"Great tasting cameroon"
Nice looking cigar. Cedar wrapped with a nice oily sheen. The construction on these is impressive, excellent draw, lots of smoke. Nice spice with vanilla and caramel notes. These can be had for less than $3 per stick. It is better than many cigars costing twice as much. Highly recommended, especially if your on a budget.

I had high hopes for this cigar and was let down. Although I thought it burned really well and had a pretty good draw it just didnt have the flavor to match. I would classify this cigar as a below average smoke.

"Wonderful Smoke"
Nice mild to medium body cigar with a short finish. Lots of flavor and smoke. It was very creamy and nutty with a little cedar and spice. I walked away from the cigar a couple of times and it never went out. Paired nicely with a Lismore Single Malt Scotch.

"very good"
This will now become one of my go-to cigars. This was abundantly flavored. This cigar did not burn unevenly like its 1959 Exodus cousin. This was enjoyable until the end. There were cedar notes as well as nuttiness. There was noticable spice to it as well. This is definitely among the better smokes that I have had. In my opinion, this beats the 1959 Exodus.

"Plenty of Flavor"
I've smoked several of these 1916 Torano's and each one appears to get better with age. The one I am reviewing today was in the humidor at least 15 months. I agree on the rating with "Kevo", but I didn't experience any draw problems. The taste was moderately complex with chocolate, nuts and some spice. Over a very good cigar for the price, I'm glad I have a few more left!

"Good Cameroon"
The wrapper was toothy and smelled like cedar, hay, and a touch of leather. It smoked very similar to this (and tasted a little nutty as well) and I was only let down by the draw. The draw was bordering on too tight and gave my cheeks some exercise. Otherwise it was a good cameroon. I'll definitely try this one again, but I'll look for a better price.

I love the Torano exodus 59 and figured I would by a sampler of the 1916. I am glad I did. I also had a woodsy taste but it was nice. The cigar is very smooth even green. I actually think this may replace the exodus for me.

"Great cigar for Cammie Fans"
If you like Cameroon-wrapped cigars, you will love the 1916 from Carlos Torano. The flavor is toothy and spicy, with a slight creaminess, never overpowering. This is my second favorite Cammie after the 8-5-8 from Arturo Fuente, and at the price you can find them at online, they can't be beat.

I enjoy a good medium bodied Cameroon wrapper, and this is one of the better ones i have had in a while (see poor performance of Perdomo Reserve). The construction and draw were great throughout. The light cedary wood flavor, with a slight sweet spice were enjoyable to the nub. Great value for the price.

"Nice Medium Smoke"
This 1916 Cam. Robusto stayed in my humidor for somewhere in the neighborhood of 3yrs. I won a canoe race on the Potomac and decided to celebrate by smoking it. With all that aging it was smooth and the tastes of salt and pepper were apparent. I didn't notice much complexity, unlike the Carlos Torano Signature Series. Since it was a Torano the construction was excellent. While this stick was quite enjoyable, it had at least 3 years of age on it. That means that it was probably as good as it gets for this cigar. I just didn't find it as tasty as the silver or gold 1959 series.

"Not Astonishing but Pleasant"
This cigar has been extensively reviewed, and the reviews seem quite fair. Unfortunately this cigar didn't quite do it for me, and will give the rest of my 5 pack some time in the humi to see if things improve. Very attractive cigar, but the draw was exceptionally tight. It burned for a long while - an ideal golf course smoke. Flavors were very unusual + pleasant - wood/cedary overtones, but it didn't have the complexity or depth of the truly top-shelf cigars. Picked up a little more strength as it burned - would rate it a medium-bodied cigar. Excellent aroma - I can see where bystanders would find this pleasant to be around. Real bargain price, especially at $ 3 on C-bid. Lot of good qualities to this cigar, and I'm hoping next few tries will improve my enjoyment of it.

I've had quite a few of these and they are definitely in my "top 5". I love the consistency of construction and flavor, and the draw is flawless. Even if you're not too fond of cammy's, you'll still find these to be a real treat. (If I could change one thing it would be the "typical cigar" after-taste.)

"A truly first class cigar"
Classy, sophisticated, exceptional, exquisite. These are the adjectives that this cigar brings to mind. This is my favorite cameroon. the appearance is beautiful, perfectly rolled, medium brown, firm, with a sheen in a cedar sheath. Nice pre-light aroma. Dry floral pepper on the first ltaste at lighting. Develops more fullness a nice herbal-cedar-woodsy-dry-floral taste. Perfect burn almost every time. Nice solid white ash. Nice aroma to the smoke, women like it. this cigar goes wonderfully with a fine scotch like Glen Fidduch, but a strong smokey Islay would overpower it. Licorice spice herb tea goes well as does a ruby port. Attractive in the hand. It will draw compliments. Very highly recommended.

"A Latter Day Revelation"
I got a couple of these in a sampler a few months ago. I gave one away to a friend whose wife just had a baby as a sort of reverse baby cigar. I lit up the other last night. This is one I had been eying in the humi ever since it showed up there. I knew it was going to be a good one. And it was. Although it had some burn issues and the wrapper started unraveling it just tasted so unusual, unusual in very intriguing and delicious way. I don’t know if I can even describe the flavors. Kind of sweet full and solid. Very good. The wind was blowing like a banshee for the first half. I wonder if that didn’t dry out the wrapper, because it did come apart, but not enough to ruin the experience. I had to touch it with the flame occasionally to keep it along. I have gifters remorse for the one I gave away. Gonna have to try to get some more of these.

"Among the best"
This is one of the best Cameroon wrapped cigars on the market, in my opinion. When its very reasonable price is factored into the equation, this smoke beats Fuente’s Hemingway line hands down. The first few puffs are earthy and smooth, and then the cameroon spice takes over. The ash is white and a bit crumbly. It’s a very slow burning cigar, lasting over an hour. The smooth flavor continues throughout, and ends with a woody flavor spiked with a sweet spice that lingers in the nose. Fine construction, though the wrapper is a bit reluctant to burn at times. Given its flavor, this reluctance is entirely forgiven. Excellent smoke, and at this price, irresistable.

"Smoke it Slow."
This stick was absolutely amazing last night. One of those mindblowing flavor experiences that you wish you could have more of. Reviewers Maverick and RedBeard mention smoking these slowly. I usually slurp them down too fast and I am glad I went slow with this. This stick, smoked to the nub, lasted an hour and 40 minutes. The Cameroon wrapper had that greyish brown color to it...nothing great, just typical cameroon. The draw was perfect. Burn was slightly uneven but nothing the old pocket prince torch couldn't easily correct. Flavor started out with that "cameroon twang" which was very smooth, delicate, and relaxing. I thought I was in store for a mild and nice one dimensional experience. Wrong. The second third of the stick opened up and became more medium bodied. I noticed some honey, floral, and milk chocolate notes. Just fantastic. The last third never got hot or harsh and settled into more medium bodied cameroon twang with an occasional cedar, spice and chocolate blast. Aftertaste was exceptional. I didn't want to brush my teeth before bed. Paid 2.60/stick. At that price a "10" in value. Even at the MSRP of $4 this would have been a "10". I shall smoke a few more from the five pack and as long as they come close to last nights experience I will definitely be laying down a box in the 'dor.

"Becoming a favorite"
Very attractive cigar here, but I'm a little miffed by the fact that the lower band covered a decent sized hole in the wrapper--sneaky. This is a great medium bodied cigar, though, otherwise very nicely constructed, firm with a good slow burn and fine draw. Complex cedar and pepper with sweet undertones. such a solid smoke. came in cedar so i decided i'd try something new: lighting it with the cedar. never done this before, so i didn't know what to expect. beautifully presented and constructed. perfect burn, perfect ash, perfect draw, great amounts of smoke. i actually drew more frequently than normal, but it never really got bitter. first third the cedar really hit. definately more intense than without lighting the cedar, but still, i know the cedar and other woodsy tones would still be there. then during the middle third, still woody with some spice thrown in, . great medium bodied cigar. last third was about the same, just a tad more spice. haven't had many toranos, but i am more impressed every time i have one. just overall: it's a solid cigar, for a very decent price.

"Quality smoke from Torano"
This cigar is rather long for a robusto and to me feels more like a toro. Partially wrapped in a sleeve of cedar, it has an oily, veiny, and toothy wrapper, rich in color. It has a good draw and a slightly uneven burn that doesn't require any retouches or relights. Initially starts with a dry wood flavor, but warms up nicely, showing coffee and pepper flavors with some sweetness. A bit harsh at the end, maybe from smoking too fast (as suggested by the previous reviewers). While I prefer the Exodus '59 and Casa lines, this is still a good smoke at an excellent price.

Thick stick with an above-average appearance. Flavor was spicy overall; not very complex. The problem arose in the construction. The cigar tunneled all the way through, causing an awful burn. I'm not past recommeding it, since it was a good value and a smooth smoke. It was just the construction of this stick that caused problems.

I did not like this cigar the first time I tried it. After letting a few rest for 3-4 months, I decided to try again. Very much improved. Lit it up right out of the cigar shop's walk-in humidor, and a third of the way thru, the wrapper split open from a bulge in the binder (or filler) that wasn't there immediately after lighting. Looked nice before lighting. A little veiny in the wrapper, but nothing to complain about. Good flavor, but nothing to write home about. Got a bit bitter towards the end. If you don't like the 1916s, You don't like cigars. Great taste. Not the smoothest in the World, but awesome flavor and aroma. I take the celo and wood of for a week or two before I smoke these. I'm on my 2nd box.

"Wonderful!!!"
A beautiful and well made cigar! Started very smooth with a round and creamy fullness. After a while, tones of wood got stronger as well as overall strength. Perfect with coffe or something sweet as a compliment. People with bad experiences must have smoked the cigar too young or too moist!

"Disappointed"
Not as good as hyped. Suprisingly strong with a harsh taste. Was not able to finish this one with the combination of a heavy nicotine blast and unpleasant flavor.

"Good Smoke."
First impression was very spicy, like fragrant leather rubber with cayanne. The spice mellowed and a bittersweet chocolate flavor took over. Burned well.

"???"
A good looking cigar, with a shiny brown wrapper that sports pretty veins. Construction seems solid & the draw is ok, but have noticed some uneven burn. Now I've only had these for a couple of weeks, but alas, I'm afraid I'm a victim of overhype. Nice Cameroon flavor here, with a woodsy undertone. Some other more complex notes flirt in the sinus, but they are very elusive. A nice cigar, but I believe a Partagas has better balance.

I never wanted it to end, I had tried the torpedo first but this is a close second. Even draw with just the right amount of flavor and smoke.

"Mellow and Flavorful"
Comes in a classy shaped wood box individually cedar wrapped. Well constructed firm cigar. Starts out smooth and builds to a woody complex flavor. Nice long white grey ash. Nice long burner. Reminds me of a Gurka Expedition Toro with a little more complexity and flavor. My new favorite cigar.

"Late bloomer?"
I wish I had the experience most of the reviewers did. But no not me. Again I bought a cigar with great anticipation only to be disappointed. Great construction, good burn, one dimensional, harsh, cameroon flavor is all this 'gar had to offer.

"Can't beat the value"
This toothy cigar’s oily Cameroon wrapper and long white ash make for a beautiful smoke. Medium bodied with a good deal of smoke, this is what a Cameroon should be. Torano strikes a nice balance between sweetness and spice and follows it up with a long cedary finish. Fantastic construction and a flawless burn should make this a new found favorite.

"flava"
The unique but elegant flavor was very prominent from the first draw to the last. The wrapper was beautiful and not as fragile as the torano sig wrapper. The burn and draw were close to perfect. All in all a fantastic smoke for the price. I am becoming a big fan or torano.
