"Great with age"
I stored this under near perfect conditions for about a year and the result was magnificent. Straight burning (and I smoked it outdoors) with a strong gray-white ash, I and all around me enjoyed this (I got many compliments). Floral and slightly spicy with sweet wood flavors. I would like to try the other sizes and maduros. Recommended.

"Solid Value"
Purchased 5/05. Smooth vein free appearance with no soft spots. Pleasant pre-light aroma with no hint of ammonia. Easy draw with even burn after first half inch resulting in a long white ash. Creamy, medium to full bodied texture. Straightforward flavors of tobacco, honey and spice throughout the smoke. Very solid after dinner smoke for the price.

"This is more like it"
This is a very nice smoke, even burning with good flavor. This one will burn for a while. I usually love maduro cigars, but in this case I thoroughly enjoyed this much more than it's maduro counterpart.

"I'm becoming an LGC fan"
I enjoyed this smoke for quite a long time last night--about 2 hrs--even though I was puffing heartily during conversation with friends at the local cigar bar. I was smoking it so long that one of my buddies, who selected a robusto-sized smoke, asked whether I was on my second cigar when I still had about 1/4 of the thing left. The construction and appearance on this cigar was nearly perfect. The wrapper felt like silk, and despite being such a long smoke, it didn't require any touch-ups at all until the very end. It's really a mild smoke, which I wasn't expecting, though it tries to pass on to medium body later on. Nothing was outstanding with the flavor, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Its toasty, woodsy, mild flavor, with a bit of twangy citrus, reminded me a lot of some of the lighter Ghurka's I've smoked and enjoyed, such as the Grand Envoy and Expedition series. I would recommend this cigar if it can be had for the right price, which it can be had at online. Having purchased this stick at a B&M, I overpaid a bit at $8.50. At around $6-7 per, this smoke is a good value.

"A smorgasbord of flavors..."
...unfortunately most all of them were lousy. I had high hopes for this cigar too. I bought two of these ($10 each) in January 2005 shortly after it was selected as a top 25 cigar of the year by CA. I finally fired one up and it was awful. While it started off plesant and showed moments of promise, the flavor kept turning to an ultra-intense clover/alfalfa taste. (If I was a horse I'm sure I would have loved it). That in turn led to a finish that was like I had chewed on an old rubber band. When the flavors were good, notes of grassy cinnamon and citrus were evident, but it would only last for a few minutes before abruptly truning nasty again. I gave up about half way through the cigar. If you ever buy one of these, 1) don't wait two+ years to try it and 2) smoke it very slowly. Better yet, save yorself the trouble and stick with the Serie R. They are awesome both right from the store and after years in your humidor.

"Smoooooth"
This is a nice looking, great smoking, medium bodied cigar. It starts out with a cedary base and very quickly the wrapper kicks in with nice floral, slightly spicy accents. Impeccable construction; it burns slowly with a great volume of smooth and creamy smoke and burns razor straight all the way. The only disappointment was a lack of development -- it started out cool and mellow and pretty much stayed that way to the end. A very fine cigar nevertheless.

"Mild and Very Good"
Not a partagas Salome, although it looks like one; this is a mild and creamy smoke. they worked the hell out of the wrapper and it ended up neutral. Soft and somewhat nutty aroma. Fabulous looking.

"A GOOD VALUE SMOKE!"
I'm not repeating what has already been said. This cigar is a good value smoke in my opinion. You get a good mild to medium body smoke with good nutty, creamy flavor. Could it be stronger? Yes! Could it be more falvorflul and complex? Yes! Yet, the size of this cigar gives you a longer lasting smoke. Good value. Good flavor. Longer lasting. Very good smoke. Every cigar does not need to be an Opus X type powerhouse. This cigar falls into a very good niche that will cater to a more tempered, relaxed, flavorful smoke.

"Mouth-watering"
Absolutely superb. I smoked her with some aged tequilla. Perfect contruction and lots of white smoke. Taste of aged LGC long leaf and a very light finish. Lots of cream and nuts.

"Dog rocket"
What a terrible experience to smoke this one! It had an uneven burn from the start and got worse, the wrapper unravelled, it just really exploded. I bought a box, the first couple were o.k., I hope the rest are not like this one

"OUTSTANDING"
I saw the 92 and nice writeup. I ordered a box and let them settle a week or so. I bought mine from Hoyt's and they had been well taken care of. Lit it up and ordered 2 more boxes. Now that I have mine, I'll tell you they are awesome!!! It is true that they start out on the light side of medium body...but the flavor is superb. Some nice reviews here that don't need a full repeat. They are a steal at $135 a box!

"What a surprise"
I missed out on these last year and was able to get a box of them this year. I was initially disappointed in the flavor it was very mild with a spice hint to it for about the first third of the cigar. Once it hit the midway point this cigar kicks in with a mild leathery note that just gets better all the way tothe finish. Lots of smoke a great ash that this cigar holds onto as if it were gold. It is a great cigar for those who like a milder cigar that develops more body as it finishes. A great cigar from LaGloria.

"My New Favorite"
I have never been big fan of La Gloria's. Just not my cup of tea. When my store carried these this year thought, "what the heck". Very nice oily figurado. Beautiful roll. Easy light with nice pre-light flavor. Lots of smoke. Lucious with cedar and cream. Bought three boxes immediately.

Loved the cigar from the moment I lit it up, it smokes and draws so easy it has complex and mild flavor. I recommend getting these if you can their only around seasonally.

"Wussy"
Expected a bit more body to this cigar which is a somewhat spicy, a bit leathery with a woody aroma. Mild. Ten years ago LGCs seemed to have more character. This cigar was weak sister. Not for the experienced smoker looking for the old LGC.

"Excellent mellow smoke"
No. 6 in Cigar Aficionado's top 25 cigars of 2004. A few months back I chanced upon a store that had some of last year's batch and selling them for less than $8 a stick so I bought a handful. It's a huge perfecto that's well-rolled with a shiny brown wrapper. The burn starts off a bit unevenly, which I find common in perfectos, but eventually straightens out. The draw is excellent and produces plenty of smoke with a nice aroma. Starts off peppery, but once it warms up the spiciness relaxes as some woody, nutty, and light earth flavors appear; becomes creamier later on with a lightly tangy orange peel taste. The flavors are soft and round and as a whole fairly complex. The finish is long and pleasant. It's a smooth and mellow smoke; not very strong, but still flavorful. This year's batch of this line should be out now and if it's anything like last year's, it'll be a fine cigar.

"Davidoff flavor"
This deformed monster was a shocker in the flavor dept. Unlike all the other LGC smokes, this was more a creamy, nutty vanilla taste. Great construction and draw, and even burn. I highly recommend this stogie!

"Hypnotic"
Ya know if I didn't know better I'd swear this cigar had something more than tobacco in it. Beautifully made, excellent construction and burn. I was literally hypnotized by the lush, sweet leather bite, with just a hint of lemon. Took it right to the nub with never a hint of tar or heat. Loved it!

"yeah baby..."
Most to the LGC cigars-from the regular ones from DM to R series are quite a bit more robust in strenth than these. First off, they are beautiful. Very, very well made. great draw, great burn. Tastes of sweet leather, oak and nuts. Only down side was that it was rather one dimentional. Great cigars.

"Beautiful Cigar"
Okay-I got caught up in the all that hype about selective rollers, age time, etc... The price is not cheap, especially after CA's top 25 rating. This is a sexy cigar! Construction is flawless, and I can appreciate the attention to quality when rolling this shape. Selctos De Lujos is a better AF Hemingway Signature from a construction stand point. Fresh out the box it had a tight draw-I had to scissor clip AND punch it. Luckily the draw got loose past the tip burn. Pleasant spice initally, with hints of vanilla and almond. Slow burn that requires you to appreciate it. If you smoke it fast, you'll get a nasty uneven burn. If you follow the natural burn of the cigar, it produces long/firm ashes. The finish is creamy. Meduim Bodied.

"Very smooth medium bodied smoke"
A wonderful smooth medium body smoke with lots of flavor. A very easy and smooth draw with a dead even burn. I would look forward to smoking again and is my favorite from this producer. A great cigar from start to finish and this one will take some time to finish.

"Nice niche cigar"
This cigar won't wow anyone least of all LGC Series R fans. Don't care for the perfecto shape either (I got it by mistake instead of the Pyramid) but otherwise it is a nice, well made cigar that should carve out a niche among some of us. It's a bit dry and it burns unevenly but the flavor is a very satisfying mix of nuts and cream. Medium to full bodied.
