"Great Morning Smoke"
I usually indulge in the VSG; however, this was a wonderful morning smoke that I shared with my black coffee. Cream, earth and a touch of sweetness in the finish. I recommend this one.

"Superb"
I cannot believe the reviews. This is not an opus X or Diamond Crown Maximus and is not INTENDED TO BE!
This is a fine dead on medium smoke. Solid cedar and leather notes. Even burn. Very nice, never harsh aroma. Well constructed cigar that you can leave sitting for a few minutes and still holds without a relight. Some tightwads say overpriced--I thought it was one of the few cigars that justifies a $10 price. Very solid cigar and a top 5 for me for sure. Give it a try

"UPDATE: Still Top Notch"
I do not understand the recent poor reviews for this very good cigar. Perhaps these members do not appreciate the spice and rich character of the Cameroon wrapper. These rank better than Hemingway and Don Carlos ... IMHO. The burn was very much improved, perhaps due to nearly an extra year aging since I last reviewed this fine cigar. The texture of the smoke in itself makes this a top notch cigar. Excellent roll, nice even burn and great draw. Very handsome chestnut brown wrapper. Delicious and well refined straight-forward tobacco flavor, accompanied by bread and traces of fancy nuts. I smoked this baby down to the nub, and almost burned my fingers. One of the very few cigars actually worth around $8. One of my top ten favorites. By all means, try one.

"meh"
Aged at least 1 year (was a gift so not sure of age). This moderately attractive, medium bodied smoke had a fantastic draw and a very sub-par burn. The flavor started a very unrefined cedar.earth not befitting this price point. It then moved onto a cedar.pepper.spice flavor that was, while better, still not very sophisticated. About halfway through, the flavor became a little smoother and took on a background cinnamon note. A little after that, the flavor became oak.pepper and much more refined. I just never felt like the cigar completely "blossomed" and would only recommend it if it were 1/2 it's selling price.

"Overpriced"
This cigar did nothing for me. I paid $8.50 and felt it was worth about $5. It had a slight harshness on the palate at the begining and later turned to a stale taste and never spiced up. Very disapointing. Although it did have a wonderful burn and draw and construction.

"A Real Treat If You Have $8 TO $10 To Spare"
This Ashton is one fine cigar. Well rolled, great draw. A teeny bit of an uneven burn, which I am guessing is due to the high quality of the Cameroon wrapper. It is a thick and oily wrapper, and struggles to burn evenly with the burn of the fillers. It in no way impedes the enjoyment of the cigar. The silky texture of the medium body smoke is among the finest I have ever experienced. Buttery, and smooth as leather. This attribute in itself makes this one of the few cigars worth this high of an asking price. The tobacco flavor is refined and delicious. There are overtones of toasty bread, and a hint of nuts. The next time there is an extra $10 to spare towards the cigar budget, I highly recommend trying an Ashton Heritage Puro Sol.

"Eh..."
I just finished smoking about half of one of these, and I was not impressed. It had been in my humidor for about 6 weeks, and I was really looking forward to it because it looked great. Appearance was superb. Construction was good, but someone could have been a little less sloppy with the glue. Light, burn and ash were fine, but the draw was pretty tight. Overall, this cigar is pretty darn mild. I found nothing in the first half of this cigar that could be characterized as "rich" or "spicy." There was a hint of woodiness at one point, but as quickly as it appeared, it disappeared. The two reasons I really didn't like this cigar (and put it out at the halfway point) are because the predominant flavor was an unappetizing "sweetness" and because there just wasn't much smoke. I like a cigar with thick, creamy smoke and lots of flavor. This had neither. I have another in the humidor and will update the review if anything changes. In the meantime, I will enjoy some of the MANY other cigars out there that have more flavor, more character and a better price.

"Better than Hemingways"
A nicely spiced medium bodied smoke, slightly sweet and extremely aromatic. Sweet kitchen spices abound, turning to a light leather on the finish. An excellent cameroon wrapper. Decent construction, though it didn't burn perfectly even. No biggie. I'd smoke these all day long if I could afford to.

"Pricey but very good"
This long and solid robusto has a lightly veiny wrapper but has good color and nice oils. Other than a slightly loose draw, it's an excellent performer with an even burn, ash that holds on forever, and lots of smoke; it also stays solid throughout, never getting spongy. It has sweet wood flavors and a spiciness consisting of pepper and ginger. It's smooth and not overpowering, with a pleasantly long finish. The flavors fade a bit at the end, however. Like all Ashtons it's expensive, but you never doubt that you're smoking a premium cigar.

"If you like creme anglaise..."
If you like the holidays, if you like warm, thick eggnog, if you like the sweet aroma of vanilla, bring a friend over and fill your den with the smoke from this cigar while you drink a nice glass of scotch (neat of course). The flavor is smoother and milder than most would expect, but that by no means reflects a lack thereof. Sit with your eyes closed while you let the smoke roll out of your mouth, and enjoy finding the sublte qualities that make smoking a delight.

"I Expected A Fuller Experience"
After the long anticipated wait and reading the press on the new line, I was expecting a much fuller bodied smoke. The line is with no doubt a quality medium body and smooth vitola.
I was expecting it's 3 sun-grown components (Wapper, Filler, Binder) to react in an explosive taste and sensory happening! No, instead it’s smooth with good taste and finish. In my opinion it's a bit pricey, but great for a morning smoke. All aspects of this product are A1, if you're into smooth, medium bodied cigars.

"Ditto"
As stated in the previous review, this cigar, though beautifully constructed, did not provide much oomph for the money. Medium body and a bit lacking in the finish. The VSG line is a much better choice, in my opinion.

"Smooth"
Mild to medium, very smooth cigar. High quality though, not much spcial or unique character. A bit over priced.
