"Smooth as always"
I am somewhat surprised that in the 2+ years since my last review of this cigar that there appears to be little or no interest in this cigar from anyone else. I just received a brand new box for Christmas and if the first 3 I've smoked so far are any indication of what's in store then I'll be a very happy guy indeed. I have to admit though that for a 'Vintage' series, its appearance and construction are just ok. The wrapper is quite veiny and a bit rumpled and the cigar burns slightly unevenly. The flavor though is superb as it's loaded with sweet coffee and butterscotch flavors. Fans of full-bodied cigars need not apply here as this is probably one of the mildest cigars around, but I am sure that many current Macanudo smokers would enjoy upgrading their current Cafe and Gold versions to the Vintage line. At $150/box of 20 ($7.50 each on average) it's a pretty good deal.

"Way over priced"
Excellent Construction but what a dog after that. Teamo light? It says vintage but tasted as if it was rolled last week. Not a good cigar.

"As smooth as it gets"
The '97 Vintage #1 is a very smooth, naturally sweet cigar that should please most smokers especially fans of mild cigars. It's a great change of pace from all the maduros and full-bodied cigars available. However it burns a bit unevenly and I've seen better looking wrapper but at around $150 for a box of 20 on the web I am ready to purchase my next box.
