"Best ever for me"
I am not privileged enough to enjoy a good Habano very often. Finally, I have seen the light. This cigar is blessed with sweet spice flavor and an incredible, almost marijuana-like aroma. Construction is near perfect. A nice white ash accentuates a perfect package. The price though...ouch. Overpriced but WORTH it.

"Not bad, but..."
Don't get me wrong, I like the smoke. It's just lacking some character for me. Reminds me in look and taste of Davidoff. Great size - you really are THE MAN when you are smoking this. Pulls a little too easily for me. I just find that the Lmited Edition Cohiba makes, of which I have smoked many, are a cut above. Nevertheless a fine smoke.

"She's got a great ash"
Just finished one of these beautiful sticks. Predominantly spicy cinammon flavor with the best ash I've ever seen. This cigar seems to have been blended with the ash in mind, it's the whitest I've ever seen, will grow to great lengths, and leaves me gazing at it in wonder and admiration.

This cigar was quite spicy with dominant cinammon notes. A little one dimensional in flavor, it wasn't one that made me hang on until it was buring my fingers.

I've had some 10 Siglo Vi's, but this wasn't one of them - thus I have to say they are a little inconsistent.

A beautiful, best ever draw, this particular stick had an uneven burn.

Beautiful wrapper with a glossy sheen.

Boxed in a beautiful bundle, I got these in Jamaica. Maybe it's psychological, but these babies smoke better in the sub-tropics.

A very fine cigar with the greatest ash I've ever seen.

"Who is we?"
My favorite CC. This guy says "we" are too pretentious. I do not smoke CCs for style, I do it because of the unique flavor of the tobacco. Sorry, but you can't get THAT in a non-CC at half the price. Best complexity of all CCs.

"Couldn't agree more..."
Previous Reviewer is absolutely right. Cohibas seem to be so overhyped, they are overlooked as excellent cigars. Subtracting all the hype, these cigars are phenomenal. My box is from AUG 06 and are at this stage maybe the best box I've ever owned. What most impresses about this cigar is its flavor progression and complexity. Typical Cohiba flavors of vanilla, honey, cream and grass are here, but on another level. Only one out of the box has has a tight draw, marking great consistency for this vitola. About $150 more than most boxes, but absolutely worth every penny.

"Cuban Masterpiece"
Perhaps not the oldest Cuban label, but by almost any account the most well known of the later 20th century. Actually the only "hyped" cuban in that if you were to be seen smoking a stick with the yellow label you had arrived at a certain plateau in life. For a real cigar lover none of this matters a whit, however. What matters is taste and burn quality. Does the Siglo VI deliver is the question? The ones I've smoked undoubtedly do as I can't find a fault from the glorious, almost burnished, sheen on the golden brown wrapper to the fairly long burn with no need for a correction. Though a contridiction in terms: The VI is the silkiest (i.e. smooth) full bodied cigar I think I've ever had the pleasure to smoke. The taste is multi-faceted, very interesting, the ash is gorgeous, and the smoke is plentiful.

I'm going to now have to purchase a full box. I have at least a year of personal humidor aging on these and there is only one left so in effect, even though I only smoke these on special days I will end up smoking my next box mostly without the benefit of that extra aging. I'll be interested to see if they are just as good.

Simply put, a real statement cigar...And I'm talking quality wise because the hype isn't what we as cigar smokers give a "rats" about!

"Worthy of it's Reputation"
I picked up a box of these to smoke annually on my first son's birthday. Found the box during a holiday sale and paid on par with Cuba retail price. My son turned 1 last week so I got to smoke the first of these. WOW!! Now I know what all the hype is about. I have a few other boxes of Cohiba's but the Sig VI's full bodied flavour is definately the best of the bunch. Sure they are expensive but they are worthy of the price for those special occasions. Not sure if I can limit myself to only one a year though. May need to grab another box. Highly recommended for when you want to spoil yourself. Can't wait till these have 5+ years on them.

"Incredible & Incredibly expensive"
I picked up 5 of these in London November 06 and finished the last one after the Superbowl with a very nice cognac. All were perfection in construction and consistency with that beautiful dark gold wrapper they are famous for. Tremendous depth and balance to this wonderful cigar with a creaminess that almost makes you forget the power of this cigar as your palate is bathed in leather, coffee bean and spice. Worthy of its world class status but beyond me for a full box. Stellar but too rich for my wallet as there are too many viable choices that don't make your eyes pop out of your head at the register.

"Great Cigar"
Bought this from a reputable overseas dealer who advertises on this site. Perhaps the smoothest cigar I ever had (Is there such a thing as too smooth)? Flavor was great down to the numb (did I hear roach clip?). The wrapper on the two we smoked became unravelled, but to me flavor should be worth 3 times as many points as Appearance and Construction. Great cigar... little expensive. I'm going to try the Robusto SLRs next.

Buy with caution. Buy this cigar at a reputable shop in either London or Portugal, and you are less likely to get a fake. If you get the real thing, this is a knockout. My first stick was lit up at 10:45 PM in London several yares ago. I think I was still counting dots on the ceiling at 3AM. Talk about a kick. From first light (fine, fine, fine quality) through it's middle (holy cow), and the nub (please let me get one more puff...) this is a killer.

"I dont get it."
I really don’t get is with the hype of this cigar. I have to admit the construction, and appearance were excellent and the smoke was long, smooth and cool, but I buy top price Cubans for flavour and smoking experience which this seemed to lack. It had hints of the typical Cohiba, fresh, nutty, cedar but only at the finish an only in hints. I think the most impressive thing about this cigar is the price their able to charge. In future, for the flavours I’ll take the siglo 2 and for the money I could have any smoke I want.

"Fine cigar but I'll take a Monty #2"
When in Cancun 5 months ago, I picked up this stick, since I'd heard favorable things about it. I had it in the humidor for 3 months and decided to give it a go. I'll be perfectly honest...it's not bad. I think the pre-light aroma is as nice as any cigar I've experienced. My primary reservation is it's price as compared to other cubans I find as enjoyable, or more so. I also found I'm not as fond of the grassiness profile which distinctly emerged about mid-way through. All and all it's quality. I recall paying around $18.00 for it, which appears to be less than the $21.00 average price posted above. Despite that fact, I also purchased Monty #2's at La Casa del Habano in Plaza Flamingo and enoyed them more at $13 each. To each his own, so try them both and you decide?

"Very good smoke"
I tend to agree with the last couple of reviews, a top shelf smoke but a bit over priced. Great looking, great draw and a very distictive Cohiba flavor, creamy with a hint of leather and cedar. Similiar in taste to the Esplandido but more full bodied. To me Cohibas are over priced due to the name, in bigger sticks I much prefer the Lusitania and the Hoya De Monterey Double Corona. Don't get me wrong, very good just over priced, with the money and if I had to choose, I'd go in a different direction.

Thought that I could get a cheaper Cohiba south of the "tortilla curtain". When he brought out the box I thought what a great deal! But then he breaks the "Republica De Cuba" seal, opens it and hands me just 1! I waited about 6 weeks eagerly anticipating pure bliss. However I was left with simply a top shelf smoke. The construction was great, the draw was flawless, the flavor right on, and it stayed lit. But for $25? I could get 3 great non-Cubans for that.

Fairly pricey smoke this one. But man, is it good. I'd be willing to bet the reviewers that tried this in Mexico for $20 got fakes (a.k.a., screwed). I enjoyed this a little more than the Bolivar B.F., probably because the ring size delivers more flavor and it was covered in plume - beautiful. Both great smokes. Thank you Norman, you've got a great shop every cigar enthusiast can enjoy. The value is a little questionable with its price tag, but I will probably buy again.

James was right on about the grassiness or is it earthy or salty? Oh wait loamy. Anywhoo a very good smoke that I thought was just a bit stronger than medium, maybe slightly to the fuller side of medium. Not as strong as I was expecting however. Maybe a tad expensive for what yens get. Neve the less a fine offering and I agree that aging possibilities are exceptional. I guess I'm with that croatan guy.

"One of the Best"
I work at a hotel in Carmel and one of the guests got to talking to me about cigars and offerred me one of these. I couldn't refuse. This was back in November. I just smoked it a couple of days ago and I was truly impressed. The construction is flawless, and the wrapper is smooth as silk. The taste was awesome, complex. The profile did change throughout the smoke ranging from super creamy and cedary to light spice, cinnamon, and leather. I was expecting more power, but it was surprisingly mellow and medium bodied. I was smoking with 2 friends of mine. One rarely smokes, while the other is an occasional smoker. The former loved it and the latter compared it to one of the best he'd had, Davidoff Millenium. I'd love to get my hands on more of these. It's expensive, but well worth it at least once or twice a year. Hopefully I can find a reliable source.

Had one of these sticks today on the porch.. This is what you are looking for in Cuban "refinement"... Taste is extremely complex - changes every 1/4 as you go. Burn was amazing for a cigar of this size - very even and smooth. Smoke content was not overpowering, but neither was the power. I was expecting a bit more, but that is my only issue with this fantastic cigar. Highly recommended!

"Not Just Another Cohiba"
This is by far the best Cohiba in production currently. It is much more refined and balanced than anything else in the entire Cohiba line, yet is has a very nice crescendo of tastes that takes you on a journey. I have smoked almost all top notch Cubans for several years and the Siglo VI has a very special place in my mind. Perfect construction and draw, obviously, heavy smoke yet the most special aspect of the SVI is a very special and uncommon curry note in the last part of the draw. Price should not be a factor when smoking the best of the best.

"??????????"
This was not a bad cigar, but I don't understand the talk about the Cohiba brand. Maybe I just haven't tried the right smokes. The construction on the stick was excellent, I also liked the little tube that it came in. The burn was very even, and the draw was firm, but smooth. I could tell that this was a quality stick, but that's all. The problem was the taste, it was not what I would expect from a smoke that has the reputation that this one does.

"the real deal"
I sometimes wonder when reading a review of a Cuban cigar if the reviewer had a geniune or a fake. I suspect the good reviews were the former and the so so reviews were the latter. If you are wondering, I'm 99.9% sure mine is genuine. Why? Triple cap, dark gray ash, great flavor and construction, purchased from a real cigar store rather than a tourist storefront, ultraviolet tax stamp, geniune band, etc. This is a great cigar. The burn was very even, the flavor was complex and very tasty and I just didn't want to let it go. I have had better Cubans for the money, but once in a while, it is nice to just try one of the best and most revered cigars available. I will definately try again, but will put most of my hard earned money on ISOM Partagas Series No. 4's. or Nic. Padron Exclusivos.

I just finished my third VI and each one has been a disappointment. It's a good cigar, but, to me, nothing special--and no where near worth the price. There are tons of better cubans out there for WAY less money. This one is all hype in my book.

"Cohiba's Siglo VI"
For my friend's birthday I gave him a Siglo VI, so we stopped by a cafe and lit these boys up. I really like the size of this cigar; it allowed for a full lush draw and fit well in the mouth. The burn had an uneven start but was self-correcting further down the smoke. The flavor started out with sweet wood then developed into leather, and coffee. Great way to end a night.

"This is not your Father's Cohiba!"
I have not been a Cohiba fan for quite awhile, have always thought they were overpriced and rated. Now this comes along, and with all of their EL's the Siglo VI is so outstanding, I've become a huge convert in six short months. The size is perfect, the construction, the draw and the burn are as well. Incredable taste for a relatively young cigar, it smacks of coffee and cream, the unbelievably complex tobacco flavors. Now with the stash of Sublimes and EL Dc's, I've got these to add to the best stash I've ever had in my life. Now...paying for them...lol

"among the best and most expensive"
I only recently started smoking these cigars and have only recently started on my second box. Overall it is among the best cigars I have ever smoke. It is consistantly well made. It is a thick cigar. It burns evenly with a rich aroma with cofee, leather and earth flavors. It also starts mild and creamy and has a spicy finish. It is, however, very expensive and is the most expensive box of cigars I have ever purchased. Nevertheless, it is worth the price. I like nearly all of the Cohibas and feel these cigars are their best (as is the Robusto).

"Excellent, but VERY expensive"
A really impressive cigar, but I don't know that I'd pay $30 a smoke for them. From the onset it tasted very "youthful" and was still exciting. Construction and burn were top-of-the-line and the wrapper yields a very sensual aroma before you even light up. Creamy, smooth and robustly rich all at the same time, this cigar was an inspiring balance of Cohiba strength and the subtlties we've come to expect from Cuba's very best. Not as good as the Padron Anny's or Partagas Series D(which both happen to be about $20 less a stick), this is still an awesome cigar that you should at least buy a few of and try.

Mind you, I'm a relatively new cigar smoker (2 yrs.) and even newer to cubans. But I know good habanos and this cigar was one. Good burn and perfect draw to the end. It possessed all the things the other reviewers described: smooth & creamy, great flavor of char, nuts, and others I was too busy enjoying to identify. Smoked it down to about 1-1/2" before we parted. Definitely the best cigar I've ever smoked. A bit expensive, but life's too short. I'm saving up for a box.

"Respectfully disappointed"
After painful efforts to ensure I smoked the real thing - I was left disappointed. The cigar was green - it lacked the depth and rich flavors I associate with Esplendidos. The draw was a bit tight. A beautiful cigar - the tight draw took away from the construction, the flavor was green - thus I hesitate to 'kill' this cigar's rating - however, unlike a green Montecristo, this cigar lacked the hints of greatness that I would expect. The value was typical for a Cohiba - volenti non fit injuria - smoking experience was poor - I actually lit a Montecristo immediately after just to get the taste out of my mouth! With this said, this cigar is better than many others I've tried in the past - with great expectations comes the possibility of great disappointment.

The Original One Two Punch of Cuban cigars are Montecristo No. 2 and Partagas Serie D No. 4. The New One Two Punch are Cohiba Siglo VIs and Cuaba Salamones. I was very fortunate to acqurie a full box of the first release, dated Oct 02. The flavor is awesome. I would have give it a 100 but your point system does not go that high. The Salamone and Canon Shot are my favorite and certainly looking forward to the release of new Montecristo Edmundo, which is also a straight piramide, that should be out later this year.

I thought that the strength profile on this smoke was a bit below the Cohiba curve. the wrapper was excellent and the cap was well made. There was a slight plug down the middle of the cigar, but it wasn't unsmokeable. Overall I liked the flavor profile.
