The black band sets this cigar apart from any of the ordinary RyJ's. Even the "Tabacalera" lower band is set against black, making you think you're in for the unexpected if used to the standard RyJ line.

"It's the Millennium damn it, we had to buy the cigars." At least that's the excuse we keep telling ourselves for all these special "Millennium" released cigars we have in our humidor. Then again, should we really complain, the Padron Millennium was good, this cigar was...whoops, guess were starting the review!
The Habana 2000 wrapper mystique still fails to materialize for us. We've tried a couple cigars with the new "monster wrapper" and not one of us has won the lottery, started being approached by beautiful women, or for that matter even commented on how saliva dripping great the wrapper is. Ahh, need to hit ourselves upside the head a few more times, looks like we keep falling for the marketing spin. I'm sure they'll be plenty more chances to try "uber" wrapper.
As the classic Homer (Simpson) would say, "Ohhhhhh, pretty tubed cigars". They are, works of art almost, but they keep shattering when I try and hang them on the wall. Must not be using the right nails. I digress. If cigars were smoked for their looks, we'd all be smoking the famous race horse. (Fine looking thoroughbred by the way.)
The wrapper is good looking, but if you have tasted one Habana 2000 wrapped Montecristo Cigare Des Arts series cigar, you've had this one. No major differences. Flavor was similar, ash was very nice and white, well made, with a somewhat spicy taste. There, whole review one sentence.
Not sure what else to say. We did buy a box of twelve of these for $85 bucks, pretty good for this caliber of cigar, about $7 bucks. There aren't many other respectable Double Coronas selling at that price.
Valentine's Day is coming up, maybe the wife would like a box of these more than that resin-based bowling ball you were looking at? Homer did it once.
Vital Statistics:
Shape = Double Corona
Length = 7" RG = 50
Wrapper = Habana 2000
Filler = Dominican Republic
Binder =Dominican Republic
Estimated Cost = ~ $7.25
