La Flor Dominicana 2000 No. 5

strong and harsh,not much else to say,was made well but no real taste

I thought the first 1/2 inch was a bit tasteless but things got interesting after. I picked up some coffee, very little creaminess and a good nutty taste throughout. Contruction was nice with no veins and the burn was consistently even. Slight spiciness towards the middle but it wasn't overwhelming. Good smoke, good price. My first time smoking and probably not my last.

Nice toothy Cameroon wrapper. The pre-light flavor is light & pleasant. There is a sweet floral tone with flashes of spice. The middle part fades to a light pleasant tone. The home stretch develops some nice complexities as you smoke it down. The draw was easy & ash held tight.

Four of these little gems arrived as part of a sampler, and while this was my first experience with La Flor Dominicana, it definitely won't be my last! Excellent construction, draw was just shy of perfect. Tasty cameroon wrapper. First 1/3 of the cigar was surprisingly mild for a dark, oily stick. Held a nice, tight, white/gray 1+ inch initial ash. A more complex/full-bodied woodsy/leathery flavor developed over the last half of the smoke. Never turned harsh, smoked it right down to the nub. A truly enjoyable smoke!
