Man, did I have hopes that this cigar would be less than enjoyable.  Not to show a pre-disposed bias, but think of the potential review titles.  We could have used "Jerich-NO", or maybe Jericho-BLOW", you get the drift.  Alas, the Jericho Robusto proved to be a decent cigar, which when all is said and done is not a bad thing with all the crappy cigars that cross my desk.

Jericho is from Caribe Imported Cigars.  Caribe is the same group that brings forward Camacho cigars, and all time favorite of Top25Cigar.  Jericho is described somewhat succinctly on their website as: "The Jericho cigar is the same cigar that was made back in 1972 in Nicaragua by Simon Camacho with full flavor and rich taste. The labels and decorations are original with the exception of the bands and the 20 count box." Jericho is an all Nicaraguan puro that is available in 5 sizes, in boxes of 20.

A decent looking cigar, the Jericho is not going to wow anyone with its looks.  The wrapper is respectable looking, and the construction seems sound to the touch.  While not looking to win any beauty contests, you won't need beer goggles to pick up a Jericho Robusto either.

Put a flame to the tip, and you get a nice cigar with good burning characteristics.  Not quite as solid as the Camacho Diploma from Caribe, but again, definitely passes muster.  If you enjoy the feel of a solid, well made cigar that creates a firm, clean shaped ash, look no further.

The Jericho Robusto started off with woody hints, almost edging over to the dry tasting side.  A few of our reviewers mentioned time in the humidor improved their samples, and virtually eliminated the dryness.  This cigar qualified for the term three dimensional with comments like this:

"About 1/3 in I get some rich hay undertones, at the midway point their are hints of leather and the flavor continues to get richer.  Additionally, a "buzz factor" starts to emerge, there is some "sting" to this cigar.  It gets a bit hot towards the end, and that hay makes another appearance."

The Jericho Robusto ended up scoring better than average, and based on the quality of construction and generally pleasant comments on the flavor, may well be worth a try for most avid cigar smokers.  Combine the inexpensive pricing with the above qualities, and the Jericho Robusto should make its way into that coveted position of every day go-to cigar for some smokers.
