Corny but true. Underestimated and under priced. Grab as many as you can, and get a wonderful supprise after a year. Rivals a $20.00 smoke...really.

"GREAT CIGAR"
I WAS AGAIN PLEASANTLY SURPRISED AS I STATED IN MY PREVIOUS REVIEW OF THE OTHER AVO IN THE SAMPLER PACK. FOR A GUY LIKE ME WHO IS A 7X50 & 6X50 LOVER A SHORTER SMOKE SOMETIMES IS NOT THE TICKET. HOWEVER THIS ONE BURNED SLOW ENOUGH AND EVEN WITH LOADS OF FLAVOR A GREAT BUY ALSO IN THE SAMPLER WITH A FREEBEE LIGHTER. WILL BUY SOME OF THESE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. AVO WAS WHAT SAMPLERS SHOULD BE. A GREAT WAY TO TRY SOMETHING OUT OF THE NORM. WILL AVERAGE PRICE OUT TO MATCH TRUE PRICE SEEING IT WOULD BE HIGHER BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTER DEAL WHICH BROUGHT UP THE PRICE ABOUT A BUCK OVER A TRUE SINGLE STICK PRICE OF $5

"Very Nice Treat ($$$)"
A very nice cigar. To make this an easy review to write, and a quick read, just scroll down to the last 4 or 5 reviews of this cigar, and I agree with all of them. Any serious cigar smoker must try one. If you are a casual smoker, pick up a single next time you have a few extra bucks. I still will value this at 9, because it is one of the few cigars over $5 that is worth the money. Much better than a lot of cigars at twice the price.

"Creamy"
Woody and creamy with an earthy finish the XO is a very good smoke. Construction on AVO cigars is spot on with no problems at all. Perfect burn and ash, firm and consistent are all trade marks of AVO cigars. Recomended. Just a little pricy.

"even"
AVO makes one solid cigar. The leaf is flawless in every cigar. I cannot believe that there aren't seconds somewhere of this cigar. There just has to be rejects. Anyway, expect deep wood and cram flavors from this one. Full, yet not as powerful as some AVO. A great intro to the line if you've not had one.

"An Excellent Cigar"
I can't say much negative about this cigar. It lit right up, burned evenly, looked beautiful and the flavor was consistently full bodied throughout. I have not had a bad Avo yet and the XO is the best so far.

"Nice smoke"
I was plesantly surprised by this slightly toothy smoke, which, after about a year and a half in the humi, was already beginning to plume. The Avo #2 was one of my first favorites (and I still pull one out from time to time when I want something light), but as I began to enjoy medium to full bodied smokes, I tried out one of the Domaines. Needless to say, I didn't enjoy that line (smoked the churchill size), and gave up on trying other Avo's for a long time. This Intermezzo came by way of a CBid sampler quite a while back. I would probably describe it as medium bodied, yet still possessing a bit of that classic Avo creaminess that so well defines the #2. That said, there's still not a lot of complexity with this smoke. Seemed kind of woody throughout, with a good amount of earth at the finish. Slightly soft to the touch--as are most Avos--it burned like a dream for the first half, and gave me tons of smoke througout. However, after that first half, it began to canoe, and even continual touch-ups didn't correct the problem entirely. The uneven burn wasn't too drastic, however, and didn't ruin the smoke by any means. This is a pretty good smoke if you want to try an Avo that brings a bit more umph than the brand's prototypical cigar.

"2 outta 3"
well i was about to rant and rave over this cigar until my third one made me fall OUT!!! it was no doubtly young tobacco, some green leaf. i was genuinely ill over this medium bodied, Connecticut wrapped smoke and ive ha COhiba Sublimes for breakfast!

When it was good it was crazy unique. i swear i noticed a hint of curry. there was a exotic far east like aroma and flavor baked by Davidoffs classic grasy, tin/metallic flavor. (wish theyd work on that)

"overpriced at half the cost!"
Aging 3 months in my humidor did not improve the overall experience I had with this cigar. The AVO XO Intermezzo is very nice looking cigar. The construction is first rate. The cigar lite evenly and each draw provided ample amounts of smoke. A light graw ash developed and held on for over an inch leaving a perfectly shaped coned ember. It continued to burn evenly for the entire cigar which I smoked to the nub. Reading the other reviews of this cigar illustrates how subjective taste is, I have to side with those who did not like this cigar. I gave it a 5 and was being generous. Overpriced! even at half the $5.40 I paid.

"excellent cigar"
This is a good example of an elegant cigar that an experienced cigar smoker and a novice would enjoy. It is mild-bodied but has a lot of flavor, similar to other Davidoffs. The closest thing in the flavor deptartment I have smoked to this at about half the price is a private stock #14. The construction and appearance are impeccable. The first quarter inch or so has a bad taste, but this develops into a very well balanced cigar.

"Nice and creamy"
Just a word of advice ask people who sell you your cigars before you try a cigar. I prefer my cigars on the fuller side but this cigar was a pleasure to smoke. I first smoke this cigar about 6 monthes ago when a friend gave it to me after he had aged it 8 monthes. Creamy with a nutty flavor. I soon got me a five pack and waited until last week to smoke one. Creamy and nutty. Prefect burn and never harsh. For those who appreciate a good mild smoke that is creamy and nutty I highly recommend this one. This cigar was a fine example of a mild cigar that plays to what mild cigars lovers like and for full bodied lovers stay way from this cigar you will be disappointed

"Not for the price"
Not an awful cigar by any means, burned true and had a good amount of smoke. It was a bit on the mild side for my taste, like it wanted to be peppery but just couldn't get there. For 8 bucks you can smoke a couple Short Stories or a nice Partagas Habano, so why you would spend 8 bucks on one of these is beyond me.

"Nice and mild"
Very nice smoke. I'm more of a "Fuerte" kinda guy, but this was a satisfying. This would be a great starter cigar, or pre-dinner cigar that I would put along the lines of a R&J vintage. The flavor was light and with lots of creamy smoke. The wrapper was ultra silky and the draw was perfect. Ash was a solid light gray that held up close to an inch. It went well paired with tea.

"Not worth the money"
Been smoking cigars five months. In my newbie opinion, this cigar was good, but I've smoked better at half the price. Construction was good, and burn started sideways, but improved an inch in. I found it mild plus in body, and pretty light in taste.

These things are $10.00 retail where I live. Seems to me to be equal quality and taste (though somewhat different) to a $4.00 Sancho Panza Dulcina.

"Not worth the celophane it's wrapped in."
The AVO XO has the dubious honor of being the first and only cigar I’ve ever not finished. Like a book, I always try to finish what I start. I feel the author deserves at least a few hours of my attention for something they spent months or years working on. I feel the same about Cigars. The manufacturers, rollers, and marketers, spend countless hours developing new blends for my enjoyment, even if the outcome isn’t to my taste, I still respect the effort. At least I felt that way until last night. AVO seems to have forgotten why we smoke cigars. The cigar was so bad, I couldn’t make it past the first inch. It tasted like dry straw, with none of the tobacco flavors I enjoy with so many other cigars. This cigar wasn’t worth the cellophane it was wrapped in. Hey AVO, just a reminder…We smoke cigars for the FLAVOR. Go back to the drawing board, and put a little effort into it next time. I recommend you start by firing whoever decided floor sweepings from the barn would make a good cigar.

"Not that great"
I had the allegro size which is smaller than the Robusto...but I assume the construction is exactly cthe same. I did not think this smoke was very interesting. Medium-bodied with a cream taste, but turns bitter about 1/2 way down.
Burn was uneven and went out on me about 1/2 way down. May be some construction probs here.
This is a rather mild smoke and in my opinon is somewhat overpriced.

"Nice looking"
Smooth, but not much happening in the flavor department. Nice looking, wrapper had a few cracks but they didn't interfere. Started off mild, somewhat nutty, flaky light gray ash. Burn was even. The smell of the smoke that came from this one was nice, I would describe it as a somewhat floral note. Draw was perfect, taste didn't develop much, stayed smooth but very mild. I don't often smoke mild cigars so I don't have much of a reference to compare this one to, but if you like them smooth and mild, this one should be considered. The price is silly compared to what you get though.

Okay this was a very tasty cigar. Constructed very well, even burn, Very Oily (but has been aging for over five years in my humidor) Burn was a little quick.
