"Good smoke, bad wrapper"
The flavor and richness of the cigar was top notch. Unfortunately the wrapper was not in the mood to keep up with the filler.

I was given a free one by my tobacconist (I spend to much with him).. and after letting it sit in my humidor for a few weeks, I decided to bring it out to enjoy it.

When I removed it from the humidor it still appeared to be in good shape. However about 30 minutes later when I got around to smoking it, it appeared to be cracking all over the sides. The binder luckily held it together, however the wrapper was a complete loss before I even got down 1/3.

"Cool smoke"
Bought a box recently. Nice appearance, nice rich smoke with a touch of sugar and spice on your pallet. Burned evenly, nice draw. Awesome looking Cameroon wrapper and creamy notes toward the middle.

"Excellent"
I've bought several singles and finally purchased a box. They are a bit to expensive for a daily smoke but definitely worth the price.

"Very good"
Has a real nice tasty cameroon wrapper and typical great Ashton construction. The taste is very similar to AF Hemingways, which incidentially is one of my favorite smokes, but this one is maybe a little milder than the AF. Mild to medium bodied, has a sweet peppery taste to it. Not really complex, just a solid smoke. Stronger than the Cabinet selection but much milder than the VSG. Worth a try for fans of Hemingways, Ashtons, or anyone looking for a quality smoke. May not be worth the high price but it's a well above average cigar.

"Great tasting!"
I too had terrible wrapper problems ( like Sundial, the review before me). I had purchased two boxes (about two years ago) from two seperate cigar stores, both boxes had brittle wrappers. However, After contacting Ashton they were quick to remedy the problem by sending me two replacement boxes. (I returned the bad ones to them) The replacement cigars are Excellent tasting and top notch construction! The people at Ashton have demonstrated their commitment to customer satisfaction! Don't hesitate to try one. All sun grown tobaccos make for a unique taste that most seasoned ciagr smokers should appreciate.

"Great Tast, Fragile Wrapper"
I love the taste and complexity - best of all the Ashton's IMHO, but out of two boxes, about half had severe wrapper problems, with tearing, cracking, some basically shredded in my hand. (Had been in my humi about 6 mos, with proper humidity/temp) When I complained to Ashton, their rep called me and seemed genuinely concerned and sent me a replacement box, but I'll hesitate to buy more. Great taste, nice complexity, but that wrapper thing...uh!

"not worth the money"
This cigar turned out to be a big waste of time for me. It started out too slow and then didn't bring enough flavor to keep me interested. I enjoy hemminway and don carlos much much more for the price. Ashton may have winners in the VSG, cabinet, and aged maduros but this one is seriously lacking.

"outstanding"
this was one of the best cigars i have ever had, perhaps only second to the Padron '64 maduro toredo. the construction and burn was perfect, the appearance was great, a sungrown cameroon, how can you go wrong. i thought it was similar to the CAO 65th anniversary except the blend of tobacco was better and more complex. i couldn't find one thing that wasn't outstanding about this cigar. i really cannot understand some of the other reviewers comments but i guess to each his own. i think they were just a little bitter about the price perhaps, which incidently was a steal for this cigar.

"I guess I expected more"
Pricey ($11). Big. Handsome. Taste? Had that "battery on your tongue" taste. You know, somewhat metallic. I mostly smoke robust or maduro, so I enjoy and appreciate full body. I don't think this cigar was full bodied, just tasted like tangy wood.

"Outstanding!!"
These cigars are wonderful. Smooth, sweet, cool burning. I smoked one on the beach on the 4th of July and can't remember when I've enjoyed a cigar more. A little pricey.

"Yet another dissapointing Ashton"
A coarse chocolate colored wrapper that would burn unevenly. The draw was good and the powdery ash had a slightly rose colored hue. The flavor was woody and boring with a flat nondescript finish.
