"Smooth Spice"
Smoked a '98 version of this cigar, and was not disappointed. Had that familiar Boli spice, but with a smoothness that belied that spice. Great draw and a straight burn, the cigar picked up steam as it went along, and suprised me at the end with some extra flavor reminisant of black licorice. A great cigar, probably even better because of its age.

"Good stuff!"
This cigar had a burly looking natural wrapper. The ash was grey and stacked like pancakes, not really sturdy, but not falling into my lap either. The draw was a tad tight though. The burn was even first half, but uneven second half, and had to be relit three times in second half. It had a nice toasty core with butter undertones, the core changed to a more leathery taste towards the end. There was a little nuttiness as well mixed in throughout the smoke. It got a little hot towards the end, but I expect that in smaller cigars. It was very relaxing, and quite a quick smoke. The smoke was a little thinner than I usually like, but I smoked it to the nub. It was a great smoke to end a great weekend.

"I dont know"
Ya know this is one of those smoke that you hope will get better with age. Starts off with really nice coffee tones. Then those tones become more of a coffee ground flavor. The flavor was smooth.
The construction is good and the burn was perfect. The draw was a bit tight.
I think this cigar lacks depth. I have been told that after a year these babies become super smooth sticks. We will see.

"Top Notch Corona."
Darker than usual wrappers on these. AH, Bolivars! Most have a vein or two and they oil up beautifully with a few weeks in a properly regulated humidor set at 65-68%. You can crank it up to 70% if, like me, you are putting them up for long term aging. A squeeze between the fingers revealed an even, supple roll. Nice looking cap and a rich, earthy aroma completes the pre-light description. The cigars light up right away and combustion was better than adequate. Most sticks burned right through without a re-light. The draw was just this side of firm and opened up just shy of halfway through. The firm ash was the correct speckled grey. Flavor started out medium/strong and got stronger from there. The smoke was thick and rich with loads of leather, pepper, and earth. Nice! The flavor of the few I've smoked from my late '05 batch was a bit conflicted in the way that young, strong tobacco can sometimes be but these give every indication that they will mature into truly memorable classics. I'll let you know.

"OK"
I had heard a lot about these, so when the opportunity arose to pick up some aged ones, I jumped. These were from 11/98 (NNSU VC4 ). Fairly plain brown wrapper with minimal veins. Good construction, though I detected one soft spot near the midmark. Faint prelight aroma. Easy light. Tight draw that did not loosen up much. Even burn without the need for relights or corrections. Gray ash. Started immediately with pepper and earth. This was joined by a raw tobacco taste in the first third. The second third introduced notes of leather, cocoa, and faint ripe blackberries. The last third brought whispers of burnt espresso on an earthy background. All in all, this one hour 15 minute medium-to-full bodied smoke was fairly enjoyable from the flavor department, though the tight draw detracted from the experience. Paired well with Haitian rum.

"Cuban decadence!"
I bougth this cigar with greatest expectations, but what a naughty experience! Construction was nice, but wrapper has little spots(fungus?); combustion was very difficult, it turns out every moment, wrapper does not burn at all; the flavor was like a Marlboro! Fellows: avoid it!

Beautiful, light golden-brown, oily wrapper, perfect draw, light and burn and FLAVOR in spades! Lots of rich, heavy smoke; started out medium bodied with some nice sweet and spice; 1/2 way mark was medium/full with more spice, a hint of wood and a wonderf

A VERY SATISFYING SMOKE. STARTS WITH HINTS OF NUTS AND MOVES SLOWLY INTO LEATHER AND CEDAR TONES. GOOD DRAW. NICELY ROLLED. FINISHES WELL. A BETTER VALUE THAN MONTCRISTO OR COHIBA AND EVERY BIT AS GOOD....A MUST TRY!
