"Good But Not Great"
This perfect little petite measures 4.3 x 44 and is a lovely cigar. The pre-smoke is nice with a perfect wrap and wonderful smell. The first flavors were very smooth, not over powering and were mostly nutty with a nice taste of milky cream. I was loving this cigar in the second part of the smoke when coco formed and tastes of woods and spicy leather. It still held its creamy taste until the last stage where it became stronger and more of a clean spice taste which isn't my favorite. At the very end, the coco came back with medium strength and then ended with a cedar clean finish. This was a great cigar, but in my opinion it isn't worth the price of $14+.

"sweet cedar"
One of the best cigar aromas I've smelled. The smell is of sweet cedar, almost incense-like. The taste is similiar to the aroma but a bit stronger with a very slight charry hint. Like previous reviewers I had persistant burn problems, but it was the best cigar I've had with such a poor, tunneling burn. A cheaper, less delicious cigar would have been tossed with such burn problems, but I stuck with the smoke because of its great taste and aroma. It did not start burning decently until about one and half inches in, which is a big loss, and makes one kind of feel cheated. Such an expensive cigar should have a perfect burn.

"Round two"
Ok, so I know I said in my last review that I would let my other Tres Mystique sit for about 8-10 months but on the advice of some fellow smokers I pulled the other one out tonight. After the last experience with this cigar I really didn't know what to expect here. Gave this one a clip and lit it up. Started out with the same burn problems the first one had. Weak and uneven making it very hard to get this one going. Had to correct it twice due to run issues but was able to get things right though. Draw on this one was perfect and produced lots of smoke. Taste was just average. On occasions there would be a long lasting sweetness on the finish but overall there wasn't much going on with this cigar. My experience with this stick was much better than the last one but that is still not saying much here. I think I'm done with the Tres Mystique for good. I'll give the VSG line another shot but definitely in a different size.

"Little"
Got $8 and 30 minutes to burn? Then this sticks for you. All the complex flavors, great construction, easy draw, and burn properties of the VSG line, but scaled down to miniature. For the money I could enjoy two Short Stories and have change for the parking meeter.

"Maybe I had a bad one...."
Got this one from the local B&M and let is sit in the humi for about a month at 68-71% RH. Pulled it out tonight and paired it with a small glass of Gentleman Jack. Wrapper was silky smooth and it cut easily with a 7mm punch. Light up was simple with the nipple foot and the opening flavor was nice. After that though things went downhill. Draw turned extremely loose and the cigar put itself out. I knocked off the nipple ash and re-lit. Burn was very weak and draw remained very loose. It stayed like this and even began to tunnel some. Finally I got frustrated and opened up the flame on it. This seemed to do the trick as the burn finally began to even out and the draw tightened up. The rest of the smoke was un-eventful only requiring small touch-ups here and there. Taste was one dimensional to me and the last third of the cigar began to show some slight chemical and hay flavor. On the up side though it did smoke cool despite all the touch-ips and the wrapper felt nice and silky between the fingers. I''ve got another one of these in my aging humidor and will probably try again here in about 8-10 months to see if that changed anything.

Small package, great full flavor. What a firecracker! Smokes a lot bigger than it is.

"My favorite"
The smallest member of the famous VSG line, this cigar has a nice rich color and a rough cap.A nice small cigar. I think this one from five of my bests' cigars.

Usual great VSG construction. Flavor very good, but not quite up to the rest of this line.

"Purely awsome, every time"
This is in my top three cigars, tied some where in there with the enchantment of this same series. I have never had any issue with this smake, which I enjoy often. That is more than I can say for most. They are almost completley worth the price I pay.

"VSG v. PAN/PAM"
First of all, what is going on with the reported $36 average price paid on here? Someone is lying. These can be had for under $10 pretty much everywhere this side of California. Moving on, it seems that every time I smoke a VSG, I boldly declare it my favorite NC line of cigars. Then I'll smoke a Padron Anni and decide that I must have been wrong with the VSG declaration. Then I smoke another VSG and claim the endorsement in favor of the PAN(M) was foolish. And so the debate in my mind continues. It had been awhile since I'd gone the VSG route, and I'd never tried the smallest size in the line, so when I had a free 30 minutes, I thought I'd try this one out, as it had been resting for about a year and a half. Little did I know this tiny smoke would last me almost 50 minutes to the nub! The burn was great despite user error on the light (the drastically uneven flare-up I subjected this cigar to may qualify as the worst light in the history of lights). The would-be canoe burn quickly corrected itself and burned evenly throughout. I'd recalled a slight sweetness with the VSGs I smoked in the past, but I didn't get that with this small size. Instead, this cigar was characterized by lots and lots of earth and leather. The smoke was almost full bodied, and packed a surpising nicotine punch to it, so smokers who haven't built up a tolerance yet should show this smoke some respect. Ultimately, I really enjoyed this cigar, but it wasn't quite what I remember from the VSG line in the past, which may have pointed me in the direction of the Padron Anniversario line once and for all!

"Too hard to find, but worth it"
I had the opportunity to pick up one of these little guys a couple of weeks ago. I have heard alot of them and wanted to check it out myself. I was a little shocked at the sticker price, since it was $15.75, but you only live once. The construction is decent, nice burn, but a little uneven at times. I was surprised at the flavor, this guy has a little kick. Started off pretty smooth, but the flavor intensified midway. Draw was decent, lasted approx. 35 mins. Not a bad smoke, but a little pricey for a daily smoke, and seems to be hard to find in stock.

"Excellent"
Great flavors in a small package. Nutty, creaminess and spice describe the flavor. Earthy tones also. Basically, all the flavors I like came together in a great package. Burn was sharp with white ash. Draw was near perfect. Two thumbs up.

"good but a little overrated"
This is the 2nd VSG I have smoked and I still have to say, this is a good cigar but tends to be overrated. VSG's are strong and have a unique sort of taste, salty and peppery and floral. Someone said almost like "perfume" and it definitely reminds you of that, especially the smell the cigar puts in the air. Has a nice dark wrapper, typical good Ashton construction; no problems with the draw. Flavor fades at about the usual place for cigars, maybe 1/2 way down and it starts to get bitter, but nothing too bad here. Like I said in the other review I made for a VSG this is a decent cigar, but there is no "flavor explosion" you might be led to believe by other reviews. Definitely worth a try if you can find one relatively cheap (make sure you're not new to cigars, this is strong), but don't expect to have your socks blown off.
I think $6 ot $7 would be a fair price for this size but all Ashtons are overpriced it appears.

"Another Fine Mild Smoke but....."
This one seems to have a lot of complex flavors and might actually shade a little towards medium. Excellent draw and construction, very nutty and woody without being harsh. The flavor was very good for a cigar this small, smooth and creamy with gobs of thick smoke. It could use some age IMHO but a very good morning or midday smoke.

"Good, but . . ."
Great looking cigar. Very nice draw. Solid salt and peper ash. Slightly uneven burn. Very good, interesting, flavor profile. Relaxing cigar, but not as powerful as I had expected. Fairly long, pleasant finish. Good, but expected more for the price.

"Super little smoke"
Did I read correctly, average price paid $54? Someone must have entered a B.S. price because I got it for $8.50 from my B&M where prices run high. Nice little cigar, spicy with some expresso and cocoa overtones. very subdued. Razor sharp burn, draw was a bit firm but produced an ample amount of smoke. Frankly, I can smoke a Party short cheaper and that is what I will usually do, but this was available at the B&M and a nice change of pace.

"Overhyped and overrated"
I've read and heard how great Ashton cigars are supposed to be from Cigar Aficianado on down. So, I tried one a few weeks ago. It was decent, but overpriced and overhyped. Don't get me wrong, it was a decent smoke, but wasn't bursting with flavor. It reminded me of a Fuente Hemingway that was missing an ingredient. This smoke was good, but the Hemingways are a better flavor and value.

"Wonderful Small Cigar"
Liked it tremendously. Better than fuente hemingway short story and the padron anniversary principe maduro (both of which I like very much). Wonderful small cigar with plenty of power. Got a tad bitter down by the label, but well worth the money.

"Expensive & small, but great"
The smallest member of the famous VSG line, this cigar has a nice rich color and a rough cap.
While it has a slightly uneven burn, the draw is almost perfect and the ash produced is typically Ashton and beautiful. It takes a few minutes to warm up; once it does, you're treated to balanced flavors of cedar and spice that are medium in body and very smooth. It's a finger burner that smokes reasonably cool despite the small ring guage. A spicy finish with a comfortable buzz at the end. Pricey, but one of the best small cigars out there.

"Nice...Sweeeet...Niiice"
A friend sent me this in a bomb to show me that there are some non ISOMs that can compete. YESSIRE this was an excellent smoke cocoa coffee and plenty of spice it was a very enjoyable smoke. I recommend them highly. It is true it is not as good as the Party Short but in my opinion that is the top in this vitola.

"This little stick has some kick"
A bit too spicy for my taste...a bit of a harsh draw, but very flavorful. Even bitter on the lips...although I know that this is a much hyped smoke, I can not put it in my top ten. I would smoke a Hemingway, Davidoff, Zino, Padron...hell, I would save the money and smoke a La Aroma de Cuba and get another half hour of enjoyment as well as another $5 to buy a beer with it.

"Would have gotten higher review smoked alone"
I had this one in a side by side comparison with a Party Short. Night and day, the Party I nubbed, I got this one to 1/3 then I left it to burn out. Cigar smelled mouthwatering initially. Great construction, nice even draw, perfect burn, loads of smoke. The flavor was unusually flowery but one dimensional and stayed much the same as it burned. Ash was very firm. A nice small cigar but the flavor didn't compare to the Party short that I paid less for. Nonetheless, this is a fine small cigar that provides complex and interesting flavors, I would buy it again if it was cheaper.

"VSG powerpack"
The Tres Mystique seems to be one of the more powerful offerings in this line of incredible cigars. This is one of the tastiest, and well constructed "high-end small cigars" out there. Certainly a worthy competitor with the Hemingways! Some pepper, and maybe some cocoa as well. Great draw and consistency throughout.

"Why"
I don't know why I keep trying cigars from this line. The flavor consistancy seems to be all over the place. I had one the other day that a friend gave me. It was excellent. Bursting with spicness and strength. The one I bought the other day, it was almost void of flavor and weak, like a Macanudo. Major bummer!
Both had a clean white ash that held togother and drew very well.

This new VSG entry is beautifully constructed. The burn was even to the end. Hearty and robust notes of cedar and leather. Very tasty. A little on the pricey side.
