"yum"
This cigar is great. I took someone else's advice and took my time with this one. Hey, he was right. I just took a sip every minute or so. and had this in my humidor about a month. This cigar rocks. Wonderful smooth flavor Espcially paying under $4 for it makes it ten times better.

"Very Nice"
I had this cigar for a while before trying it out. I was looking forward to trying it because of the many reviews I had seen. Started a little bitter but very soon turned into a great smoke! About midway through great tastes of cedar and nut developed. I smoked it to the nub.

"HMMM"
Started tangy and bitter. The bitterness was especially harsh at the beginning but became a slight bitterness about 1/2 way through. The bitterness did stay throughout the smoke though and in my opinion interefered with the rest of the flavor. 1/2 way through it became a pretty good cigar. Was not crazy about the after taste. Great construction and burn. Sweet smelling smoke as well. Nice spice if you can get past the bitterness. Did I mention it was bitter???
Maybe my expectations were too high as I heard such wonderful things about it.
For the price I guess it is a good smoke.

"One of the best coronas ever"
One word of caution: this stick is NOT a puffing away type of smoke. It must be sipped for full appreciation, otherwise it turns acidic and harsh. But, if you can smoke it slowly and with patience, it is one of the best cigars I've had in over ten years.

"Good litle smoke"
If you don't have time for a bigger one this one fills the bill. Same great taste in a smaller smoke. The construction has been excellent for the entire box and the flavor is great to boot. This is a very creamy and smooth smoke that makes me want a bigger one.

"Great Cigar"
I'm a fan of Torano, and this cigar is another example of why. Smooth cinnanmony taste, with that classic Cameroon twang to it. Draw was a little tight on this, but the burn was flawless. Not the large volumes of smoke that you would get on a larger ring guage, but a great stick, nonetheless. I would suggest one of the larger sizes to compensate for that one shortcoming. Worth $4.00? Damn right...pick one up and see for yourself.

"good to the last drop"
I've gotten to smoke quite a few cameroons lately, and this is definately my current favorite (and i'm usually a dark cigar kind of guy). Spicy-sweet pre-light smell, no noticable veins, beautiful construction, easy draw, perfect slow burn.
Lots of smoke, spices of cumin, tumeric, and white pepper. Hints of petro and a smoldering fire. No bitterness in this for me, mild bodied but full of those lovely cameroon flavors, creamy, very smooth. Not an espresso, but a latte. Perfect for that sunday morning with the paper. I'm buyin myself a box of these.

"1st try didn't go through, retry"
Well, my first attempt at rating this didn't go through, so here it goes again...
I tried the 1916 Carona for two reasons: it was given a 90+ review by afficianato and it was under 5 bucks (3.85) at the local shop. Now mind you, my tastes are for cool maduros , typically churchills or rothchilds, or mild-to-medium maduros (don't ask why, but examples are padron 3000, romeo y julieta reserve maduro - rothchild. CAO maduro, etc)... but this one just didn't cut it for me. Too bitter with little spiciness, compared to the ginger-red wrapper and cedar wrap expectations. Better than a swisher sweet, i suppose... barely... for taste.
On the positive side, this had the best 'clinging' salt-n-pepper ash I've had in a LONG long time, the burn was slow and perfect, and I had to try to find a veign in the wrapper. The draw was somewhat limited; minimal smoke drawn but potentcy made up for that. My written opinion in my journal says 'like a straw on fire', meaning the smoke was abundant, but I could have puckered less with a lemon than with trying to suck smoke out of this thing. It was ok, but i'm not buying it as a corona again... Perhaps a larger ring will change things? For the price, I can suffer another one 😉

"I must have odd tastes..."
I tried the 1916 Carona for two reasons: it was given a 90+ review by afficianato and it was under 5 bucks at the local shop. Now mind you, my tastes are for churchill maduros or super- smooth sticks (padron 3000, CAO black, CAO maduro, etc)... but this one just didn't cut it for me. Too bitter with little spiciness, compared to the red-tinted wrapper and cedar wrap. Better than a gas station special... barely... for taste. On the positive side, this one had the best salt-n-pepper ash I've had in a LONG long time, the burn was slow and perfect, and I had to try to find a veign in the wrapper... draw was somewhat hindered; minimal smoke drawn but potentcy made up for that. It was ok, but i'm not buying it again...

"Good Corona"
Decent flavor with lots of smoke. Excellent construction. I would like to try some of the larger sizes because I would have enjoyed smoking this one longer.

"great smoke/price value"
Really, is there a bad Torano? I think not. Easy light. Holds ash with even burn. Tight construction. Perfect draw. The cedar packaging makes things start-off a little sweet, but then the pepper kicks-in and stays. A longer finish & bit more of a nicotine hit than other Toranos. One of the better Cameroon wrappers out there, and all this at a great price.

"I enjoyed it."
I found this one to be nice and smooth with a haunting taste of cedar and subtle earth and spiciness. Flavor does stray at the second half, but otherwise a good Saturday night smoke.

"Great for the money!"
Great $4 cigar. Medium, starts with slightly sweet spice and pepper and develops into a gem, smoked it to the nub. Agree the churchhill is the best in this line.

"OK"
Like most Toranos, you cannot find a bad one. The 1916 is very straightforeward; relatively mild with spicy, earthy, coffee and sugar tastes. Maybe not Torano's best, but still a quality, above-average cigar.
Taste does starts to fade a bit 1/2 way down, but that's typical of almost all cigars.
Construction/burn are good. If you are a fan of this brand and haven't tried it yet you should.

"Try a bigger one."
I'd have to say, as much as I love this line, the small size just didn't do it for me. There is a hint of bread/barnyard that I have detected in the bigger ones that wasn't here at all in the corona size. Decent though, for the price.

"Pretty decent, mild smoke"
I'm surprised that there are several reviews that call this a strong smoke. I'd rate it mild-medium, stronger than a Mac, but not much more. Const. ok. The wrapper was dark, toothy and oily. I got some hints of more that never really developed, might try this brand in a larger ring. Draw a tad tight. A sweet tasting smoke, my tastes run more towards peppery spicy, and there was none of that here.

Very nice dark and toothy cameroon wrapper, gave this cigar a pleasing aroma adn flavor. Needs a little time for the blend to mellow out a little.

"It'll take you for a ride"
Very spicy. Be careful you don't exhale too much through your nose at once. It has the same effect as wasabi.

"Kind of rough"
This corona started out too spicey and distintly rough, attacking the back of my throat. It didn't settle down until about the halfway point. Then with about one-third left, it finally smoothed out and blossomed into some richer flavors, predominently coffee and nuts. Draw and burn were okay, but a Padron Delicia is a much better smoke, for less money.

"Smooth but lacking in complexity"
As the title says, it was a very smooth smoke, and a very good burn. Primary flavors were a nice toastiness/nuttiness and a bit of spice, but lacking in dimensionality. For those that prefer a mild/medium cigar and require smoothness, this would be an excellent choice.

"Mild Torano"
This little corona wasn't to bad. It started out with a spicey bite, but after that it faded to a mild smoke. Some hints of nut, leather and a a little cedar but neither flavor was strong, kind of more like a teasing of flavor. Would smoke again.

"A decent cigar"
Bought two of these to try out. This is a decent cigar with nice construction. However it is nothing special and is not near the cigar as the Selecta Reserva Corona. However it is $2.50 less than the selecta. It is a longer smoke lasting well over an hour worth of smoke. Tightly constructed but has a fairly easy draw. Burned evenly but was rather plain without much change of taste throughout the smoke. It was decent and I guess OK for the price.

"Unusual for Torano..."
Torano has typically made the best constructed cigars of any manufacturer, in my opinion. However, this is the first line where I've experienced multiple problems. Especially odd is that construction problems are more common in wide ring gauge cigars than narrow ones like a corona. In any event, if you can get past the burn problems, it's a decent smoke. Let these rest and you'll have a Don Carlos on the cheap.

"Torano doesn't dissapoint"
This cigar has a subtle strength, yet is so smooth. Plenty of smoke and taste. Smoked this one to the nub. A bit lighter than the Cusano Corojo which I also recommend if you like Corojo's.

"Terrific"
A stunningly beautiful cigar with its rich, oily cameroon sheen. Fuller bodied than the 1916 churchill, quite a kicker of a smoke. Flawless construction and burn and tons of smoke. Simply fab.

"Another excellent Torano"
This is a STRONG cigar. I am very picky about strong cigars, finding many of them offensive. However, this one is good. My only complaint is that the flavor doesn't develop significantly through each stage of the smoke. Still, it merits a try.

"Will get better and better."
Picked up a few from my favourite shop together with some torps 1916. Quite a strong smoke, not for starters. I guess that maturing for a while will be even beter and will lose the sharp edges a bit. Everythig was up to Torano standaard. Excelent cigar!
