"one word descibes this event"
I have tried a lot of cogars over the years and just had my first Ashton Cabinet Belicoso - the word is great. I just got some for $6.00 + ea. Even though it was great, I would not spend more than $6.00 to watch it go up in smoke.

"Not bad for a mild cigar."
I must admit to reading a few reviews of this cigar before writing. I enjoy cigars, but I haven't gotten to the point of wine god yet and I'm not close to cigar god to point out "hints of cedar."
This was a mild smoke. I'm a fan of maduros, a bigger cigar, but this came with a group I bought a while back. It's at least a year old, but has been kept in a humidor. The wrapper was still oily so I think it was fine. Cigar cut cleanly, and felt and looked well rolled. The burn wasn't completely even, and did burn out twice, but that could have been my inability to correctly light a cigar, and because I was talking too much and not smoking enough a few times. Or it could have been all Ashton's fault. 🙂
The first 1/3rd, it was fine, an average smoke. Not great, nothing exciting. The second 1/3rd had a bit more body, some flavors and notes I can't discern (for this or any other cigar), but was better than the first 1/3rd. The last 1/3rd, which some say 'tis better to throw away, was a bit hotter. I've been doing short puffs in succession rather than long draws, and that's helped with the smoke becoming too hot. The first 10% of the last 1/3rd was again unremarkable, and getting too hot, and the other 90% is sitting in my neighbors trash can.
Overall? A good mild smoke. I like sticks with more flavor, so my review is biased I suppose, but even if I try to be fair, this was average, maybe a hint above average.
I don't remember what I paid, so my price is a guess.

"Good, but not great"
This was my second time smoking this cigar. The first was in Austin and I remembered it being very good. Which I thought was odd since I usually don't care for mild smokes. However I had also enjoyed a few, uhhhhhhh, "adult beverages" before hand so I wasn't sure if that had clouded my judgment or not. This is a nice looking cigar with a light brown wrapper, pointed cap and hard as a rock feel to it. Opened up with some bitterness that stayed for the first 1/2 inch. After that the real flavors began to settle in. First third was nutty with light touches of leather and cedar. Spiciness began to come in on the second third. Unfortunately, the last third began to get harsh and tarry. Mild-light medium in body. The cigar began to smoke very hot in the last couple of inches which is surprising considering the tight roll. Burn was perfect and needed no corrections. This thing made an impressive ash as well. I got about two inches before I felt it needed to be ashed and even then it took a couple of solid taps to make it drop. Draw was just fine as well. Overall, this smoke wasn't as good as I had remembered it being. It's by no means a bad cigar just not a $9 one. If you're a mild fan though don't take my word and try one for yourself.

"smooth and mild"
A mild, smooth very well constructed cigar to enjoy in the morning or afternoon. I smoked quite a few of these nice elegant cigars when i did not wanted a strong smoke but something milder yet flavourful and they were all flawless, smooth from start to end, only drawback the price.

"smoothie"
I normally enjoy full bodied cigars. On the occasion that I feel like something more mild this is my favorite. Mild yet flavorful and rich.

"great smoke!"
I had one of these after letting it sit in my humidor for a few months. Everything about this cigar was great. A nice even burn, very creamy and spicy. Didn't pack the punch that I though it would. This was more on the medium side. Paid $7.50 which wasn't too bad.

"not what I had hoped for"
paid 8.70 for one here in palm beach. Not what I had in mind from an Ashton. It was bitter and the burn was uneven after much correction. Probably wont be spending any more money on these anymore. Sat it the humi for 2 weeks.

"a little let down"
I expected more I guess and I will let them age for a while and try them again but I found them very bitter for the first half after that a much better flavor, good draw, perfect burn.

"A pleasure to smoke"
From start to finish this was a relaxing enjoyable smoke. This is my go to cigar on the golf course. Maybe just abit mild for alot of smokers, but out of 3 smokes I haven't found a flaw.

"Ok...Ok...I was a little premature"
I threw the rest of my box in the Dor...and waited for a few months. These pretty fawn colored smokes tasted far different than my first experience...I enjoyed one with a little 23 year old Rum and it held its own. Some burn issues, but nothing major. Nice overall flavor, a bit mild (and perhaps a bit non-descript in terms of flavor profile)...but it added to the occasion and didn't hit you over the head with a 16 pound sledge. A great golf course or poker cigar...

"Tastes like ASS"
I sparked one of these up on the way home from a White Sox playoff victory....so it should have tasted especially sweet. But is sucked. Poor burn...a bit too harsh (although I am not a big VSG fan, either)...and not would I expect from a $7 cigar (I bought a box for $185). Anyone want them? I will throw them in the humi and see if they mellow.

"Gotta love Ashtons!"
I have never been disappointed by an Ashton cigar, especially the Cabinet series and the VSG. They are consistantly great! Smoothe, creamy taste w/ chocolate and nuttiness, particularly pistachio on the finish. I almost want to inhale these they taste so good. They are especially good on a hot summer day, when you want something smooth and mellow, with a great aroma and a nice clean finish.

"Consitent excellence"
Always beatiful and smooth to the touch, this cigar is a good friend who is always there for you. Warm creamy toffee and very light floral and honey qualities emerge in thick waves of tender smoke. Elegant finish and pleasant aroma round out the time and again greatness of this Fuente made beauty. Get a box and every time you're dissapointed by another cigar smoke one of these to make friends with tobacco again.l

"Excellent"
Smooth, mild stick. From appearance to flavor this was a pleasure. No sure if the price tag was worth it, but I've experienced mediocore smokes for alot more money. Alittle more than I would pay for an everyday smoke, but a couple a week is within reason.

"Mild yet flavorful"
As I enjoy milder cigars, this one was a real treat! Began super mild with hints of chocolate that got nuttier through the middle, and finally was surprised by a fairly complex coffee/spice finish. Great construction and appearance. Only downside is the price. I have smoked cigars that were nearly as good for about half of what I paid for this one.

"great aroma"
many brands make consisently good cigars, ashton makes consistently great cigars. although i prefer the puro sol over this cigar, this i still a great cigar. the burn was a little uneven other than that i have no complaints. the thing that jumped out most at me was the great aroma, also this cigar had a great finish.

"eh..."
I am quite disappointed at this cigar. While the construction on this baby was perfect...and the wrapper was flawless...the taste of it was just not quite up to my liking. MAYBE it's because I have a taste for fuller-bodied cigars and just have a difficult time adjusting to milder cigars. This was definitely mild. When I smoke an Ashton...it's the VSG and THOSE are amongst my absolute favorites. I know it's comparing apples to oranges here...but I am disappointed nonetheless. Especially for an 8 dollar cigar. This is just so...ummm...YAWN. No flavors...no complexity...just...YAWN.
I really despise paying over 6 for a cigar that lets me down like this. I'm a cheapskate, I know...but when I can spend 5 bucks on a LGC that really turns me on, I'm extra hard on paying 8 bucks for something that leaves me wanting so much more...

"Not a warrior at all"
Smoked 3 of them already. All had a completely uneven burn and flaky ash.
I had to relight each 3-4 times. No flavour at all.
A disappointing Ashton....
