"Not great....mediocre"
Very spicy and the spice overpowered any flavor that tried to creep its way in....had some burn issues and it burned hot mid way...go with the El Rey del Mundo Robusto Larga

"Not as good as I remember"
Nice looking and started off well with a good draw. Tastes of spice, nuts and leather, but turned hot and bitter somewhere in the middle then eventually mellowed out again.

"Good maduro with some burn problems"
Solid smoke in every way except for flaky ash and minor burn irregularities. For a maduro torpedo I'll take a Samba over this.

"Very tasty."
I've smoked lots of La Glorias, but never tried the torpedo maduro. Recently purchased a five-pack of these based on the glowing reviews, and agree with the concensus; this is a great cigar and a great value. The shape and splotchiness of the wrapper look a little too much like something I might find in the yard, but the flavor is rich and just fantastic. Felt like I'd just had a fine meal when I was done. I'm not a big torpedo fan, but the draw is easy and it burns cool enough not to be a tongue-scorcher. Another great stick from La Gloria.

"Good enough to stock"
In Jul 06, I focused on smoking 5 different cigars, all of which were aging in my humidor for at least 6 months. I only smoke about 15 cigars a month, so value isn’t that important to me, but I’ll rate each cigar that way on this site. However, just so you know, value aside, the overall standings for the month were, 1. La Gloria Cubana Torpedo (maduro); 2. God of Fire by Carlito 2005; 3. Don Carlos Belicoso, 4. CAO Brazilia Samba; 5. Montecristo Platinum Mini Belicoso (tubos).

The La Gloria Cubana had the best taste by far, and isn’t that the most important thing? I prefer full flavored cigars with a good cup of coffee. I tried this same cigar when I first bought them and was not too impressed as it was somewhat harsh, but time in the humidor did wonders. So, as craigieboy said, let them rest. A superb value and the first smoke I’ve decided to add to my stock by the box in quite some time.

"mmmm, mmmmmm"
Although I have smoken many LGCs this is the first LGC torpedo I have ever smoked. I usually smoke the wavell. The first half was just like the wavell, the second half smoked like a figurado. I really enjoyed it. Lots of body with a touch sweetness.

this is a fantastic cigar. burns even with flavors that are strong but not overpowering. i also think this is a great value. at this price you could enjoy this baby anytime you feel like it. unlike some of the better known maduros. all around great smoke. be sure to smoke it slowly and enjoy.

"let it rest"
Read the reviews so I went out and bought one; great smoke. Bought a box and fired one up straight away, WHOA, heavy and harsh, plus it tunneled upon smoking. Let them rest a couple of months in the humidor, greatly improved. LET THESE REST

A real beauty. Dark, slight box press. Gorgeous wrapper. Excellent cigar especially for the price. Got a little hot near the end but the maduro flavor throughout was stellar. A real crowd pleaser.

These are great cigars young, but from what I experienced they lose a lot of character when allowed to rest. Easy draw and solid cocoa and spice.

Got 10 of these and gave to give them a try. A very nice smoke with lots of flavor that was very consistant throughout. Nice draw even burn well constructed. Much better than the La Gloria Churchill Maduro. Well worth the price.

"excellente"
I have only smoked one of these, but it was a pleasant experience. One of the best cigars for the price. Smooth all the way, burn and draw excellent. I plan on getting a box and let them set awhile in the humidor. Hopefully they will even get better with age.

"How did I forget this cigar!?"
I traded a buddy for a few of these a year ago the first one was dry(his fault) so I threw them in my humidor and forgot about them.I smoked one yesterday and what a difference a little TLC did for this one. A bit more cocoa than the series R but just as good.A winner!

In my opinion this cigar epitomizes what it's all about. To truly appreciate what these cigars have to offer, I suggest buying a box & putting them away for a few years....yes years!....Those who have done this know where I'm coming from..............

"great cigar"
smoked my first Gloria and I picked the right one to start with. It's a beauty with a dark, oily wrapper and tasty cap with a great aroma, and an easy draw, the flavor was consistent and cool all the way down to the band. The flavor was of rich tobacco with chocolate and a hint of sweetness, I couldn't put this cigar down. I will definitley stock more of these.
Had a problem keeping it lit, but all around a great value at $6

"Woohoo..."
My life ambition to smoke as many different torpedo in the many diff brands...This one was a great one. The first thing was the deep dark wrapper, and the flavor of cocoa as you put it on your mouth. This is definitely a FULL bodied ceegar. It was consistent through out the whole smoke.

"Damn Fine Smoke"
You can't go wrong with this cigar. I don't think it's quite as great as the other reviewers, but very respectable. For the price, though, it's clearly in rare air. My only complaint was that it burned a bit hot toward the end. In every other respect, an all around champ.
