"update from the Growl"
Ok keep trying here...I read, flawless, dazzled, gorgeous and One of CAO's best. I keep on Keeping on. Aged 6 months. They still look like this should be the best ever...The touch, the fell, the smell, the promise... But it never arrives. I enjoyed them a little more. Good yes...First tier??? maybe but there are much better for the price or less. Italia, Brazilia even JDN Antano.

"Wonder in a Wrapper"
CAO makes great cigars. You'll pay for that of course, but they're generally great. MX2 is currently my pick as the most flavorful for the price paid. Dark, rich, and with well balanced flavor...my credit card calls for mercy. Recommended wholeheartedly.

"Delicious"
Delicious. Robust. It dazzled my tongue with the subtle flavors of spice, sweet chocolate, and hints of coffee. I actually think mine had lost a bit of flavor, because it had dried up a bit due to a humidor malfunction. After re-humidifying, I've heard they lose a bit of flavor. I bought a Figurado of this very same cigar, which has not gone through that unfortunate mishap. I am looking forward to it immensely.

"An Enjoyable Let Down"
I like CAO one of my all time favorite lines, Brazilia, Italia, Soprano even Gold. I like them all. Love the Brazilia and Italia all time favorites. So I was eager to try Mx2 sure to be the BOMB... I could not wait. It was beautiful to behold, lovely to touch, it was prom night all over again. And just like prom night I went home depressed and frustrated. It just didn't put out the way I expected. Great look, Great feel, great taste just not as satisfying as the others. Kinda of like my first wife but this another cigar all together.

"A beautiful cigar...."
This is a gorgeous stick. It has an earthy, almost manure like prelight aroma (and I mean it is a GOOD aroma). The wrapper is a flawless, rich brown color. It is perfectly constructed. Light in feel but firm with a medium draw, it produces copious smoke.
The burn is slow and cool. The body is medium to full. It is peppery and seems to have a lot of nicotine - my tounge and lips were tingly and numb almost immediately but I did not get a "buzz" (which is a good thing in my book). The flavor is slightly sweet and leathery and did not change as I smoked it down. There was a lingering, gingery finish.
This cigar is stronger than my usual preference, but I plan to keep a few of them in the humidor for when I want this kind of rich, slow smoke. The only negative to this cigar is the price - which was more than I prefer to pay.

My first experiance with the Mx2 was very enjoyable. I did find it a little harder to draw than the other CAO's I've tried.

"Interesting Cigar"
I wondered what a cigar with a Maduro wrapper and Maduro filler would be like... and now I know. Really good. Has a sweet flavor and a tad bit mild for my taste. No bitterness but a slight aftertaste. Burned very well all the way through. Excellent construction and just a beautiful, almost black wrapper.

"Pretty Good"
This one had been in my humidor for around two years. While it was probably slightly past its prime, it was still quite enjoyable. It was well constructed and had flavors of chocolate and licorice. All in all, pretty good. I don't think I'll age any more of these quite as long though.

"delicious"
I am a CAO fan; I hope my love of the company in general doesn't prejucide my review in any way.
To begin, this cigar is really beautiful. The beautiful slight sheen od the maduro wrapper is something nice to behold. When you add the great-looking black and silver band, ths cigar is among on of the best-looking cigars made, in my opinion. The cigar I pulled didn't have any big veins in the wrappers, so this one gets an A+ from me in the appearance department.
Pre-light, the cigar drew very well, and I got a nice chololate and spice taste. The wrappers gave off the characteristic sweet foundation I notice from maduro wrappers. The sweetness was not overpowering or particularly pronounced, the taste was there.
As I lit the cigar, I got a delicious dark-chocolate taste, a bit of cream, and a nice spice. Like a great mole sauce without the peanut flavor. This flavor was dominant through the first half of the cigar.
As I hit the mid-point, the cream moved on, mostly, as did the initial chocolate flavor. I priarily got a deep espresso and medium spice througout the rest of the smoke. I was hoping for a bit of licorice, but that never happened. I thought the cigar was medium to full bodied in flavor.
The cigar burned a bit uneven, but that could be my lighting. I accumulated about 2 1/4" of ash prior to the eventual drop. The smoke volume was very good, what you would expect from a good cigar of this ring-gauge.
All-in-all, a great smoke. I would have liked a bit more diversity of flavor, but the flavors that were present were great and pronounced. A year or two in the humi might yeild something more complex. a delicious smoke, and probably the first of many to come of this cigar.

"very goooood"
Very dark, pretty looking wrapper. Mild-Meduim gar it went very well with a Guiness extra stout and a hot tub with my wife. Burned like a champ, slow and even. My wife loved the smell. Chocolately taste with some spice at the back end. Smoked to the nub.....try it in the morning with coffee or in the early afternoon with a tastey beer.

Beautiful dark maduro. Draw, perfect. Flavors, mild chocolate, espresso, smooth leather. Only an uneven burn detracted from this mild to medium cigar. This cigar looks alot stronger than it is.

"Didn't Like it"
First, I have to say that I'm a big CAO fan. The first time I tried it, I was just starting out with cigars. I didn't like it very much. I tried it again recently. Great draw, good construction and a nice even burn. Really a great looking cigar. I really didnt like it. Even the smoke bothered me. I don't want to discourge anyone from trying it, I just didn't like it. I made sure to try it twice before commenting. Maybe it's the double maduro (wrapper and binder). I encountered the same problem with the CX2. While I liked the CAO Cameroon, I didn't like the CX2.
Give it a try and judge for yourself.

"Mild, mellow maduro."
Handsome mild, mellow maduro with solid construction. Flavor profile made up of some occasional mild bursts of cofee and slightly sweet dark chocolate with a side of spice but flavors had little depth to them. I like medium to fringe of full cigars. This was a bit too mellow for me but was a nice change of pace. If you like them mild this is probably for you. However, you can get a Savoy Maduro (made by Ashton) with a similar flavor profile for half the price.
I paid 5.50 for this CAO Mx2.

"Tasty and Mellow"
A real beauty -- an oily dark wrapper promising riches to come. Snipping the cap off reveals a tightly packed roll. Draw is a little tight, but not problematic. Starts out leathery and smooth. Very nice. Burns down one side, but the aroma from the wrapper is so rich and luxurious it hardly matters. A very mellow, rich tasting cigar, good to the nub-- but slightly annoying since it doesn't burn straight-- an aesthetic flaw which mars an otherwise very enjoyable smoke. This MX2 is also an excellent example of how a maduro does not have to be a powerhouse cigar.

"Just decent"
My life really enjoyed it, I don't know but it was something about the flavor profile I just didn't like. Construction was excellent with a some what tighter draw. Burn was near perfect, medium bodied , not particularly spicy. Decent I guess just not to my liking.

"most excellent"
I bought a beautiful MX2 humidor for myself & tried this beauty tonight & fell in love. It started out a bit leathery but developed into a sweet choclately flavor bomb that got creamier as I smoked. It burned & drew flawlessly. A most excellent smoke right to the end. I will stock up my humi with these

"My favorite C.A.O!!"
This dark, oily maduro, starts with a deep chocolate/cocoa taste, while complimenting those flavors with a peppery bite, that transitions into a sweeter, creamier taste. A good looking, well constructed cigar, with a great draw. I like the black wrapper.....its simple, but says, "I'm for real."Great smoke for the price.

"Overkill!"
This cigar looked fantastic, with it's dark, oily wrapper, but the wrapper was too strong, and overwhelming, making it difficult to taste the more subtle flavors of the five-country tobacco filler. All I tasted was the leathery and peppary, spicy wrapper.

"Nasty"
Sorry, but these cigars taste like crap. There is something very artificial about the flavor which only gets worse as you smoke this stick. Suck on an oily rag and you'd probably get about the same flavor.

"An good maduro"
This oily maduro started out robustly cocoa and sweet maduro flavor, and turned a bit milder with toasty notes and medium complexity. The only downside to the otherwise very good burn is the funky flavor that developed at about 3 inches. I noted the same thing in Onyx cigars (which disappeared after a few months in my humidor) and think it's the same problem. I have a bunch of the various sizes now sitting ageing for a long while.

"too overpowering"
a nice oily double maduro wrapper, fantastic construction, flawless draw, and a perfect burn. The taste was very harsh and bitter the 1st inch and then evened out a bit. Fuller bodied but a bit too extreme for my tastes. Could be more balanced. I prefer the Brazilia line. Nice label!

"Nice Cigar"
Looks great, feels great, smells great. Very nice maduro cigar for only $5.50 here in Texas. It had a nice full flavor to it and some spice, just as it should. Only had a couple of small uneven burn problems that were easily fixed with a torch lighter. Overall it was a very nice smoke.

Very nice looking. No draw problems, which is promising from CAO. The smoke itself has a charred flavor that doesnt go away. Not very complex or especially flavorful. The taste is saved by the fact that the finish was smooth and short.

"Oh! full bodied heaven!"
I smoked this at a local smoke shop, it came from a very nice humidor. The wrapper reminds me of the Brazilia, thick and leathery. So I light it up for a plethora of sweet tones. It was chocolate in character and very enjoyable. It smoked evenly through and through. My only complainty is that it was unpleasantly harsh, but I might have taken a stong herf at the time. At any rate I can take it. B+

CAO is back, well maybe. This cigar was very good and reminded me of the old CAO maduros. Its flavor was spicy with hints of coffee, chocolate, pepper and horse radish with and excellent burn and draw. Very nice construction. I will try another to see if the quality is consistent and if it is then this cigar will vault to the top of my list.

This cigar was better than expected. The apperance is great with the super dark wrapper and interesting band. The construction was decent, there were some slight burn problems. Flavor was very good almost as good as the extreme line. This is a good overall value. I paid 5 bucks and could tell little difference between this cigar and its more expensive big brother, the extreme.

"Why?"
This cigar looked very promising,a very dark smooth maduro wrapper, cool band Yada..Yada. It took three cuts from the cap to get any draw! The flavor started out like the Brazillia line spicy and tasty then mellowed out. This would have been a winner if the whole experience wasn't like sucking a golf ball through a garden hose!CAO please get some experienced rollers! The cigars just taste too good to be ruined by bad quality control. What a shame.

"Make mine a double"
"This one will need a generous cut"... words from the gent behind the counter at my local cigar-smokery, channeling the spirit of his dead uncle the Mohel. Like other CAO’s, it is tightly wrapped, and you may have to labor a bit for the first few draws. I was so-so on the CAO L'Anniversaire, and this double Maduro restored my faith in the product. Spice up front, and sweeter toward the end, with a nice medium burn. It was during this smoke that I was told by the shop-keeper that the scent of any cigar magically changes from charming to disgusting the moment a woman makes the transition from girlfriend to wife. If you are about to be married, get one of these and enjoy it quickly.

"not bad"
draw was tight, had to puff hard to keep it going.. flavor was good, i think. From having to puff hard i believed caused some overheat which gave it some harshness. i cant understand why some people say that their new cigars "need time in the humidor". In my opinion, for the money paid it should be well smokable right from the store.

I admit, I smoked this before I should have. but it still turned out quite well. flavor was complex and changed throughout the smoke. Not as smooth as the original maduro, but i dont think thats what they were aiming at. construction was perfect as was the burn. this was a strong cigar...i smoked a serie R right after this and barely even noticed it. my only complaint was that a few puffs in the middle tasted very young...but otherwise very good. some humi time will do tihs cigar well.

This cigar has an appealing dark wrapper and excellent construction. The flavor, however, isn't terribly complex. There's a little bit of a charcoal aftertaste, it's not as smooth as the CAO Maduro. Nevertheless, the flavor is decent, and I wouldn't be opposed to smoking another.

"Pretty good for the money"
From the cool band to the wonderful wrapper, this cigar was a hit. The construction was very good. The burn was pretty straight, and the ash was tight and white. The taste was very complex. Initial notes of cream exploded into an array of cinnamon and black cherry notes finishing with a nice dose of leather on the last 1/3 of the cigar. The overall finish was a touch woody, and it did not linger long. I did not buy a box, but I bought 5 (I got a free hat!!!!).
