"Great little cigar"
I went to my local B&M on my lunch break looking for a quick smoke to pass the afternoon. After some searching I came across these beauties tucked away in some dark corner of the humi. Wrapper looked good and the pre-light aroma was very nice. I lit up right in the store and was greeted with a nice woody flavor. After the light up it settled into a solid medium body and the woody flavor was joined by leather and pepper. About 1/2 way a sweet undertone came into play which was a very nice addition and kept things interesting. Draw was perfect but the burn needed a few touch ups here and there. Nothing that ruin the smoke though. With less than an inch to go a harsh tar flavor stepped in signaling the end of the smoke. Overall another great Fuente although a bit overpriced for the size. Will definitely buy again though.

"This is a great little smoke!"
What a great smoke. Sometimes I don't have the time to burn a double corona so this suits the situation well. Its a solid 25-30 minute smoke and burns beautifully! I keep a few of these handy wherever I am in case I don't have the time to enjoy a Siglo VI.

"C+"
My taste may be biased because I enjoy full-bodied cigars so much. This Don C4 lacked character. The flavor was one dimensional and boring in my opinion. I didn't finish it. The burn was uneven. I have another in the humi, but I think I'll give that to a friend who likes mild-medium cigars.

The VSG Tres Mystique this afternoon was much better

"Great smoke for the price"
I tried 3 of these from different shops before I sat down to write this review--just to make sure I gave it a fair shake. Very, very consistent in both quality and taste with each stick. Wrapper was nice looking, but a little "rough"...although the looks didn't take away from the smooth cameroon flavor. Great construction and burn.
Produced plenty of rich smoke with a great peppery flavor most of the way through. Very robust, but not overwhelming or harsh. Left a pleasant aftertaste. My only complaint was that it tended to smoke hot toward the last 1 1/2" or so. Other than that minor issue, this cigar is typical Fuente quality and construction. One of their better smokes in my opinion.

"Sincerely Cameroon"
A friend and I did a contrast & compare of this and a Partagas natural robusto last weekend. I've smoked my way through 3 of these now, and can say that the manufacture on these is very good; the size is great for cold-weather outoor smoking, and the burn is consistent. The flavor of the first inch from both cigars was very much the same; lots of great Cameroon, with the AF being slightly more dry flavored, but also burning slower. The Partagas evolved more flavor, but that could be expected in a robusto, while the AF was extremely consistent throughout. It would be very hard for me to pay over 2x as much for this cigar as for the Partagas, even though it burns better and is a beautiful and functional size.
NEXT CONTRAST & COMPARE (coming soon): MC Afrique Machame vs. AFDC#4.

"Best of the Best"
I've smoked through the entire Don Carlos line and they are all excellent! However, the No. 4 is the best of the best.

Flawless construction, inviting herbal aroma pre-light, copious smoke, clean, even burn, full, rich flavor with a hint of spice.

I've gone through boxes of the No, 4 and smoked every one to the nub!

"love cameroons now"
I had high hopes for this cigar when I got a fiver, and my hopes were fulfilled!. The wrapper showed no veins, but did however have a slight crack towards the foot. Most importantly though, the flavor was awesome. Sweet and spicy, and it gave off subtle flavor nuances that tell you enjoying this particular cigar. Cigar was very smooth and had not a hint of bitterness, all the way down to the nub. The last 1" was filled with spice that tickled the lips and pleased the palate. Definitely worth buying a box.

Loved the cigar and I lliked the look of this mini-belicoso. Very smooth smoke. Never tasted bitter and I almost burned my fingers smoking this one down to the end. It seems the Don Carlos line is overlooked as compared to the Hemingway and Opus line of Fuente cigars. Bad mistake by some making it a better value for the smoker who wants a great cigar.

"Very tasty skinny cigar"
This corona-sized cigar with its shaped head looks a bit unusual but is otherwise solid and well-made. It's a good performer: mostly even burn, fine draw producing plenty of smoke, and a well-formed grayish ash. This is a very tasty smoke with rich wood and dark tea flavors with hints of caramel from the onset; some cinnamon appears later as the flavors get mellower. Gets a bit hot only at the very end, not a surprise given the small ring size. An excellent smoke, as good as the No. 3 and much better than the No. 2.

"Nice shorter smoke"
Wonderful construction and appearence, as with most Fuentes. I like the stronger flavor of the Don Carlos line. I think they are much more interesting than the regular line. This drew well and burned like a champ. Bready taste with leather and toast notes. Never became harsh, but stayed medium. The only problem is that this is only a "nice cigar" and in my opinion, not worth $7.00. Notwithstanding, if you like Fuente's than you will love the step up from the usual Fuente taste.

I like small cigars. I am a Robusto smoker, but this size is fine. This is the best snall cigar I have ever tasted. I keep thinking of Cherries garcia Ben and Jerrie's (sp?) ice cream when I think about the smoke. Flawless construction, and smooth as silk aging. If not for the cost, I woukld live on these and the Don Carlos line.

"In A Word, Magnificent!"
Now I understand why people fuss over top-notch cigars. By chance, I was cruising the Famous-Smoke Website and saw they had the Don Carlos #4 in stock. At $6.50 a stick they weren't inexpensive, but I took the plunge and bought a box, based on the ratings on that site and here. I let them rest a few weeks in the humidor, then tried my first tonight. Whoa! My immediate first impression was like the first time I tried a Pouilly-Fuisse French white wine: clear, crisp with incredible body. Through its entire length, the DC #4 kept playing a symphony on my palate, with streams of pepper, spice, coffee and cocoa alternating and mixing at various times. This corona (my favorite size cigar) finally got a touch hot at the end, but I was burning my fingers before I put it down. Like Pouilly-Fuisse, this cigar is too pricey for me to enjoy every night, but I've decided that it delivers plenty of value commensurate with that cost. By all means, try one--or a box--if you have the chance.
