"Interesting and enjoyable"
Not a daily "go to" cigar, but much better than I expected. Construction was top notch: excellent draw, straight burn, tons of smoke, ash was a bit flaky. The sweetened tip overwhelmed the wrapper, but it was distinctly cameroon: nuts, honey and a little bit of pepper. A highly aromatic smoke, left a perfumy finish on my tongue. Worth a shot.

"Unique but very good"
ACID is something I must be in a specific mood for, but when I do light one up, I am never disappointed. Drew really puts a lot of effort into these, and the appearance and construction are always solid. The unique flavor always hits the spot when I'm in that particular mood.

Smoke itself is light and crisp with herbal notes. The aftertaste on the lips is also more pronounced than with other cigars and leaves a definite sweetness...I always feel like a kid licking his lips of sugar after eating candy.

They are certainly pricier than average, for their size and relative length of a smoke you get from them. However, not making a regular habit out of them, I am more than happy to plunk down for that special sweet fix every once in a while when it so strikes me.

"For those that want something different"
I am one of those that like the taste of the Kuba Kuba. I like the fact that it does not taste like a typical cigar. It is one of those I think every cigar smoker should try as you may just be surprised. I laugh at those that try and berate anyone who might like flavored cigars. Isn't it all about smoking what ever you think taste good ?

"Perfect by the fireside"
On a cold blustery night by the fire pit, I got a variety of flavors, though the most distinct was a consistent honey flavor. Met with other hints of subtle earth, exotic spices, and cream. Though it was smoked under extreme wind conditions it did last a good thirty minutes.

"They all should be called Nasty!!!!!"
This is my second acid (both were gifts while drinking with friends)..My buddy gave me this one while we were having some nice single malt ..What a great way to ruin the taste of good Scotch!!!this thing was just sweet and had the aroma of a 60's head shop.I guess that is why they call them Acid ..After 3 of 4 puffs I had to put it out and offered up a nice Padilla Miami which took the nasty taste away and we able to enjoy are drinks again.. Why do people buy these things and who in the hell defined them as cigars???

"Good after dinner stick.."
I only had one of these about a year ago. I remember the constuction was good and the burn was even. As far as the flavor all I can remember is "Sweet". I read a review here about this one that said "If you like rolled up sugar than smoke this one". Thats what triggered me to try one. I would smoke more of these but for the price of this I can get a cheaper stick that is just as sweet.

"for people who hate the taste of cigars..."
I took this gifted stick from the humi after about a month of rest. The Acid band is cheezy and not worth saving. The overall appearance was very good. There were small veins through the dark wrapper, not very toothy, and it had an oily appearance. It was tightly rolled and seemed consistent from head to foot as I gently squeezed it. My first surprise came when I smelled it...it was sort of a urinal deodorizer cake aroma. I used a punch through the cap with no problems. A pre-light draw made me almost recoil from the residual taste left on my lips. I tasted it again applying a bit more moisture, and it was sticky. I tried sampling further toward the foot, and there was the same impression...sticky sweetness that tasted like toothpaste. I found the aftertaste quite unpleasant, and hoped that the flavor would be neutralized by the tobacco. That didn't happen. Through the whole stick, the flavor of the tobaccos never gained advantage over the chemical flavoring which left saccharine, metallic aftertaste. As far as I am concerned, save your butane and just chew this one. If you dislike the taste of cigar tobacco enough to smoke these, then try a different hobby.

"Too Sweet"
This one was too sweet, and I like sweet. The sweetness actually deadened any taste that the cigar would have had. The appearance is great, its a good looking cigar and my wife enjoyed the aroma wich is always a plus. The draw was a bit loose on this Kuba, Im not sure if they are all this way, but it didnt get hot like I expected it to and I smoked it down to the nub. The artificial sweetner tasted did linger throuhout the entire smoke. I would smoke one again, but Im not going to be buying a box anytime soon. I considered the price to be a bit high at 6.50 as I could smoke much better "normal" cigars for that price.

"A dessert"
I agree with smokehole: this cigar is best described as a dessert cigar. Alot of my buddies (who thing of swisher sweets and phillies when they think of cigars) buy Acids for special occasions. The Kuba Kuba isn't by any means a bad cigar, but there isn't that much to it. Its too flavored to savor the natural flavors of the tobacco itself, which in my opinion is what cigar smoking is all about.

Good looks, burn and draw. The taste sensations remind me of the old days when I was but a teenager with Uncle Sam's Misguided Children as we built a rifle range for the Navy puffing on Swisher Sweets, only better. Not a bad smoke if you're not put off by the different tastes and smells.

"Good and Bad"
I do not go out and buy these but I do occasionally get them as a gift from my dear sister-in-law from Tampa. Pre light aroma is what you would expect, different. Not a total turn off but does leave one skeptical of what's to follow. The wrapper was much too sweet and detracted from the experience. The sweetness was more overpowering than the aroma. Construction was generally too loose but didn't affect burn. Flavor was ok except for the sweetness. I was surprised that the tobacco flavor was more prevalent than the herbal flavoring. Fairly mild with no bitterness. I wouldn't buy these for myself but I do enjoy the unique experience.

"Dessert Cigar in the Vast Cigar Universe"
If you take the last three reviews or so you get the idea of what a vast difference there is in the appreciation or lack of it for this cigar. I happen to really like it as a dessert cigar for the right mood as "hound dog" implies. But, I can also imagine the surprise that "Slicer_D" may have had not being familar with the Acid line. I find that the majority of Acid cigars are quite tasty for the first two-thirds, then lose their taste and even become "hot' in the last trimester. This Kuba did not, it was good well beyond the band, and I nubbed it, which is unusal for this brand. The looks were great as was the burn and draw. Yes, it did taste like powdered sugar at the onset, I'm not sure I see the problem "Slicer_D?"(just kidding). You just have to remember that this is a dessert cigar and a darn good one.

"They need a warning on these!"
I picked up one of these on a recomendation by a friend and finally got around to smoking it. Prelite aroma was a decent smelling herbal scent. I cut it and stuck torched it and stuck it into my mouth a puff or two revealed a sweet and herbal smoke not too bad. But then I took it out of my mouth a licked my lips and holy crap it was like I just dipped my lips into a bowl of powdered sugar. I have had sweetened tipped cigars before usually small short honey flavored smokes the girlfriend likes but this was different , it was sweet sugar overload. Every puff was like putting my lips in powdered sugar it was so off putting I couldn't even try to enjoy the smoke. At this point I was desperate I paid over five bucks for this cigar so desperate times call for desperate measures. I did something that might appall some of you I took the cutter and cut off all of the sweetened tip. Now I could at least try to smoke this cigar. What I was left with was a that odd herbal taste that I can't quite describe, my girlfriend said it tasted like patchouli I don't even know what that is. Either way neither of us liked it with or without the sweetend tips (and the girlfriend usually like cigars with sweetend tips). I might of liked the smell for burning incense but as a cigar it was not good.

"The Perfect Breakfast"
This morning I relaxed and enjoyed the perfect breakfast (low in calories may I add). The Kuba Kuba cigar and a cup of coffee loaded with Irish cream and caramel. Yummy! This cigar is paired perfectly to a sweet dessert like drink. Even my dog stayed outside with me through this smoke. She usually leaves me by myself. The cigar burned evenly, the draw was perfect, and it finished smooth and creamy.

"for a change"
I like full bodied JDN Antano's. So this is a real change. Decided i'd bid on a tin and got them cheap. I didn't expect much and was prepared to not like them. I was very surprised all the way around. Great construction, a "unique" flavor, smell and great draw. Dipped in sugar so keep them away from the kids. I actually liked them. the taste was different but good and a nice change of pace. I would buy another box of these not for daily smokes but something light and tasty. These are like mexican cigars in that you will either like them or hate them. I think they are worth the try. If you don't like a sweet taste dont bother. The flavor is very good for what it is. If you dont want to listen to the wife or girlfriend complain these are the ticket. Just remeber to take the umbrella out of your drink.

"Great for beginners"
I was recommended this cigar as one of my firsts by the local cigar store. He said that as far as flavored cigars go, the Kuba Kuba was one of a kind. I've had lots of crappy convenience store cigars before, this makes the idea of flavored cigars more worthwhile. The flavoring was great and the tobbacco was consistent throughout. It was a great stepping stone into the world of quality cigars.

"Thanks But No Thanks"
I have tried only a few flavored cigars and I would have to say that this cigar was the most interesting. The knock on this cigar was that the sweetness of the tip was overpowering. Even after a strong cup of coffee the taste lingered. If the tobacco was quality I counld't tell. The aroma was nice though and the construction was great but these qualities are not enough to make me a regular Kuba-Kuba smoker.

"Nice if you like sweet cigars"
I'm not normally a fan of sweet cigars, but this one was good. The construction allowed an even burn throughout and a nice draw. Its a little to sweet for my tastes initially, but once you get 1/4 of the way in the sweetness dissapates to some degree and the cigar is a smooth smoke from there. I was expecting much from this cigar (it was my first Acid) but was sorely disappointed. The smell really put me off even before I light the cigar. It tasted sweet and I kept wishing for that awful smell to go away. Too bad because I could sense that the tobacco was of high quality. But the infused flavour was just too much for me. "Like lighting up a candy cane"
Picked one of these up last week, having already tried the 1400 cc and the Kahlua a number of times. Having taken a few drags before lighting it, I was already skeptical. Construction was very nice, no burning issues and drag was smooth. Taste, however, was incredibly overpowering. Very, very sweet with little variation throughout the cigar. Burn was fast, similar to that of the Kahlua. Would give it another chance if it didn't cost an arm and a leg.

"pretty nice"
this cigar was recomended to me by my buddy at the cigar store. when i first checked it out, before i lit it i thought i had wasted my money because the flavoring was so sugary and intense. Luckily when i lit it the smoke tasted much more official then the flavored tip (which faded). It was a well conctructed cigar, it diddn't get too hot until the end and it had a great draw. Only problem is the overflavored tip and the smoke got a little woodchippy at times. Nonetheless i enjoyed my smoke very much.

This cigar is a staple in my humidor. They are great cigar to grab on the run, no matter where you are going. The aroma is great and I agree with a lot of the previous ratings, that the aroma is great from a non-traditional stand-point. It gives off a smell of cologne and has a really sweet tip. The cigar itself is flawlessly rolled, burns even and strong and I have never had to draw hard or relight one of these and I probably just smoked my 50th the other day. "Newb: Dont complain about sweet!"
Newb Review: Warm day today, decided to do some studying in the shade and take a cigar break, and the Kuba Kuba was the perfect cigar for the task. I look at these reviews, and I am surprised to see people complaining about this cigar being "sweet". Come on, this is Drew Estate's Acid line! What did you expect- Opus X? I agree with the poster before me. The construction of the cigar is great. I just love the feel of the 54 ring. The smoke was perfect, the best cream colored smoke around. Besides the smoke, the cigar was a nice mellow cigar for me. So for flavor, I give this a 9 in the category of flavored cigars.

"A Good Smoke Any Way You Look at It"
I hate to review the same cigar twice, but I think this stick just doesn't get the respect it deserves. I went to my local smoke shop thinking I would get a Fuente or a C.A.O, but the selection wasn't that good. I chose to go to my pinch hitter: the Kuba Kuba. I lit it up and thats when I got to thinking: even when looked at in a traditional cigar sense this one holds its own. The appearance is great, the construction flawless, and the tobacco(looking past the aromatic) flavor is excellent. The only real issue is cost(it cost me 5.00) and the way I look at it, this kind of cigar is a once in a while thing anyway.

I hate to shut my mind out to any cigar; I love traditional cigars as well as flavored cigars.
I recently tried a Kuba Kuba by Drew estates because I was told that it was the best tasting and number one selling cigar from the Acid line.
I was very disappointed the moment I put it into my mouth, it tasted like someone got a flower then sprayed perfume all over it , then dipped it into sugar, did not like this one at all, And I love Drew Estates, they make some of best cigars out there!
Maybe I’ll try the Acid one and see how I like that. Stephen

"Decent"
Ignoring the infused flavors for a moment, this cigar has a decent if not truly interesting set of cigar flavors. It takes about halfway through before the excessive sweetness at light goes away, and the dominant creamy, toasty mildness is there with just a touch of grit. The sweetness was a little overpowering though, but fortunately not in a nasty CAO kind of way. One of the best of the Acid line, the Blondie is also very similar and about half the price!

"Lets embrace change"
The more reviews of acid cigars I read, the more I see a divide. Some people absolutely love these sticks while others find them entirely distasteful. Personally I would just like to say, do not rate these little treats as normal cigars. I am of the opinion that some people do not give them a chance simply because they are not your average traditional smoke. Face it, we are not wearing the same clothes we wore in the 1800's and its about time that people give the same open mindedness that gave us t-shirts to cigars. Now that my venting is over, I would like to say this is a pretty good cigar(even from a traditional stand point)

"A matter of Taste"
It's worn out, but the saying is right, You either love Acid cigars or you don't. I'm a purist and have struggled with my hidden love for Acid cigars, but I've come out of the humidor. I think an occasional Acid is good for the palate. The Kuba is not as good as the Cold Tea, but better than the Def Sea (I'm a poet and hardly know it). Seriously folks, if you like Acid Cigars, you'll like the Kuba. The construction and appearance were fine, but I'm all about the taste. If you've never had an Acid just by one first, not a box, unless it's the sampler.

The wife and I went snowshoeing and I got all cocky and thought I could walk across the ice on a stream. I fell through and soaked my feet. When we got home I decided to smoke the Kuba Kuba for a little comfort. Uh, I don't know. Weird cigar. I know it's not supposed to be like any other kind of cigar, but I had to smoke more than half of it before I could taste anything other than the sweet tip. Weird. This one was a bit of a train wreck all the way around. Odd burn, rough construction, flavorless in the traditional sense of the word. I got down to the bands and carefully tried to peel them off. They took big chunks of the wrapper with them. Strangely enough, that's when the cigar started tasting like a cigar, but by then I was frozen through and ready for a shower.

A controversial line to say the least. Strong pleasant clove scent out of the cellophane. Very Nice construction. Flaky ash. Sweet wrapper but I didn't find it as cloying as some have claimed. Starts off with a nice clove/flowery flavor but then settles down to an average cigar taste. Decent but not worth the almost $8.00 I paid. This is a change of pace and if your one of those who totally hate these types of cigars then "oh well". This is a sweet, mild cigar I like to have after a heavy full-bodied cigar to "mellow out". Sweet & foral the entire smoke, burns great and looks good. You can't rate this as a regular cigar, Acids & flavors are different animals. This is one of the best out there bar none when it comes to infused/flavor cigars.

I guess I was expecting a regular cigar. I simply do not like the so called aromatic cigars. This would explain why there are so many brands.Draw was excellent. Burn was perfect. Aroma was also nice . But I just did not like the taste. It took me two days to get rid of the taste. Construction was flawless!!!

"Pretty good for what it is"
I am basing this review as a comparison to other aromatic cigars, and not against regular cigars. This is the best of the Acid line that I have smoked, and it was reasonably enjoyable. I normally don't smoke these kinds of sticks, but this was a nice break from the norm. The cap was way too sweet and tasted like it was dipped in sugar, but once that wore off, the "aromatic infusion" was balanced nicely, being not too strong that it completely overpowered the palate. Good construction and nice appearance. If you're looking for an Acid, I suggest this one over the others.

"good good ?"
Once again, if you like the Acid brand, you'll like this big boy. I use the acid brand as a change of pace, especially after smoking some of the dogs out there. The Kuba Kuba was average for an acid, refreshing but with some spice. Definitely not as good as the Cold Tea for my money. For some reason Acids all are a bit like smoking Vicks Vapor Rub (and I like them). If you like Acid try a Kuba Kuba, if you don't, stay away!

"Love the 2 Tastes"
I am becoming a fan of the Acid line. This cigar though sealed it for me. I enjoyed the sweet start to the cigar. It reminded me of my Grandpa's Pipe from being a kid. The cigar then took a twist and went to having a spicing type flavor. That flavor lasted for a while after. It was very enjoyable and relaxing. Can't wait to smoke the 2 Kuba Kuba I have left.

"Drug Store Perfume"
I know some smokers like these, but I'm not one of them. The sweetness of the tip was cloying, and the aromatics almost overwhealming. It's like licking gogo dancer panties soaked in head shop lamp oil. If there's any decent tobacco in here, you'd never know it, because the flavoring is so aggressive you can't tell. Then again, decent tobacco doesn't need help, it stands on its own. On a positive note, it was an attractively made cigar, in terms of appearance and construction, on the order of an ERDM, but that's where it ends. I rated the other factors a 2, and would have gone lower, but I need to leave room for White Owls and Dutch Masters, just in case. It's definitely not a cigar for me.

"Deluxe"
This is reference to a new stick the Kuba Kuba deluxe that comes in a tubo. Its a larger (longer) stick that is more of a toro than robusto. I found this stick to be very well constructed and gorgeous to look at. The "botanicals" or whatever seemed stonger than I remember (last kuba kuba I smoked was probably a year ago) but it mellows out as does the sweet tip. Everytime I smoke something from the Acid line I feel like I'm back in high school- now I 'M one of the weirdo/alternative types sneaking a clove cigarette bought in an exotic head shop or something. Anyway, I liked it. The proper proportion for me is one Acid cigar for every 15 normal cigars. Final review: all in all a better Acid from Drew estate.

"Guilty pleasure for traditionalists?"
This is a well constructed cigar with a strong floral pre-light aroma and an attractive appearance. While the smoke is also quite aromatic (pleasantly so to non-smokers) the taste is mostly of mild tobacco. Some of the floral nature comes through, mostly in the aftertaste where it lingers a bit strongly.

Overall, a very enjoyable change of pace from traditional cigars. I am sure it is frowned upon by cigar purists, some of whom probably smoke them in secret!

This happens to be my personal favorite of all the drew estates. With decent construction (not something you can say about most drew estates), easy draw (something you can say), and heavy aromatic flavorings (also characteristic), this cigar is easily the best flavored cigar on the market. If you're not into all that, stay away. However, if you're looking for something easy on the mind, and light on the palette this experiment wont lead you wrong

"Good Smoke"
After 20 years of traditional cigar smoking I decided to give this controversial stick a shot. I have never found a flavored cigar that I smoked more than once, but decided to give this a try for a change of pace. I really liked it and will purchase more. The flavor was quite tasty, it had a nice white ash that held togehter for over an inch and burned evenly. It woudl be better with a different wrapper, didn't like the dark shade. If you absolutely hate flavor don't try it, but if you are open for something different, then this is the one to try. The Liquid was good also, but the Kuba is the better of the two that I've tried so far in terms of traditional smokes.

"Things That Make You Go...Hmmmm"
Found this to be a very attractive cigar, nice construction, good feel, nice ash, excellent draw, but this is where the quality ends. Found the aroma to be of a cross between Vics Vapor Rub and Patchouli Oils.. Initially difficult to adjust to the taste and become more difficult to continue. Tolerated only two thirds of this thing before I had to put it down, as I had to move downwind from my party and the isolation was too much. If I ever get the desire to smoke a sweet cigar again, I'll buy a package of Swisher Sweets and save myself nine dollars. Thanks but absolutely, NO THANKS!!!

What a nice change of pace from the traditional stick. I was at a wedding being held at the Adler Planeterium (with an incredible view of the Chicago skyline) sipping single malt on the water...so maybe the setting had something to do with it...but I really dug this flavor. I like the smacky sweet wrapper on the Hemingway line...and this took it to another level. Great quality, nice burn, complex flavor...try one for a change of pace.

"interesting"
I was skeptical to say the least. I'm not one for flavored cigars. I used to be, but once I had smoked some fine tobacco I left those sticks far behind. Pre light taste and aroma was a shock to the senses. A hint of tobacco with very strong sweet floral overtones. Once lit, the first few draws made me almost put it down. Too sweet and no tobacco flavor at all. I'm glad I stayed with this one though. Once it settled down I began to taste the fine tobacco and the sweetness settled down considerably. The sweet floral taste was still there, but coming through was a nice woody flavor with a hint of almond on the finish. The aroma was something even my wife enjoyed. I didn't get those mean looks I usually do when firing up a gar in the bedroom. I don't think I could smoke this one everyday but it is worth a try if you are looking for something out of the ordinary. I agree with the other reviewers about putting this one in the humi. Do it at your own risk because the aroma is very powerful and will probably make all your cigars taste like they were infused. Overall a good experience that I will try again. My only complaint is that IMO they are a little pricey.

A little expensive for a cigar of its size and flavor but very very nice IMO. Of the three or four that I've had the draw has always been perfect, has a beautiful aroma that even the pesky anti-cigar people don't usually mind. The longer you hold the smoke in your mouth, the more complex the flavors turn starting out mellow and sweet, and finally building to a kind of cinnamon spice. I found this to be an excellent cigar, and despite the price of the ACID line, I will be buying more.

You may love flavored cigars, or you may hate them -- but you can't deny that this is a nicely put together stick. Its a nice big cigar that's looks good. It has a good draw and a relatively even burn if you don't smoke it too fast. I thought the flavor was a nice change of pace though about halfway through, it can tend to be a bit much (as is the case with most flavored cigars). If you're looking for something different, this is a excellent reliable choice.

A very meaty cigar that is well constructed and attractive. Unlit it smells and tastes sweet and a bit spicy. Upon lighting, I discover a very pleasing, first tier smoke that isn't much affected by the infused oils. The oils do however, leave an inviting sweetness on the lips and tip of the tongue. The aroma created by this cigar is a real crowd pleaser, in strak contrast to your usual cigar.

Picked a couple of these up at an event in Chicago. They have an aromatic almost perfumed smell to them. Upon lighting one up the flavor was OK but had an awfull after taste to them. The flavor then went from OK to awfull, smoked about a quarter of it untill I tossed it in the trash. Then the after taste took over, I could not rid myself of the stench. The odor/taste even withstood a barrage of hot salsa, chips, and beer. Woke up the next morning with the same taste in my mouth. Blech, gag, aurgh............

"Different"
From all of the other reviews on the ACID line, people either seem to love or hate the brand. I enjoyed the Kuba Kuba as a nice change of pace. It is definitely not for the cigar purist, but the quality of the product is fantastic, and it is an enjoyable once-a-month smoke. Not for every day smoking, and not a great choice for storage with other cigars.

"simply nauseating"
The aroma has a bizarre air freshener-esque quality that is extremely off putting. It continues onto the palate where it is joined by other distinctive, yet distastful notes that I can only describe as being similar to chemical fragrances. After finishing one, the taste lingers for an uncomfortable period of time afterward. Don't purchase more than one.

"Kuba Kuba"
Quality cigar at first look, smell is a little to strong before lit. Once burning, had a nice mild to medium draw, complimented by the flavor of the leaf. This smoke is not for everyone, but I would recommend you try it if your looking for something a little different.

"Yuck!"
I went out and bought a box of these and it was the worst mistake I could have made. The taste is very "unique". It leaves a nice aroma around the house, but it is nasty in the mouth and takes quite a while to get rid of. To each his own, but I believe this is worst smoke I have ever had. If you want a flavored smoke, go for Havana Honey's, it's cheaper and is not so nasty.

"Good flavor"
Contrary to the opinion of all the old salts here, I enjoy this cigar. The perfumes don't come through in the flavor of the cigar, which is pretty tasty. Unfortunately, you can't put this in the humidor because otherwise all your cigars will smell like the ladies counter at Nordstrom. This is a good cigar to try if you're recommending to a non-smoker or just curious.

"No Thanks"
Great smell, musky and inviting (like a head shop). The herbs and botanicals don't come thru in the smoke, but the aroma from the unsmoked part definitely enhances the experience. All that perfume leaves kind of a scummy aftertaste though. Interesting but not my bag. Can't put em in the main humidor either.

I fell in love with this hardy stogie. I smoked the first one down to the stub. I know that sounds silly, but I did. Since then, I'm having a hard time somking anything else. Except maybe a Blondie from time to time. 🙂

"Acid Kuba Kuba"
Probably the first quality flavored cigar I've ever smoked. Sweet and floral with tons of spices (but NOT spicy) but definately lacking in the tobacco flavor and body departments. Nice to throw one into the rotation every once in a while to liven things up.

Hey, if you like the aromatic cigars like I do, but a fuller bodied one, the Kuba Kuba is for you. Not too light, not too strong. Good 1 hr. range smoke. Consistent the entire way.

this is the most unusual cigar I have ever smoked. I am a typical Feunte, Ashton, Ramon Ramon smoker. I do not look kindly to pansies who smoke vanilla flavored or rum flavored petty cigars. So when I was offered the Acid I was to say the least reluctan

I just gotta' compare it to the Lars Tetens flavor. It has less of that special taste yet it has more of an orange peel flavor.
