"Excellent With Coffee"
Love these cigars! Nice hint of cocoa and a slight bit of spice makes these a great morning cigar. I've burned up two boxes and will soon be ordering a third. Construction is good and I've really only had one that had a draw issue.

"You spicy Vixen you.."
I love to try all different kinds of cigars, and I love a quality maduro. Recently bought a box of these after having a Gordo (shop was out of gordo boxes). Gave one to my business partner who is an "Ashton Only" smoker. He couldn't believe how incredible the flavor was. The burn was perfect and the taste of spice was just the right balance. I look forward to seeing people's reactions to how "gentle" this MM actually is. The double has a tendancy to scare some people off, but this is a nice smooth smoke with a steady flavor all the way to the band.

"New Luxury..."
I tried one of these for the first time at a cigar bar just outside of Chicago. First off, plan for an Hour and a Half to make it through this monster. Second, plan to really enjoy yourself. It started with a very smooth, coco flavor that was never too prominent or strong, along with notes of cedar and wood. It developed about 1/2 way through with a more woodsy note, but never too spicy. That was the real surprise here... it never got Acrid or Acidic the way some maduro belicoso cigars will because of the end taper. It was on the medium side of smooth, but in this case that is a compliment... it was complex, without overpowering, but remaining a robust, enjoyable smoke. Ash was somewhat dark (due probably to a slightly high humidity level) and one or two burn issues, that self corrected. I'll be buying a box of these soon.

the cigar is solid and burned perfect the whole way. I liked the smooth smoke and the flavor was not harsh but gentle. The aroma of the cigar as well as the taste was spicy. The name of the cigar Kool also, so I bought a box.

"One big stick."
Ok this is one big stick to say the least. It's big on flavor also. I very much enjoyed this big smoke too. I an a maduro lover so this big creamy mother was perfect to fill the bill. Construction was spot on with no issues at all. San the flavor was wonderful rich and creamy with spice, sweet chocolate dark and a touch of coffee in there too. Really a very enjoyable cigar.

"Tight-fisted delight"
The main problem with this smoke is draw. To say that it is tight is stating the obvious. I've had a few of these, and everything else is overall satisfactory, to say the least. It was very slightly spicy, with deeper creamier tones consistent throughout and a few distantly peppery overtones. Overall I rather enjoy it, as I do all of CAO's line (with the exception of the criollo). I would definitely recommend it-- but be sure to buy a few singles before a box to test the draw out. It can prove to be a little tricky.

Bought a box of these after trying a couple singles. Burns good and has great flavor exept most cigars in the box were hard to draw, in fact there were some that were damn near impossible and had to be thrown out. Like the cigar but wouldnt buy another box because of the draw issues.

"Pleasant"
As the title dictates, this was a pleasant cigar, not exquisite, but nice. Since I like a cool smoke and not a hot one, I only snipped about 1/4" off the end to light it, the results were very desirable. A good light with a very even burn, and very creamy. As I went along I noticed this smoke becoming a little hard on the draw so I snipped another 1/8" off, the result was of course more smoke, but it seemed just as tight. This did not bother me too much since I like a nice cool smoke, but I soon realized that I was puffing a lot more often than I usually like to, to keep it properly lit, however, I did not experience a strong tooth on the cigar, which impressed me. Since this was such a tight cigar though I feel I missed out on much of the flavor. I noticed it was far better after taking three large puffs. It was rich and creamy with a slight hint of spice, very slight mind you. This is a beautifully seductive cigar which I will purchase again. I will probably buy a few more individuals to see if I just got an anomalie before I decide to purchase a whole box, which I will probably do. Overall, minus my one issue, this was a good smoke.

Since the tobacco that goes into this cigar comes from many different countries, there are many tastes and flavors that cannot be described in word form. This cigar went really well with a scotch on the rocks, and a fishing pole off the end of the dock.

Its big, its dark, its a CAO. No surprise here. CAO cigars are a enigma. This large smoke, burnt well, made very well, looked great, it is a joy to hold. But the smoking experience was very two dimensional. The Sopranos edition do have more flavour, at a price. But their are so many more exciting smokes around that I wonder if their are a lot of repeat buyers for this MX-2. Box 16 November 2004.

"Shocking"
I am a big fan of CAO and greatly enjoyed the MX2 Robusto, so imagine my surprise when I bit into this one. Great expectation turned to shock and awe. As a maduro smoker I expect strength, however this cigar tasted bitter from the beginning. About halfway through I drew a strong bitter shot, almost like what I used to get from pipes sometimes, and to the end it was painful on the palate. Construction was fine. Draw was fine. Flavor, what happened?

"Had potential for a winner..."
This behemoth cigar started off flavorful and slightly sweet with a fantastic aroma, but toward the middle, lost its taste and turned a little grassy. There was simply little desire to finish off the last 3-4". Built like a tank though. Got it in a sampler, so maybe its a fluke, would try again... if it was free/cheap.

smoked this not long ago. It is probably one of the best maduro cigars Ive ever smoked......ever! The only maduro cigar that might compare to this beauty would be the CAO Brazilia Samba or Ipànema. Very chocolatey basically. Didnt pick up no other overtones...except chocolate...sweet chocolate matter of fact. Truly an unreal cigar in all ways, shapes and forms.

A good looking, well constructed and meaty stick with tons of pleasant flavor. I really enjoyed this cigar, in fact I smoked it down to about 1 inch and hated putting it out. Creamy smoke with taste of peppery spices, some chocolate and a note of tea. A great robust cigar with a good red wine, cognac or a rich amber whiskey. I'll add these to my stock for sure.

The MX2 I had was fabulous! Its sat a little over a 1 1/2 months in more humidor and boy did it have FLAVOR. Chocolate, coffee, and cream flavor was really good. Smooth flavor with a little bit of peppery bite. Good draw, little tight. I can't find them in the city where I live because none of the cigar stores can keep them in stock. NUTS!

"Mx2 Holy Grail!!!"
I am a huge fan of CAO and their maduro cigars. The Mx2 was going to be my Holy Grail, and it was! I have read many reveiws and I also only have 2 other smokers by which I can reference, so I think I am being honest here. The cigar was a Toro and it was perfect. It burned really even and was sooo smooth. I really like a bold and spicy cigar, and I expected it to be worse, but it was so smooth I couldn't believe it! This cigar is wonderful, I highly recommend this cigar to anyone who is a fan of the maduro. Go CAO!!!

"Take a pass"
When I first started smoking this visually appealing cigar, I wondered what those other reviewers where thinking when they wrote about the mx2's harsh taste. And then no more than an inch into the cigar it suddenly became bitter. Then harsh. Then unsmokable. And believe me, after spending $6 on this thing I tried. My friend had the same experience, except he was able to get almost halfway through before it became bitter. This tobacco is simply too young. Try a Brazilia or Extreme from CAO instead.

"Hmmm"
I was really looking forward to this particular one. CAO's never have disappointed me, but...this cigar had all the looks! After lighting it up, I wasnt wowed by the flavor. What kept my attention was the DARK color of the wrapper. It burned well till I reached the last 1/3, and it had a slight bitterness to it. I did buy 5 of them, and plan to let them age a bit and see if that affects the quality of it, I'm sure it will....

This cigar started medium to full with alot of spice for the first half. I was actually enjoying it almost as much as the Samba. But at the half, it changed personalities like it was "that time". It got really nasty tasting and I eventually tossed it after only a few more tries. Stay with the Brazilia or maduro in the CAO brand.

This is the second cigar I have smoked in this line and the first of this size. Just like the Toro construction, draw, and burn were excellent. Flavor was also excellent, rich, complex and smooth all the way to the end. This size was not substantially different in flavor from the Toro and considering the marginal difference in size the toro is the better deal.

"Not worth the hype"
I gave one of these a shot. Overall, not an impressive smoke. I agree with a previous review that the wrapper looks unnaturally dark, as if its been dyed or altered somehow. Construction was good, burn was even, draw was fine and there was plenty of smoke. However, the flavor of the stick was just not pleasant at all. The flavor was harsh, young and had a bit of a chemical taste to it.

"I'm suspicious..."
This had the darkest jet black maduro wrapper I've ever seen. It was so dark, in fact, so different from anything else, I am suspicious there was some artificial nonsense used to get it to look this way. The flavor of the cigar was decent, I suspect it to be way too young straight out of the box. Would not dream of smoking another without at least a year of age, but I'll never know the joy because I won't buy these.

"Welllllll...."
You know, I had forgotten all about this cigar hitting the market. I was looking for a couple of sticks and bought a few of these. The label is COOOOL. From reading some of the reviews, it seems as if the construction is a bit inconsistent. However...mine smoked like a charm. Only one soft spot...and that was minor. It's a nice looking cigar...but knowing the maduro wrapper and binder, I was expecting a lot more. It was very one dimensional. I think the tobacco is a bit young. Not the powerhouse I was expecting. Again...the draw was very nice...lots of nice smoke. Very white ash...but...geez...I suppose I'm a little disappointed. I LOVE CAO, however, so this WILL certainly be tried again.

"Average with a few hints of greatness?"
I kept this in my humidor for nearly three months - maybe I should have given the stick more time? It was okay - one dimensional - sort of a constant flavor of what I would call typical cigar - cedar, charred wood, woody? There were a few hints of softness and possible flavor - they never fully developed. A nice long smoke - It took me nearly an hour and a half to finish it off! The construction was nice - beautiful cigar - I noticed a weaker draw at the beginning of the smoke - I used a match to light the cigar - I wonder whether using a torch lighter would make any difference? Nevertheless, worth a try if you can stomach the price - Final note - on the value category - I rate this category based on whether there are other cigars in this price range that I feel are much better/worse - in this case, I believe you could find sevearl cigars that you would enjoy more for $8.50.

Like most other C.A.O. products, an attractive cigar ruined by a crummy draw. With the exception of the Brazilia line, I've had very little luck with C.A.O.s and this was no exception.
