"why bother?"
reading the reviews reminded me that I might have some of these left from a couple of years ago. I did. I lit up one which I stuck w/ for five minutes; another for three. I bought these when they came in boxes of 40. For the less $ one could have bundle long-fillers such as Palma Real. Why do they bother to put this in a box? Bits of tobacco in one's mouth as one struggles to pull enough smoke out of...

"A great casual smoke"
I travel to DR and have really gotten to like Arturo Fuente cigars. I discovered that the curly heads are great cigars for my afternoon work breaks. They go great with a small glass of whiskey on the side after dinner in the summer time.

"nice surprise"
This cigar impressed the hell out of me. For $1.99, I got possibly the most unadorned, rugged looking cigar I’ve ever smoked. This was roughly a Churchill size smoke with a nutty flavor, smooth texture and sweetness to the aroma. There was nothing harsh about it and it may have just become my favorite medium, mild cigar. I was expecting cardboard. I got something more. With a spongy but resilient construction I have no complaints. It smoked down to the last inch without inconsistency.

"For the Money, It's a Honey"
After a friend gave me one of these, I tried this slender smoke, and will thank him again the next time I see him. "A cheap Fuente?" was my first question, but yes, indeed, it was - both. I was pleasantly surprised with the draw and burn, but he flavor was the real kicker. Mixture of nutty, woody, spicy .... and that somewhat distinctive "Fuente flavor" I have grown to appreciate. My neighbor even complimented the aroma, and he's a rabid anti-smoker.
My biggest, and really only, complaint was the small ring size. In spite of that, I'll be very receptive to enjoying more of these. And I wouldn't be at all adverse to adding more of these to my humidor.

"I got my money's worth"
Unwrapped it and took a sniff. The smell was...green? Cut off a normal cap amount and got down to the taste. Very mild and disappointing. After about a third I got a slight amount of sweetness that staid till the end. A slight amount of pepper came and went. Overall not bad. I'll pick up a couple more to be sure. I'll keep it in mind for a cheap daily cigar.

"So- So"
Not bad for the money it costs. i understand they put the scraps from many different brand in the Fuente line in these cigars. Would explain why some from the box I have ae very good while others just plain suck. This one was ok. Familiar Fuente flavor profile. Floral and spicey a bit. bit of an uneven burn. Overall a good cigar for cutting the grass ,..

"Agree with most"
This was one of my first box purchases many years ago as I was beginning my journey into cigar "afficianadodum" Looking back it was a good beginners cigar--Respected name, cheap, mild, cheap and did I mention cheap. Nothing overly excitting about this stick. Not pretty to look at, but holds together nicely while smoked. Decent burn, good draw, and ok flavor that can push right up next to being bitter at times without quite getting there. A good cigar to try and it will fill your humidor at a reasonable price, but dont expect it to be that special treat for a special occasion.

"Good but not great"
I had no expectations for this little cheapy. It was ugly, veiny and looked like something that was either put together by a 6 year old or extruded from a nozzle. But the taste was actually pretty darn good, especially for a short filler cigar. It had a sweetness to the cap that almost seemed added, although I haven't seen anything about this being sweetened. I smoked it with a medium bodied german wheat beer that nicely complemented the mildness of the cigar. Sadly, when the beer was done the cigar didn't fare well on its own and finished off with some bitterness. The ash constantly flaked off and got on my shirt. Overall the cigar had very little complexity but was perfect for a light smoke with a beer and a buddy. I wouldn't definitely get another and tryout more of A.Fuente's line

"If it is the Deluxe, it is the deal"
I have tried the Curly Head without the band versus the Deluxe which comes with a band that says Arturo Fuente Special. This one is outstanding except for the construction. You can really taste the premium tobacco from the high end Hemingway, Don Carlos, and Opus lines in there. Unfortunately, it is made from the medium filler clippings of those cigars. Whereas, the non deluxe is made of short filler so even more messy.

"A decent cigar for its price"
A friend of mine swears that the Curly Heads are great but I don't agree. The construction is pitiful and so are the taste and draw. Still, they are only 2$ a piece and you get what you pay for. The curly heads are filled with the waste tabacco of the best Arturo Fuente cigars. That expalins the poor construction but not the taste.

"When complexity is a bad thing"
I tried a few of these recently and just never got into them. They look very nice and are pretty well constructed. Nothing wrong with the burn. They just taste funny. There's a mellow dryness at times that turns sour, then a richness that turns bitter, then some spice that doesn't mesh... It's all just a mess really. Not recommended.

"Solstice Stick"
Had the buddy over for the Solstice celebration. Lit a fire in the outdoor fire pit, opened some beers and picked this Curly Head because it was cheap and I didn’t have high expectations for it. In other words, it was cold as hell outside and I didn’t know how long we would be able to stave off the hypothermia. Well we stuck it out and I only lost the tiniest bit of flesh on my pinky toe. This isn’t a bad cigar. Yeah, sure, the construction is not so spectacular, but it tastes just fine, creamy and mild spice mingling with sweet sweet tobacco. It’s a bit of a soft stick. I can’t fairly say how it burned. I sat it down in a little snow ash tray like a nitwit when I went in for another beer, thus the burn was effected by wetness. Duh. We marked the shortest day of the year at any rate. Fine time, fine beer and fine Curly Head. Too bad about my poor little curly toe.

"Inexpensive, mild, long"
This under-$3 smoke performed well, with an easy light and even burn. It had a decent appearance, with a creamy yellowish wrapper, but with many veins. It is mild, with a tangy palate. Its light smoke draws easily, and has a short finish. This is definitely the lower end of the Fuente spectrum, but a genuine Fuente nontheless.

"Nothing compared to the deluxe"
This wasn't a good smoke. Taste was off and you could tell they were using the clippings from Fuente's lower line of cigars. The Curly Head Deluxe is a different story. Great smoke with a strong hint of mocha in the beginning, evening out to a rich creamy smoke. You can tell the Deluxe is made from the clippings of the Hemmingway, 8-5-8, and the Opus. If your a true Fuente fan you will appreciate this cigar.

"Outstanding Cigar except for construction"
This is a great smoke and certainly rivals many 5-6 dollar cigars. Great draw and smoke. Excellent mild flavor. My only complaint is the construction. It frequently leaves pieces in your mouth. This is to be expected as it is called Curly Head for a reason: made up of mostly leftovers from the Grand Reserve. Still a great deal.

"Darn good for $2.00"
I like mild cigars and I picked this up because it was A. Fuente and was inexpensive. I lit it up in the cigar shop and the draw was tight and the wrapper came loose at the tip a little, so the shopkeeper gave me another. It drew better but still a little tight, but otheriwse what an enjoyable smoke! The Cameroon wrapper really did it for me, giving a slightly sweet tase. The smoke was mild but a little spicy. Burn well and pretty even. I will buy again, possibly a box.

A solid smoking, somewhat tasty mild $2 smoke. Flavor was of slightly sweet tobacco. Finish was a bit nasty and hot. This mushy, ugly, stick (despite good storing conditions) smoked suprisingly well, It had an even burn and a solid draw producing gobs of smoke. Overall, I'd do it again for $2.

"Not bad at all people!"
I found this cigar to be a decent mild, creamy smoke. Worth every penny of the $1.70 that I spent on it! Great for having around to give out to your less cigar-savvy friends, if for nothing else! Still not as good as a super-premuim but come on, what are you expecting at this price? Need a pretty good smoke for what you find under the cushions of your couch? Buy a curly head Fuente, you won't be disappointed.

"Decent"
This is a decent inexpensive smoke. Plain brown wrapper with minimal veins. Average construction despite being fairly soft throughout the entire stick (despite ideal storage conditions). Prelight aroma almost nonexistent. Easy light on the shaggy foot. Good draw. Even burn throughout without the need for relights or touchups (which was unexpected given the softness). Gray-white ash and TONS of billowy white smoke. Started with mild leather and tobacco, and was fairly bland through the first half. The second half, however, introduced a pleasant cedar flavor and a very mild herbaceous note that combined with the above tobacco and leather to produce a decent flavor profile. This stick, while not extraordinarily complex or distinctive, still was enjoyable nonetheless, especially for the price. Lasted an hour and 15 minutes, and paired well with Killer Beans. Good for what it is.

I usualy love Fuents but this one wasn't all that good. Don't get me wrong is ok for a yard gar but not a sit down for the full enjoyment of a cigar smoke. The Madie is much better. "Good cigar, cheap price"
This is a cigar with a nice flavor, and it benefits from smoking it slowly. I am told that the lonsdale shape is the easiest to roll, and that the least experienced hand rollers usually start with them. The cigars are less than uniform--some have nice construction and others do not. Slow-smoking helps smooth out the draw when it gets tight, and helps even out the wrapper when the ash starts to creep on one side. The wrapper, depending on the cigar, may flake away late in the smoke. Not consitently pretty, but consistently flavorfull. It's my everyday smoke, and on the weekend I treat myself to a Hemmingway.

"good"
I bought a box from my local tobacconist for a great price. They look pretty cool as you can see why they are called "curly heads". The draw is not so smooth at first but after a while it smooths out and becomes a good cigar. They taste like "cherry almond" almost and the wrapper is silky to the touch. It is by no means a great cigar but for the price it is well worth your try. I have had super premiums that have been worse, so give it a try. I have bought two boxes since my first try.

"bad"
This is not a good cigar. The wrapper felt dry and rough to the touch, though construction wasn't terrible, it wasn't the best - it was a tad soft and lumpy. At first, I thought these cigars would deliver because I've had good experiences with Arturo Fuente - but boy was I wrong. First of all, this cigar just tasted bad. It was bitter, harsh, and the only discerning flavour I picked out was leather. Lots of bitter, leather. The smell wasn't too bad but because of the taste, it was just a terrible smoke. It also left this horrid aftertaste. The first one I actually forced myself to finish and I thought that maybe it was a single mistake so I let the other one age a little. But smoking the second one, it was even worse than the first and I had to put it out after 1.5 inches. I had an absolutely terrible time with this smoke.
