"Better than Opus?"
Perhaps because it was milder...but who knows, I liked the Anejo better than the Opus X. It is a beautiful cigar, and cheaper as well. Tough to put down, but also difficult as an everyday smoke due to the price.

"Fantastic cigar"
Received a couple of these from trading a few weeks back and finally had a couple of free hours today to enjoy one. Not the prettiest looking smoke Fuente makes. Wrapper was a little veiny and had some bumps on it. Had an odd toothy/waxy texture to it as well. Gave it a snip, lit up and got to work. Flavors in the first 1/3 were cedar with touches of pepper and spice. 2/3 brought in some creaminess on the finish. Last third would have the occasional taste of dark chocolate and coffee. This may sound like a complex smoke but a short finish keeps it from being that. Still great none the less. Draw started out rather tight but loosened up nicely after about an inch and a half. Burn was near perfect but needed one correction to prevent tunneling. This is a long smoke, took me a little over an hour and a half from light up to less than an inch left. Overall, this is an awesome cigar, though the price tag may turn some people away. I've seen these go for as much as 25+ dollars a stick. However I feel this is one instance where you just bite the bullet and go for it, that is if you can find them.

"Elegant"
Smooth and sweet with lots of cedar and an irresistible aroma. The draw is firm, but effective, and it burns perfectly all the way. Very little aftertaste up until the last third, then the char starts to build. It's not as complex as I hoped -- the flavors remain pretty much the same throughout the duration of the cigar -- but the basic character of the cigar carries it the distance. Gentler than the Opus, but equally elegant. Just don't look at the price tag.

"As Good as it gets"
A very good long lasting smoke. it is one of the best in the line of the anejo line I still think the shark is the best but very hard to find. Every time I smoke one of these i'm thank-ful that I have a reserve in my box.

"nothing short of great"
this long cigar smoked excellently all the way through. One of the few cigars that starts out tasting wonderfully and never lets down. first half the cedary hints were prominent, but the last half gained a little in strength and I was hit with full flavor from a consistent and complex smoke. Burn was impeccable and enjoyable.

"Good Smoke"
This was just a good smoke for me I had the Anjeo shark previous to this much stronger smoke. this had a smooth flavor similar to the opus not as strong I would smoke the opus over this ant time

"Lots of hype... taste like barrelaged Aurora"
I had a barrel aged La Aurora at a tasting, and this tasted just like it... Nice, thick draw, deep flavor, yet relatively one-dimensional. At least the La Aurora had nicer appearance, yet same burn that went off course once in awhile. The main thing about this cigar is it is a "thick draw", not a lot of smoke, yet bold damp taste, without a dynamic flavor. No change throughout. Over-hyped Fuente once again!!! Stick to Hemingways, entry level Rothchilds for the $, and when you want to spring for $ 0pus X from Fuente... dont believe the hype on these Anejo.

"Interesting smoke"
Great construction, with burn and tight ash. It's not a very impressive looking cigar. Wrapper is somewhat rough looking. Taste was strong, definitely some exotic spices reminding me of the holidays, like nutmeg, rum etc.. However, these taste notes were generally short. Most of it was one dimensional straightfwd leathery tastes unfortunately. Mine was 1 year aged. For the price point, there are others I prefer. However, it's worth trying out.

"great maduro"
light spice complex with many differing flavors throughout. Almost earthy grassy toward the end but very enjoyable. Similar to Ashton ESG

"quite good, but they still don't wow me"
On two years rest. A roughly average looking CTBL wrapper, but it was rock solid head to toe. After a half inch, some tar began collecting at the head of the smoke, requiring me to clip a little more off. Odd, but it performed flawlessly thereafter. I didn't find this Anejo to be quite as dry on the palate as others I've had. Perhaps the age helped. A tingle of pepper and licorice throughout. I'm with icehog -- there was a slightly sweet, fruity tang on the front that's hard to pin down. The flavor verged on charriness at various points, but never crossed over the line. It's a meticulously crafted smoke, so it's hard to say I didn't get my money's worth, but these just don't blow me away at the price point. I'll continue to pick up a couple around this time each year, but they'll never be a go-to for me.

"Whoa Nellie"
I've smoke boxes of Cubans, and about
everything out there. This Cigar is the
BEST I've EVER had. Dark, nice light oily feel,
beautifully rolled, unbelieveable aroma,
taste. It's burn was perfect. Paid 13 bucks
at the package store. I can't afford a box,
but I'm heading back for a half dozen.....
I couldn't wait to get the humidity up,
only one day in my box...FANTASTIC smoke!!

"Enjoyable smoke"
I found this cigar in the Harrah's Tahoe casino cigar store. Naturally it was way over priced, but I wanted to try one of these anyway. The construction was good and the cigar had a great draw. The flavor was spicy, but could have been better if the store checked the humidor more carefully (cigar was a little dry). There was a nice finish to this smoke and overall it was very enjoyable.

"most overhyped cigar!"
this was one of the most boring , overhyped cigars I've ever had.it was like a carbonated drink that has gone flat. I'm glad someone gave it to me or i would have seriously regretted wasting money on it.i had an AF Flor Fina 8-5-8 Maduro a month ago that was a lot better than this! Opus X's are much better.

"Another Great Anejo"
Simply some of the best NC smokes available, with a prefect draw, burn and full bodied flavor. A little age gives them a complexity not found in many NCs. This size leaves you with a flavor filled 90 minute smoke, rich with hints of sweetness (Black Cherry, maybe), and waves of spice. A wonderful cigar.

"Merry Xmas"
If I could only smoke 10 cigars a year, this would be one of them. A beautiful oily wrapper with an amazing sweet blend of superb tobaccos. Flawless construction. Lovely firm draw with a perfect and even burn. I didn't have to correct the burn even once after I lit it. The flavors gush out with every puff. Loads of sugar and candy followed by sweet tobacco flavors. Hints of cognac with a lovely hard candy like finish. Some light wood flavors also come and go at the half. The aroma of this cigar make the room smell fantastic. Even the non smokers complemented the fragrant smoke. The last third has more oily candy flavor that has a sweet chewy quality to it. At $9.80 this is just a fantastic cigar. I like them better with only 1-2 months of age. Long periods in the humidor take away alot of this cigar's extraordinary flavor. I love Christmas time when all of these great sticks are around.

"This Is What They Smoke In Heaven!"
Ah yes . . . a wonderful cigar! Rich, smooth, slightly sweet, plenty of body but not overly strong. I coud go on and on. Tops in my book. Right up there with Opus X, PG 15th Ann., and the best Habanas.

This is a great cigar. Complex, almost sweet, good down to the nub. Burn did require a couple of corrections however.

"Very nice"
Great construction and taste, one of the better NC cigars of this size that I have had. Probably loses a few points in the value category but everything else is top drawer.

"Awe Inspiring"
I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon for over-hyped cigars, but this one is worthy of the hype. Best looking wrapper I've ever seen. Explosion of complex flavors, settling down to a nice, strong, full-flavored smoke. Very much worth the price of admission.

"Not worth the money"
I didn't want to review until I had smoked at least six of them. Okay so now, to mild for me, some fruit, and possibly cocoa. The cigar looked and was constructed great, good draw, uneven burn, nice white ash. But Flavor, the reason I think we all smoke, I"m still waiting.

A sweet melody of flavors, I prefer to the bold opus line. This one lasted 100 miles during a recent road trip.

"Fruit Cake"
Beautiful stick. Oily dark mahogany wrapper. Legendary AF construction. Smoke was bready and sweet with notes of currants, praline and sweet spice. If I want to smoke a fruit cake, I'll get one from Maple Grove and have enough for 20 sticks at these prices. Any comparison to the Opus line is completely unfounded.

"Hey Ho Anejo"
If you are looking for a milder, sweeter, tamer Opus X, this one is for you. Not quite the powerhouse that the Opus X is famos for but still a sweet spice extravaganza.

Slightly above average but not worthy of some of the hype. Nice construction, good burn, good taste, better than the "regular" Fuente bot nothing special.
