"Fine, but..."
I love Romeo's. Alwaqs know your getting a great stick when you torch one up. They're really consistent and deliver great flavor every time. I also love maduro's, so when I got a 5 pack of these little pups, I was really looking forward to it, maybe a little too much. To be honest, I was bored with the first one and actually looked forward to putting it out as the work of smoking it wasn't worth what I was getting in return. I took the advice of some of the reviews and parked 'em in the humi for a while and retested. They were a bit better, but now that I've smoked them all (which I like to smoke a few before rating them), I have to say it was an overall disappointment. When i was younger, I kept hearing how great the new Batman movie was, you know the one with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson as the Joker, well i heard so many great things about it that my expectations were just unreasonable. I left the movie disappointed, and I think that same thing may have happened with these. If i'm gonna put out the money that these cost, the CAO Brazilia's are head and shoulders above these. Don't get me wrong here either, they were basically kinda boring and not as flavorful as I prefer. It might be a matter of taste, but they just weren't all that I expected.

"Another maduro"
Let's put it this way - I've had much better maduro's and much better Romeo Y Julieta's. If you find it cheap enought, this cigar makes a decent past time but nothing too fabolous.

"way better than i thought"
i have smoked around a dozen of these guys and must say their great...taste is one of utter smoothness and the first i smoked i was shocked by the silkyness of the plume...excellant but looks not impressive

"A little boring"
Nice looking smoke with good construction. Lit well and burned evenly, with a good quantity of rich smoke. Consistent smoke that never changed, burned hot or got bitter. The only problem was that the flavor was a little bland...definately nothing to jump up and shout about. Not necessarily a "bad" cigar, but just not very interesting. There are much better out there if you are looking for a flavorful maduro.
I tried this one as part of a quest to find a less expensive alternative to my much loved Ashton aged maduros.
The quest goes on...

"Not so Great"
Not what I would expect from a Romeo y Julieta. The first bit of the cigar was harsh. I expected it to mellow out as I continued but didn't change much. It drew relatively well for decent smoke but didn't burn evenly at all. The taste was not particularly great either. It was overly leathery and much to spicy at the end. Not impressed considering the other RyJ Reserve cigars I have smoked.

"Struck OIL!"
I gave this cigar a middling review last year and then put the rest of the sticks in the back of the tower humidor. Now, a long while later, I am finding that this cigar has gained flavor and a nice plume of oils on the surface. The burn is great and the aroma is above average. Very easy on the pallate, but still deep enough to keep me interested. A very nice Maduro from RyJ.

"A solid maduro"
As with most maduro cigars, this one is a bit 1 dimensional, but like all RyJ cigars it's good quality. Toasty and spicy maduro start then 1D but fine maduro flavor throughout with a bit of added nuttiness in the second half. All seemed harsh or tangy at about 2 inches (near the band). I'd personally buy Padron 2000M's instead...cheaper and more complex.

"Almost a Very Good Cigar"
The 1st thing I usually check even before lighting a new cigar is the draw, and I knew from the very beginning that smoking this little devil was going to be work. The few puffs gave me an initial impression that this was going to be a strong full bodied smoke, but after the first inch it seemed to smooth out and produced a medium to full creamy flavor for the balance of the smoke. Had it not been for the draw I would recommend this cigar, but from reading some of the other reviews, I see it was not an isolated case. Unfortunately it ruined an otherwise very tasty smoke.

"good but robustos are better"
You know I like RyJ maduros, cause I raved about the robusto - and this one has the flavor too... It's just that several from my 2 fivers are plugged. The smoke is worth the effort - unless it's too hard to draw. Still the great RyJ maddie flavor!

"I like the raider colored band"
A friend gave me one of these sticks. He knows I prefer larger (much larger cigars), but thought I would like this one anyway. This cigar was so-so, and I still like the bigger sticks better. The flavor was OK, but I never seem to get much from small smokes. The draw was a bit tight, but not so much as to prevent a decent mouthful of smoke. This cigar burned well and stayed even all the way to when I put it out. Overall, I would not turn this one down, but I don't think I'll be buying any of this size RyJ.

"Thick Stick in a small package"
I smoked a smaller version of this cigar (4 x 40ish) and it was a wonderfull 20 minute smoke with lots of maduro flavor. Lots of earth, spice and a touch of sweetness.
Great stick.
Great stick.

"goodie"
This was a real surprise becasue I havce never been a real fan of any RyJ product. It has a great dark tobacco flavor and the smaller the ring gauge in these smokes the better they are, the lonsdale is also a winner. Flavor is great, burn was also, a staple in my humi!

"An ok Maduro"
I like maduro wrappers more than any other, in most cases anyway. I found this cigar to be just a cut above average, but still pretty good. I liked the look and feel of this cigar in my hand. It burned well too. The flavor was medium, but not complex enough to make me want to buy this stogie over a Feunte Chateu or even a far less pricey Fonceca Cedar #3.
Not bad, but there are other alternatives.

"average"
Medium to full cigar, thought was a rough wrapper, spongy and loosely rolled, but did'nt seem to matter, burn was good and had an ok draw. Flavor was sweet with hints of spice. Average.

"Packs a punch"
Looked pretty good, nothing spectacular. Wrapper was very dark & oily, which is always great. Tasted med-full and very sweet, but half way through, turned fuller and kinda hit me hard. Maybe I need more practice... Construction and burn were very good, and finish was fairly long.

"Earthy"
A solid heavy little stick. Prelight the wrapper smells like a litter box-- a little more than barnyard here. Very tough draw, but smokeable, up to a point anyway. Tastes earthy, mushroomy, smells a little like bone meal. But a terrible draw--two thirds through and I had to pitch it. If this were fixed, this might be an interesting smoke, if you like the smell of compost.

"not bad"
Medium body maduro with a rough, oily wrapper. Started out a bit flat but evolved into sandalwood.cocoa with a mild sweetness. About halfway in a antiseptic taste popped up that I, very rarely, get in in maduros sometimes. Purging took this unpleasantness away. Burn was average, draw was very good. Overall, not bad.. but just not special either.

"Tasty little feller"
Tasty sweet little maduro with some spice, to the full side of medium. Good construction with a slightly rough wrapper. Dark maduro with a nice prelight sweetness. Burn was excellent with a bit of a tight draw. Overall a very good small smoke.

"Outstanding Cigar"
R&J Res Maduros are just simply a great smoke across the board. This one is for a short smoke. Starts medium, but slightly sweet with a transition to a pleasant spiceness with a slightly stronger than medium finish. This is a consistent and great cigar time afer time after time.

"Typical Romeo without the Julieta"
Bought a four pack to try em and my brother in law liked his but I sucked my lung out trying to draw on it and after half of it, I tossed it into the campfire. Not a very quality stick and for the money would rather have an Onxy Reserve.

"Very Nice"
I was pretty surprised by this cigar. Nice cocaoa smooth coffee tones with some sweetness at the end. I really liked the smooth draw with lots of smoke. A nice cigar to start the day off with.

"My daily commuting smoke"
Nice dark, oily, maduro wrapper. Unlit this cigar just smells fantastic. Nothing like the smell of a good maduro. When lit the taste is generally sweet with a medium body. I'm on my 2nd box of these and have not had a bad one. Smokes is about 30-40 minutes. Helps make my daily commute from the Jersey Shore up to NYC bearable. (Besides my wife won't let me smoke in the house, so in the winter I have to smoke somewhere)

"OH Romeo"
This stick has a very coarse maduro wrapper. A nice even burn with the foot lit on this petite corona. The draw was smooth and gave you lots of big smoke. The taste were nice with a rich, sweet cedar and some spice to the finish. Some day it could be a classic.

"Favorite Maduro Petit!"
I don't know what zach got a hold of but this is an excellent cigar if you like maduro. The initial smell of the cigars is almost a barn yard smell like many other maduros. It is a characteristic that does not take away from the cigar but actually tells me I am getting a real maduro. The taste is terrific with a slightly sweet flavor and nice medium body. I have asked everybody in the family to buy me 4 pack tins for Christmas..( I figure I might get a couple) The draw is good, the construction very good and appearance good. No complaints and only high recommendations for maduro lovers. The No. 5 is just as good maybe better because there is slightly more to smoke.

"A nice treat"
This cigar is smooth and tasty. I had a few problems with uneven burning, but overall this was a satisfying smoke. I would like to try something a little fatter to see if the flavor is deeper.

"Very enjoyable"
From the construction to the finish this was a very much enjoyed smoke. I started to put it down, but had to finish it until my fingers felt the heat. The flavor was wonderful and the finish was excellent. No harshness throughout the smoke. Bravo!

"Soooo Pleased!"
The new Reserve Maduro line is destined to become a classic. Just smoked a No. 4 and could not have been more pleased. Full aroma and flavor with a mild sweetness. No spice/tang like the R&J Rothschild. The Maduro wrapper made for a much welcome improvement to an already excellent fill blend. The next box I buy will be these!
