"Competition for RP 92?!"
At least in my book it does! The flavor was toasty at ignition, then developed into a maduro profile with some spiciness on the back of the tongue. About halfway I got distinct wood (cedar? oak?) and fruit tones while the spice went away. It came back in the final third, along with some definite cherry flavors. The finish was awesome: toasty, slightly woody, with predominant creamy chocolate! Very smooth draw, put out tons of smoke, and never developed any of the burn problems others have mentioned. Medium body, mild side of medium strength.

"Great Smoke"
Smoked this in April 2008. Great start and middle. Very warm, smooth smoke. It had an even burn and a slick, oily wrapper. My best smoking experience to date, though only have been smoking about a year, one cigar per weekend. Will definitely buy again.

"Very tasty"
This is a beautiful cigar. Dark, smooth wrapper, box pressed, solid. Wonderful cocao and coffee flavors with a hint of spice. After the halfway point it got a little stronger with oak and leather. Great maduro experience. The only problem was the 2 that had a tight draw. That spoils the smoke for me if I can't loosen it up, and these were difficult. Will try them again and see if that was just a bad 5 pack.

"Good for the $$"
Not a big fan of Honduran cigars but this was very good for the money spent. Burned evenly throughout the smoke (2/3 of the way) and tasted great. Not sure why the others complained about the burn unless they wern't aged or stored properly.

"construction project"
Besides needing many touch-ups this was a nice tasting cigar. Spicy early, then cocoa, then spicy late. Medium gray ash, A bit of flake on the wrapper. A couple minor holes also. Would smoke again. Decent price point.

"burned my fingers"
I enjoyed this one so much that I smoked it all the way to my fingers. I thought it was a nice looking cigar--dark wrapper and box pressed. It burned very well for me until the final third, where it did start to burn unevenly pretty severly, but I touched it up and rotated it a little more than usual and corrected that. There is plenty of flavor after the first half, but the first half started out milder than I expected. After that the nuttiness becomes stronger and I kept thinking I tasted some chocolate, but it was the weakest of the flavors until the after-taste. As someone earlier said, the after-taste is like eating dark chocolate--all the chocolate flavor without being sweet. I might consider a box of these in the future if I can find a deal on them.

"Nice cigar, but uneven burn."
Every time I smoke a 1959 I always have burn issues during the last third of the cigar. They either tunnel (sometimes) or start to spoon (a lot). Apart from that, this was a nice cigar with a rustic appearance (kind of ugly, I mean) and box-press to them. The flavor was a little floral with a toasted nuttiness to it. There was just a touch of earthiness and full, tobacco flavor. I like the 1959s, I just wish that they wouldn't always become a mess to keep lit during the final stages of smoking them. Still, an enjoyable smoke at a decent price.

"Nope"
I agree with Kevin there. Bought 2 of these to try 'em out. The first one was plugged solid, second one tasted like I left the cello on when I lit it.

"beauty is only skin deep"
A great looking stick with a nice box press and oily sheen. Beyond that, it's average at best. Flavor is okay but turns funky early. Burn required a major touch up. I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't pay for another one, either. Just too many better options at (or below) this price point.

"itsa good"
Tasty maduro smoke. Nice box press with no draw issues. Spicy overtones with hints of leather/cocoa. when i was finished, i had the aftertaste like i just finished eating a dark chocolate brownie---Amazing.

"tasty smoke"
Ive smoked quite a few of these and have liked them all. No burn or draw problems, tasty maduro wrapper, lots of smoke, some spicyness, mostly from the beginning, just mellows out and got a creamy leathery taste.

"Nice one with port"
I thought this guy had a unique flavor to some other great cigars I've been smoking lately. I didn't read it anywhere in anyone else's review, but I got a nice fruity/oaky kind of flavor, like a port that had been well aged in an oak cask. Sort of transitioned into a mellow black pepper type hints in the middle to end. Great start up aroma, great ending taste. Sort of soft construction, however, but I just refilled my humi and the last few days it was a bit high, which may be why. Didn't bother me anyway.

"Great flavor, marginal construction"
A very attractive and solid feeling box-press with an earthy pre-smoke aroma that was a spot on predictor of what it would be once it. I agree with other reviewers here who say that it's not a particularly complex smoke, but what is there is especially satifying peat and leather. It's a decidedly serious tasting blend that seems to be accomplishing exactly what it set out to do flavor-wise, so I have some trouble knocking it for that. The burn was very even, but the draw was tight and got tighter as it burned. That was a bit of a disappointment since I so rarely get a bad draw from a Torano. I bought 10 of these so I'm counting on that draw being a single-stick fluke.

"Not great"
I'm just not a fan of the Torano though many of my friends are. This one burned straight for about 80% and had lots of smoke, but the flavor was earthy and uninspiring. Certainly better cigars out there for 4 bucks. This one had about 6 months in my humi before being smoked.

"One of the best maduros"
This is really my benchmark for maduros. Strong initial flavors, turning med/full maduro with some spiciness and oaky tones. While lacking in complexity, the juicy flavor and consistently good burn makes this a really good choice in the price range. The only downside is I could still taste it at noon the next day!

"Tasty, especially if you like chocolate"
Perfectly pressed and dark in color, this is a gorgeous cigar. The draw is fine, but an inconsistent burn requires attention. With a predominant dark chocolate flavor and some complimentary leather and nutty notes, it's very rich with a mouth-watering texture. The flavors get mellower and creamier as you go along. Some light pepper and grass on the long finish. This is an excellent medium-bodied smoke at a low price.

"Good smoke almost til the end"
Nice cigar with lots of smoke and flavor. Enjoyed till near the end as this one turned a little harsh BUT not till the very end. Otherwise I would get again. I did not age this one & smoked first day out. Was part of a sampler.

"OK now I get it"
Aging dummy its aging. Bought a box, came today. I really didnt like it at all. There were hints of the 9 month old one I smoked last weekend but boy what a difference a little aging makes. These go to the bottom of the Humi till Labor day.

"Me Too"
I'm with Cybergar. This is one fine smoke. Mine came in a sampler and has been resting for about 6 months. Yummy! Had a Punch RC Pita at lunch this in the afternoon on my way to the local gar store. Bought a 64 exclusivo maduro and smoked it on the way home. Call me nuts but this one was my favorite of the day. At $ 4 you gotta be kidding.

"Started good...then went down hill"
I heard this was a great smoke. Frankly, I was dissappointed. The flavor started good, then went to cardboard and got hot pretty quick It burned uneven thought the draw ws pretty good. I bought this as part of a cheap sampler pack...that may be the problem.

"Had a couple more"
I had 2 more of these, they had better construction than the last one. Taste was OK, started off I didn't like it too much, but by a third down it got nicer. Not a bad cigar, but not one I'll run out to buy.

"bland"
Good draw, burned even at first, nice construction, handsome cigar. Smoked it to my fingertips before it got hot. Not a bad smoke, just not much flavor. I t had only two weeks in the humidor...maybe that was part of the problem...

"Not good...."
Draw was tough, pretty much plugged. What smoke I got wasn't too bad. It started canoeing and then the wrapper started unraveling at the same time, so I gave up. I was sucking like crazy to get smoke all this time. Cigar looked pretty before lighting it up, a shame it couldn't be smoked. Cigar was stored in a humidifier @ 68 before smoking, so it wasn't treated poorly. A shame, I was looking forward to this one. Friday cigar?

Dark, heavy, too strong, bitter taste. Well built cigar, but tight draw and nasty taste set the tone.
