"Louisiana Cajun"
I age cigars for smoking later in life and i aged this one for 8 years. Unbelievable is all i can say. I gave one to Ricky at Don Juan in B.R. and he too said Unbelievable. Yellow was the color of the wrapper showing its true age. The cigar wrapper was flawless. Pre-lite smell was of tobacco, small hint of citrus. Lightly floral. Light up was beautiful. Smoke, tremendous amounts. Everyone in Don Juan asked what it was. One of the best and most unbelievable cigars we have ever smoked. Get some and let age for a few years. Wish i had more of these. Found them on-line and could only get 8... and they are all gone now. Buying a box to put up... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

"Better"
I was rummaging around in one of my humidors trying to decide what to smoke and I came on one of these. The first one out of this 5 pack was too much spice and too much nicotine. 7 months has helped them out a lot. This one tasted like a cigar, balanced. And there was a little nictine but not so much that I couldn't see straight. Very nice cigar for a lazy afternoon.

"Inconsistent but can be great"
I've had a few of these and surprisingly I have found more than one plugged (probably 1 in 3). I find this surprising considering LGC's reputation for fine construction. When not plugged, these are one of the best values in cigars. A bit sweet, this easy drawing cigar left nuts and mellow wood flavors on the palate though no aftertaste. Burn is off early on but corrects nicely. On one sample one touch-up was necessary after about 1/2 hour but nothing major. These burn quick but not hot. I like quick burning cigars. I can get to something else sooner.

"No Series R"
It's a good medium smoke with a generous draw. It burned a little unevenly for the first third of the cigar, but eventually evened out. The only real downside to the cigar was that it seemed to burn too quickly. I had smoked it down to the nub in about thirty minutes or so. I usually go with the La Gloria Cubana Series R # 5, which has a fuller and more complex flavor and a slower burn.

"Smooth"
Generally smooth, even burn. A few re-lights Light grey, white ash. Smooth taste and very mild. Pleasant to smoke. Cigar smelled excellent and wrapper was just slightly oily, with no veins.

"Consistent, Creamy, and Strong!"
What I love about these is the consistency - I haven't had a bad roll, yet. Packed solid for a good burn and effortless draws of abundant smoke. This cigar seems to harken back to the pre-Castro Cubanos of the 1950s: flavors of vanilla cream intermixed with good, mellow tobacco deliciousness. About halfway through, I tend to notice a full feeling in my belly - these babies are strong, but not in a head-ringing way - just good, strong nicotine without the jitters of corojo cigars. Buy a box and buy often!

"DR's are Different"
In the early 90's I used to buy these from Florida directly from the shop before LGC was purchased by the big company and moved. I just can't get with the newer DR version, and I stopped buying the DR version -if that says anything. The wrappers are now typical fare and no where near as delicate and smooth as the best days in Florida. Also, the flavor lacks finesse. A few DR's have been good, but not enough to keep me interested anymore.

"Fair"
Got this stick in a Thomson Powerhouse 16 sampler. It was a bit dry on the outside with a few pieces hanging off. Wrapper was otherwise veiny and smelled nice. First third of smoke was spicy, but mellowed through the second third. Bitterness reappeared in last third, though more woody. Smoke was clean and vibrant at times. Fairly even burn, somewhat quicker than other Robustos. Overall: "Okay" smoke, not the greatest, not the worst.

"Spice!!!"
I ordered a 5 pack of the Miami MADUROS from Mikes, but I got the naturals instead. Since I have never tried the naturals and since I am too lazy to send them back, I smoked one yesterday. Pretty much it was all spice and little else. Luckily I like spicy cigars and the price is good, so these would make a good 'gar to have around when I feel like something spicy. Trouble was, I smoked this on an empty stomach and the nicotine made me sick. So, into the humidor they go for a year or 2 to mellow out and, hopefully, some other flavors besides spice will come out in them. I'll just give them a 7. Good but not fancy. Good value. I like the maduros better.

"Full Powered, but not Full Flavored"
I've been hearing about this cigar for years, and I was a little disappointed. I was expecting a first tier smoke. The taste was strong, but not that great. Strength does not always equate to taste and this cigar was a good example. I smoked the Perdomo Reserve Cameroon "R" earlier in the weekend and it was almost as strong but had more flavor. It might be good to note that the Wavell was only in the humidor for 2-3 months and another six might smooth it out some.

Great aroma, lots of flavor, I thought it was very smooth as well. I think it would have been better with a few months in the humi.

"A few burn problems, but overall solid"
My first overall experience with LGC was a good one. The only complaint I had was an uneven burn throughout. I had to continually re-light the cigar to keep even burning. The flavor was spicy and fairly consistent throughout. It produced plenty of smoke with a nice draw. Overall a good medium to medium-full stick. I'd smoke it again.

"value smoke"
This core line cigar from LGC has a rugged and veiny wrapper. It smokes decently although the ash is flaky and it needs some relighting. The flavors present include pepper, cloves, and leather; it's similar to the El Rico Habano line but not as strong and spicy. A decent smoke which can be had at relatively low prices.

"Good but tarry"
As with most of the regular LGC line, this cigar is fairly tarry overall. It starts out medium in body, toasty with a nice spice kick. After the first inch they tend to medium body with a sort of indistinct flavor overburdened by the tar. The Serie R is far superior and only slightly more expensive.

"Pepper, pepper, pepper, pepper."
Did I say pepper. This cigar was a spicy, one-dimensional stick. There was no discernible flavor except for pepper and spice. Kind of like when you have hot peppers that are so hot you can't taste a flavor, only the spiciness of the pepper. I know that LGCs need some time in the humi to mellow a bit, and I'm surprised that this was what I got after 3 months in the humidor. Tight draw, but an even burn. I'm not averse to full-flavor, strong cigars, but this was not enjoyable. Not an enjoyable smoke at all.

"Fair for the price"
Good construction plenty of smoke. Good for those times you don;t have time for a churchill. Cigar kind of fissels at the end but for the first 30 minutes is does relief the cigar craving. For the price its a good daily smoke. Should only get better after time in the humi.

"About Average"
I've had the maduro version of this cigar, so I decided to try the natural. Not bad, not the best. Good draw, a little bland through the first half of it, got more exciting toward the end. I'd buy again, but not going to be on the regular rotation

"Sunday"
On a Sunday morning after cutting down the weeds in the field off the Chicken hill I lit this one up just before noon with an IPA and watched my wife fill some pots with lots of flowers. Praise the almighty, summer is just ‘round the corner. The LG burned nice, it produced lots of filling smoke. The flavor was one dimensional until the very end. More on that in a moment. The taste was calming—somewhere here on this planet where there is no strife, just smooth cool earth, mild cedar and tobacco. Add the beer before noon, the young flowers and the beautiful wife and what else is there? The promise of summer, cool breeze coming off the lake and another cigar on the hill, that’s what. Hm. Oh yeah, the LG picked up some wild mint chocolate tones with about an inch and a half left. I nubbed it dangerously close to the tip of the nose. Curious if anyone else has danced the second degree burn in pursuit of this flavor in the Wavell?

"Not bad, but I'll stick with Maduros"
Wanted the M version, but got EMS as a present, gave it a try, and all in all, creamy, tons of thick smoke, pretty woodsy, and relatively medium. Burn was ok, and draw was a tad light. Only downside is bitter/metallic aftertaste.

"Agree with Weezy"
I received this cigar in a five pack from a CBID auction, as such the price was excellent. I agree with the review from Weezy, this size just doesn't seem to give me the same enjoyment as the longer sticks. The flavor was not bad, it was just kind of average. The construction and draw were good, but that's about all I can say about this smoke. I have four more, so I'll let them age and try again around Xmas.

"a great cigar"
This I received in a sampler from thompson one of the cigars wrapper was damaged, so I order some more samples from famous-smoke. they were great, I have never had a mild cigar, with this many flavors, it was mild and smooth. with hints of wood and sweetness. awesome cigar, I recommend as a daily smoke if you can ever find them on a good deal. great ash, draw, and even burn. However the wrapper was a nice color but nothing stood out. not at all shiny, or oily. just a plain dull natural. but the mild complex flavor was awesome.

"A Let Down"
I was hoping for a great cigar, but I was let down. This is not to say that this is a bad bad cigar- by no means. The smoke has a very nice cedar smell and taste is just ok. This cigar was not worth the $4.60 I paid for it. For that price, buy a Flor Fina 858 or better yet, a Padron. This is cigar is simply marginal. Draw was good was very good, burn was uneven.

"surprisingly bad"
Had a Wavell single a couple of months ago and it was one of the best cigars I've ever had. Bought a box and was very disappointed. Even after 2 months of aging, these cigars are very green. They burn hot and taste little better than cigarettes. Apparently, it is common knowledge that there are QC problems at El Credito and their products require extensive aging after purchase. Won't buy these again. Premium cigars should be ready to smoke when purchased. Aging should only marginally improve them.
