CAO L’Anniversaire “eXtreme” Rothschild

I really like CAO but construction and burn issues are really starting to piss me off. I purchased a box of these in Dec of 2004 and have been plagued with burn and construction problems on all 6 I have smoked from this box. Very full bodied smoke with great aroma but these things consistently burn uneven and need to be touched up with the lighter constantly. I just exepect more for what I am paying. I am an avid CAO smoker and love most of their lines but burn problems seem to be so consistent with them.

I've always liked all the other CAO cigars I have tried in the past. I picked up this little one at a shop to try out. The construction was very good and the smell seemed to indicate that this was going to be an enjoyable smoke. However, after lighting up this cigar never produced much flavor at all. It was very mild and burned very well. But there just wasn't much taste. My first dissapointment from CAO.

Got this in a sampler pack. Unassuming little smoke that was a pleasant surprise in being flavorful without any bitterness (considering I didn't take any time to age this one). Excellent draw with copious spicy smoke. On a par with the mellower CEO Cameroons and far better than the unimpressive CAO maduros.

Noy impressed at all. One of the weakest premium cigars I had all year.
