The highlight of this tasting was easy, it was definitely the wrapper, or the construction…no it was the wrapper…okay okay, it was the appearance of the wrapper on a finely constructed cigar. How’s that for indecision?
The La Tradicion Cabinet Series Perdomo Reserve “R” has an oily Rosada wrapper that was an overwhelming hit with reviewers. The standard extreme box press of the La Tradicion cigars is evident, and unanimously enjoyed.
The appreciation for the feel and construction of this cigar rubbed off on the packaging as well. If you took on elook at the box, you would expect there to be jewels inside.
Other than a few self-correcting burning issues, the construction of this hearty robusto was a pleasure to behold.
“I could hold this cigar all day. Its feel is as strong as a bulldog, and beckons to be smoked.”
We had some very minor dissenting opinion towards the flavor of this cigar. Most reviewers were strong in their support for the La Tradicion Cabinet Series Perdomo Reserve “R” with comments showing their pleasure.
“…the toasty flavors of cedar and coffee with a bit of pepper reminded me of so many brands of nicely aged Dominican sticks that go well with afternoon strolls.”
“I’m okay with this…it’s a “go to” cigar” A pleasurable flavor that seemed to stay with the entire cigar.”
Our differing opinion came from one reviewer that noticed a slightly hot taste upon initial lighting.
“The cigar was a little bit harsh through the first quarter. Nicely refined dry woody flavor.”
That was it…as bad as it got. You can see that this is one of the better cigars. With a strong box pressed feel, a top notch construction, and a likable woody flavor, the La Tradicion Cabinet Series Perdomo Reserve “R” with the Rosado wrapper turned the heads of our reviewers. Tabacalera Perdomo has been a solid maker of cigars for what seems like forever...it continues here.
