"not bad"
The funny thing is that I did not realize this was a Cameroon wrapper until I started the review...

Aside from this, the cigar was good. The construction was decent, although there were a few minor burn issues that i had to touch up during the smoke. There was some unevenness. There was resistance when I drew, but nothing too bad.

The flavors were unlike those that i had experienced. There was an almost malty, carob chip like taste and finish. It was nothing harsh or bitter. In this sense, it was somewhat unidimensional, but it did the job it needed to do. This was a sipping cigar, as smoking quickly would render it bitter.

This was an interesting Cameroon cigar, and one that I will definitely remember.

"Best of the Torano's"
The whole Torano line is fantastic but this is my favorite. Everyone has there own preference on taste (what's good to me may not be good to you) but I can smoke this gar after any meal, with any drink at any time and it never fails to provide great flavor, beautiful smoke and a wonderful smell. I let'em sit in the humi for about 6 months in 70 deg & 68% hum. and there good to go. The longer they sit the smoother they get.

"Needs to rest"
I've had two of these. I smoked the first after it had rested in my humidor for about three weeks or so. It was very nice. It surprised me, since I prefer maduros. After getting a box, I smoked one with only two days in the humi. I thought that since they had a humidifying packet in the box in which they came, they didn't need the rest. I was wrong. I wrestled with the cigar for an hour. I had to relight, as it seemed to require faster smoking than my CAO Brazilias (best cigar ever). When I got it right, the cigar was tasty, spicy, and great to smoke. However, there were harsh undertones I know go away with some time in the humi. Great after some rest! Ratings based on my first of these cigars

"Finally another very good Torano"
Ever since I had my first Torano from the Exodus line I've been looking for a smoke from that brand to match that one's high calibre. My two Toranos following that one left me extremely underwhelmed. With this 1916, CT has redeemed himself. Torano makes gorgeous looking cigars that burn very well, but never perfectly. This one has a wonderfully luscious draw, but remains light and burns long, hot, and smooth. Another cigar featuring earthy notes of nut and vanilla. Quite enjoyed this one.

I had sat down a box over 2 years ago and recently pulled 2 to smoke. A musky Cameroon taste permeated each cigar the whole way through. The age had really done wonders for the character.

"Solid experience!!"
This cigar was resting in my humi for about 3 months. Everything about the experience was very good. Construction was outstanding but I also noticed that the ash fell quickly, (usually right in my lap). Fairly creamy, lots of smoke, great draw. Fairly short finish, basically everything was very good for this price. Recommended!!

What a good smoke, if you love cameroon wrappers like do you will love this smoke. It's long smoking and delicious. I was suprised at how mild this big fellow was. I love the cedery taste the sleeve puts on a cammie wrapper. Lots of earthy flavors it this smoke boys. It produced lots of creamy smoke from a perfect draw, no need to age these beauties there ready when ya get em. Excellent smoke.

When you light this beautiful looking cigar, the draw is so full it knocks you back a step or two. It won't quit burning, straught white ash that doesn't seem to hold on. Great earthy flavor. Caught my biggest bass on this one so I Highly Recommend!

"Great Cigar Carlos !"
Smoked thsi one while trimming some trees on a cool Fall Day. The Cap was a bit damaged when I received it about a year ago. Fixed that with my Xicar cutter - otherwise looked inviting. Good draw and burned evenly evn in a slight breeze. Taste was mild to medium creaminess with minimal aftertaste. I'm glad I have another one.

"A Fine Smoke"
A very nice looking double-banded cedar sleeved torpedo that will please any cameroon lover. Mild to medium bodied, with an earthy base that grows stronger as you savor this baby to the nub. I smoked this one as soon as I purchased it from my local tribal tobacconist and it needed no down time whatsoever. And at this price you absolutely can't go wrong.

"Put 'er in the humi friends."
The first couple of these I smoked, I smoked pretty young and I experienced some real draw problems. Fish-faced and sulking, I returned to ye ole tobaccanist and bought one more, threw it in the humi for 8 months, and tried again. What a difference! How oily and spongy that thing got still gives me the willies. And the flavor was thrice the better after it had aged. Buy some and let 'em soak!

"Mild but very nice smoke"
Attractive cigar with a smooth wrapper with small veining. Lit well and burnt fairly even with a long ash

The medium flavor was smooth and yielded a sensational blend of sweet spices and dark roasted coffee to start and than offered more of a floral spicy middle and finished with a nice woody taste.

I would recommend to new & exp smokers

"A big slow burner."
The first one I had out of the box was a little harsh but after the box sat for a few months, wow! This is a big, beautiful cigar with a shiny, oily dark wrapper. It is a powerhouse and not for the faint of heart but aroma and taste are outstanding. Be prepared to put in the time for this big slow burning cigar, it's worth it.

"Good Cameroon"
A stately cigar wrapped in a long cedar sleeve and bearing a pair of dark green and gold bands proclaiming its heritage, the torpedo shape was perfectly executed with a graceful taper and a sharp point. The light colored Cameroon wrapper was smooth and dry, tinged with a light green cast, and tiny bumps showed just a hint of the tooth to come. The wrapper itself was very fragile and had cracks in several locations along its length; it seemed a bit dry to the touch and crackled a bit under pressure.

A shallow cut revealed the filler nicely bunched within, and the cigar sprang to life with a sputtering initial flavor of floral like notes against a rear curtain of dry sage. Slightly harsh, the cigar started with a medium light body which built gradually into a medium and then full bodied powerhouse. Almost immediately the burning cigar began to burst spontaneously from its wrapper, tearing aside and throwing off the fragile Cameroon as if shrugging from a too tight coat. Still, the wrapper stayed close enough to the side to lend its signature spice to the blend as the stick smoked straight and sure and, after a thick black burn line, left a long, persistent ash colored light gray with darker shadows on the surface.

This was not a sweet tasting cigar. I tried to enjoy it with a chocolate chip muffin and a decaf mocha, but the cigar easily overpowered the chocolate, leaving in its wake a slightly dry finish resplendent of the sappy smell of fresh sawdust and a touch of asphalt. As was typical to a torpedo, the narrow opening focused the flavor directly on the tongue, amplifying it and eventually closing down the draw until a second cut opened it up again at the halfway mark. At this point the power really hit with bold strokes and the creeping effects of nicotine began their assault. The aroma was crisp and somewhat sharp.

Overall this was a very elegant large torpedo with clean attractive packaging. The fragile Cameroon wrapper detracted from the experience somewhat as it rent and frayed, but it was still a generally pleasant experience. I love the torpedo shape for the focus and evolution in character it offers and this cigar was a good example of the breed. I have to note that I believe the smaller ring sizes of this brand offer a more noticeable spicy Cameroon experience. Recommended

"cameroon #1"
these are a great cigar, the only complaint is once in awhile you may get one that has construction problems other than that not many cigars beat these in the flavor department, they under go changes through out the stick with hint of cinnamon, tea and cedar coming through try one of these but take the time to enjoy it with a good glass of port or your favorite grog

"nice smoke"
Just smoked one this evening. Started out with a to easy draw but after a ince or so the draw becomes near perfect with a good amount of smoke. Nice spicy and woody taste, it reminds me of some cubans a smoked but without the power. Its more on the mild of medium with a strange fresness the whole smoke trough. Good Torano cigar with one thing happening, the cammie wrapper bursted in several place (the gar didn't get hot) and prefented to burn otherwise razor sharp.
