" through it. I doubt the full flavored crowd would enjoy these except at breakfast. Tobacco Road is right , I had a Perdomo 2 not too long ago and they are very similar to these. I don't like the value here at $6. I got mine for $4.50. These are nice but have pricey MSRP.

"So much like a Perdomo 2"
These CAO's are so much like the Perdomo 2, I couldn't believe it. That's probably not too suprising since Perdomo makes them. The P 2 is smoother though and doesn't bite the tongue like these do. Check it out for yourself.

"Disappointed"
A rough looking box pressed cigar. It was a little on the veiny side with some tooth. The pre-light draw was tight and I was concerned that it would be a tough smoke. It light easily and started the first couple of puffs were indeed tight, but it loosened up quickly. Unfortunately, at about the same time the wrapper split in several places. This problem continued throughout the cigar. As soon as I smoked through a cracked section, a new section would split. It required a few touch-ups throughout. I had a hard time placing flavors other than a persistent nutty flavor. I was hoping for a better smoke. I'll chalk it up to a new humidor that took a while to stabilize. It was definitely stored at high humidity (mid 70s) for a couple of weeks, but it was at a consistent 67 for the last 4+ weeks.

"Lost in Love"
What can I say about this cigar? I LOVE IT!! I'm pretty new at this whole cigar thing (I smoke about two a week). Two hours after smoking this thing, I wanted another. The whole next day, I was thinking hardly anything else but having another one. It was that good. If I had to complain about something, I’d say there was draw was almost too easy. You put this baby even close to your face and your mouth fills up with delicious, creamy smoke. And the taste. I’m still trying to figure out all the tastes I’m supposed to notice. All I really get right now is while I’m smoking a cigar, I enjoy the taste or I do not. This cigar had a very pleasant taste (maybe a nutty flavor). Whatever it was, that’s what I want from a cigar. I smoked it to the nub and then through it into my firepit, watching it burn, wishing I could have just a little more.

"ZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZ"
A sharp looking "carpenters" pencil (as floydp states) shaped stick. Burn and draw was perfect. The mildest cigar I have had in a while. In fact it was so mild that I found it completely devoid of any flavor and I fell asleep smoking it.
I am in the vast minority here. There are full bodied smokers who have enjoyed this. Chalk this up to the bad stick of the box? I will retry (maybe in a larger size). An MSRP of nearly $7? That's high. I don't remember what I paid. I'll enter $6.

An excellent cigar! It would be a great cigar to give someone who does not smoke often or has never tried a cigar before as it is easy to somke yet full of very nice flavor. It is slightly sweet, but that does not dominate the experience. I smoked this one down to about an inch before it got too hot. It never once got bitter. All in all, a great cigar

"Consistent mellow smoke"
No. 17 in Cigar Aficionado's top 25 cigars of 2004. Severely pressed into a brick shape, it has a lightly oily and toothy wrapper. It smokes extremely well with an even burn, a lush and easy draw, and plenty of aromatic smoke; the only flaw is that can burn a bit hot. It has a predominant sweet and dry wood taste that starts out a bit sharp but quickly smoothens and becomes more mellow. It's also lightly spicy with some black pepper and ginger flavors. It's a finger burner as it performs well down to the last inch. Has a long finish and leaves a small comfortable buzz afterwards. I've smoked several of these over the past 2 years or so and they've consistently been very good smokes.

"Very pleasurable smoke indeed . . ."
Ahhhh . . . so tasty. Bought myself a box of these several weeks ago, and not one disappointment in the bunch. Starts out mild, and you can taste the presence of the Cameroon wrapper. A little bit later cigar opens up, and you get the full, twangy, spicy, rich and delicious flavor that encompasses this cigar. Not quite as bold as the maduro, which I personally like. This is a great cigar, and the box press makes it even cooler. One of my fav's.

Bought a box 1 year ago. Smoked 2, and felt they were OK, but not great like the ratings had said. Decided to lay them down awhile, and pulled 1 out of the humi last evening. WOW!!! The aroma, flavors, everything had matured and developed in this stick. It did not even taste like the original, with loads of spice, nuts, and wood (smoke was heavy and unreal). This 'gar is pure proof that patience can be virtuous.

"A *HEAVENLY* Smoke fit for royalty..."
I had one of these puppies that was made in 1998. It was a bit tattered, but was one of the greatest smoking experiences of my life. It was given to me by a friend on ASC, and I will bid on them when I find a good deal.

Even with age, these things are like magic. The construction, the even-burning, the immaculate cedary taste that had a faint mintiness, or cooling sensation. Very flavorful, and when you have a cigar whose aftertaste you're enamored with, you've definitely smoked a goody!

I am VERY grateful to the gentleman who gifted me FIVE of them, and they will be my VERY special occasion cigars.
