"A-OK with me"
I picked this one up last night from a B&M in San Antonio looking for a short evening smoke. What a great little cigar this turned out to be. Paired with a Guinness I was in heaven. It packs quite a punch for such a short smoke but I think thats typical for the La Flor line though. Nice flavors of leather and notes of dark chocolate on the finish. Solid construction, clouds of smoke and an even burn topped off what was a great smoke overall.

"always a pleasure"
I love the flavours in this one. nice sweet flavour, notes of chocolate and coffee. thick smokes makes it easy to really get the flavour. perfect smoke when you don't have much time.

"More like what I remember..."
My last experience with this cigar (4-8-2006) was so bad that I hadn't tried another one until last night. The one I fired up had been in my humidor for over a year and a half and it was much more like the first ones that I had enjoyed so much (7-30-05). The pre-light flavor was of rich chocolate. So rich, in fact, that I didn't light it for several minutes and just enjoyed the taste. Once I fired it up, it had many of the same full, leathery, licorice, spicy flavors I had enjoyed in the past, but much more refined than the younger ones. All in all, it was a lively and enjoyable smoke. I’m happy to put these back in to my rotation!

"Not what I remembered"
I used to smoke the El Jocko naturals a few years ago, and happened upon a maduro in a tobacconist's humidor a few months ago and thought "I never see these anymore, let me give it a try." Not a good cigar. For around the $6.00 I paid for this, I was disappointed. Horrible burn, that kept an inch long runner the whole way even with numerous re-lights. First inch was acrid, and then had a taste of burnt caramel the rest of the way. Strong flavor, but unfortunately, not a good one. Appearance and construction looked good, but I was disappointed in this.

"I think I got Enzo's first stick..."
I've smoked a few of these now and have enjoyed all of them - until last night. I don't know exactly what the cause was, but the flavor was just lousy. I've had this one in my humidor for about 7 - 8 months and the last few I smoked right from the tobacco shop, so maybe these sticks don't age well. Whatever the cause, I hope not to repeat the experience I had. Blah! (Note – as always, the construction was perfect; great draw and burn).

"Suprisingly Good"
Picked this one up at the B&M for a quick smoke before a hockey game. It was suprisingly good, with LOTS of smoke and an even burn. Good tobacco flavor with hints of leather and cocoa, it held its ash almost the entire way. Definitely a great little cigar when time is limited. I will smoke another for sure.

"Kewl"
Kewl looking cigar with excellent burn and draw, leather and nuts dominate this medium bodied smoke wrapped in sweet maduro. Slow cool burn dark and oily. Quite tasty.

"Big flavor in a small package"
Definitely turd shaped. Obviously small in stature. As hard as stone. Could anything come of this prepubescent stick.....? Hell yes!!! Perfect burn. I only knocked the ash once as I was sure it was about to drop in my lap with it over half burned. Strong punch with a subtleness that is perplexing. Leather tones that were remeniscent of that old leather smoking chair your grandfather has. The finish is a little chocolately, but not sweet. WOW!!! Travis' wife is right...big things can come in small packages.

"OK, I repent 🙂 This one was yummy."
I just pulled another from my humi. It was MUCH better that the first one I tried. So I may smoke them after all. Good solid maduro flavor, quite complex. Smoth taste, no harshness, some sweetness. Even burn. Nice thick smoke. I guess I had major dud before. Which may point to inconsistency. This one had a hard leaf running lengthwise, almost like twig or something, I bet it helped the draw ;). Overall, enjoyable.

"One of the best on the market today"
It sounds like the last reviewer must have got a dud, because this cigar was one of the best I've ever had. Granted, I really enjoy the other La Flor Dominicana offerings, especially the Ligero line, but I don't know how anyone could not appreciate the quality of this cigar. The odd-shaped perfecto was expertly crafted. I've never had such a consistent burn on a cigar – a perfect “ring of fire” around the foot, for you Johnny Cash fans. The ash was powdery and snow white; I only had to knock it off twice during the entire smoke. The flavor was also wonderful. It started with rich leather and spice and ended with dark chocolate. This cigar does come on strong and pack a punch, so I can see why some people with more delicate palettes may not likeit, but there is no denying the quality of the tobacco used or the construction of this stick. Any bad experiences must be due to fluke sticks or a personal preference for lighter cigars.

"Turd"
I am gonna get into troubles, but...
If it looks like a turd, tastes like turd it must be... El Jocko. Well, it is not exactly a dog rocket, but I expected more since everybody is raving about them.
The cigar has interesting perfecto shape. Maduro wrapper is spotty, darker and lighter patches. Not very attractive. Burn is OK.
The biggest disappointment is taste/flavor. It remainded me my recent unpleasent encounter with connies #14. Taste is sweetish, with good nicotine kick, but the flavor is atrocious. Green, grassy, metallic and turdy. I could not smoke it past first inch.

"Clear your Calendar"
Shaped like a just-fed python, and suspiciously short, it redeemed itself instantly. Normally, I enjoy liquor with a cigar, but this one calls for a beer. I had the good fortune of having a Sierra Nevada with it, and the flavors of golden toast that the drink brought out were nothing short of wonderful. To say that it burns slowly is an understatement. Though an easy draw, it stays cool and burns at glacial speed. I watched an entire college basketball game and was only 1/2 way through the cigar. Then, I got trampled in a billiards game, and it had only burned another 1/2 inch. After watching 3 guys strike out with the hot bartender: another 1/2 inch. Finally, after a lengthy story, which I think was either about Vietnam or ply-wood, from the guy sitting next to me at the bar, another 1/2 inch. I left and drove back to my hotel, and somewhere south of San Jose, I finally finished it. I was sad to see it go... we had been through so much together. I hope to have one again soon, but I will set aside plenty of uninterupted time, and have a beer with it.

"Mild with good flavor"
Good flavor for a milder smoke. Taste improved as it went along. Perfect draw. Tons of white smoke with solid ash. Ran 2x but corrected itself. (Part of Blind Taste Test - 2000).
