December has been a kind month to our blessed staff of reviewers. As you've probably noticed, no dogs so far! It's more fun being Santa Claus than it is being the Grinch, so here we go again! We butchered the Perdomo Reserve line in September, and were bombarded with emails in support of our review...yeah that's right "in support". Hopefully the folks who feel they got "burned" by the "Perdomo Reserve" line will give the Perdomo2 line a try, as this is a interesting cigar. Perdomo2, Y2K line, of course try's to beg a little hype off of the impending Millennium changeover. Who cares, rename it after January 1st and keep it around. Maybe Perdomo2 Y3K? Flavor was the most astounding characteristic of this cigar. Everyone mentioned it, and everyone enjoyed it. Not to mild, not to strong, and not hanging around to long like your mother-in-law. This was universally enjoyed for the flavor. Looks like the double fermented Cameroon wrapper did its job. The one flaw continually pointed out by our staff was the construction. As with any perfecto, it's tough to create consistency in construction. The Perdomo2 Torfecto became very soft as you smoked it, and some of our samples came apart around the cap. Normally this would be acceptable, but with the price there asking for this puppy, we expect more. Fuente can do it with the Short Story's, Avo with its Domaine, this should be better. Probably from the construction problems, the ash was very weak as well, falling off quickly, and becoming uneven over time. Of our ten samples, it looked like ten different cigars, maybe the molds are off? 'Nuff said about construction, this cigar had a great taste, and with the small size was less filling! (sorry, couldn't resist) We gave this guy a "B". We'd buy some for ourselves, but have a problem with the price. I have since seen them priced a bit better on the web, so if you find them, like most our other reviews for December, give it a try. Vital Statistics: Shape = Perfecto Length = 5 1/2" RG = 54 Wrapper = Cameroon Filler = Nicaraguan Binder = Nicaraguan Estimated Cost = $9.75
