"Smoking the evidence"
I've been holding onto this one for a few years. A good friend gave me this stick after he went on a journalism assignment in Havana. I've been admiring it as if it were a trophy largemouth mounted on my wall. Finally, I just had to try it.
First off, the feel of the cigar was like holding Excalibur. Solid, smooth and velvety to the touch. The oils stayed on my fingers and there was a nice plume visible in the light. The pre-light aroma reminded me of wheat and oats.
The cigar lit with ease and glowed with an intense orange glow. The burn was slow and the draw easy. The first 1/4 of the cigar was smooth as silk with subtle flavors of nuts and clover honey. The middle portion of the cigar gained power and rallied to an earthy, almost root flavor. The final inch of the cigar again mellowed and took on flavors of wood and leather.
Just an amazing cigar. I would pay the asking price (assuming I could afford it) if I could just get my hands on them. Lets drop the embargo and all have a good smoke!

"Wonderful - gimme more!"
06 in my humi for a year. Beautiful. Great flavours. Aromatic wood, nuts, a nice long finish. Best of Parti and Boli to my taste buds. A superior smoke.

"Waste of money"
This cigar was just plain bad. It was flat, very very mild and offered nothing. I could not finish it. Bought it as a single so I realize this could have just been a bad one but that's the way this one was.

"Outstanding!"
I bought a box (10, May '06) of these when I was Buenos Aires as I had never smoked one. Initially, I was disappointed as the burn was a runaway on one side for the first two I smoked and this absolutely ruined the flavor. I put them in my travel humidor for a couple of days and was very careful on lighting the next 8 and, Oh Yeah! Great cigar. Full bodied and smooth and very complex. Lots of leather and earth. Definitely not for the beginner. Be advised though, it is critical to get the initial lighting of this cigar correct and is quite difficult to get it right if you only have a match or a bic lighter. Once the burn has started correctly, the flavor is perfect. I wish I had at least 10 more.

"My second review of this great cigar."
This is the second review of this cigar that I have posted. I just smoked one last night and was blown away. It's hard to imagine a cigar much better than this one. Even though it's expensive, when you consider it was shipped 1/2 way across the world and back to get to me, and it is still cheaper than some mediocre super-premiums I can buy "legally", I even had to give it good marks for value.
This big, beautiful cigar has only a faint pre-light aroma. It's exquisitely constructed and has a draw that is excellent, a bit on the firm side but that's expected considering the size. The flavor is mild at first and builds to a nice medium strength/body. It is smooth, creamy, leathery. The aroma is reminiscent of burning leaves on a crisp autumn day. The predominate flavor is simply "essence of good tobacco".
A winner.

"Buy one if you find one"
This was one of my favorite cigars. If I could go back I would've bought two boxes. I smoked them all until they burned my lips. Wonderful flavor, great aroma, and the shape is amazing.

"Deep, not cheap"
I liked the flavors of this cigar. I could see this going well with a big steak and dark beer. The burn was great and the flavor consistent. I don't think I could see buying another though for the price.

"Cuaba Salomones"
Excellent cigar with distinctive coffee flavor. Also a hint of chocolate in the last 1/2. Had to remove the wrapper, as cigar too good to toss when smoked to the wrapper.

"bigger is better"
I've had three of these now...the first two had tight draws but good flavor. The third one had a perfect draw and was unbelievable. Flavors of wood and leather in a outstandingly smooth smoke. Loved it for 2.5 hrs.

"Excellent Choice"
I got a box of 25 earlier this month, and I have already smoked half of it. I do have to agree that some do burn unevenly, and the perfect cut is necessary to get a good draw. However once that is achieved the cigar is excellent, smooth and balanced throughout. Next to the Cohiba Sublimes this is my favorite Cuban cigar, and I highly recommend them.

"One of the best"
This is certainly an exceptional cigar. It has an enticing prelight aroma and a beautiful appearance. Some of them burn a bit unevenly though. Medium bodied it has an herbal flavor that is delightful. Only problem is the cost.

"2 Good Hours"
Nice medium bodied cigar that burned perfectly. Not as much smoke as I might have expected with such a large cigar, but the smoke there was had a pleasant nutty flavor. Definitely intrigued me to try the smaller Cuaba sizes, but this was a nice smoke but kinda pricey.

"My new favorite"
I just received a box of salomones in the mail.(box code INL SEP04) After reading all the reviews, I couldn't wait to try one. I was not disappointed. Medium body, smooth and balanced throughout. A beautiful cigar to look at also. Too bad they only come in boxes of 10.

"Becoming a favorite"
I used to ignore the Cuaba line, as it was never one of my favorites. The past couple boxes of Salamones have really begun to change my opinion. I like these, and they keep getting better.

"I said GAWD DAMN"
Wow!!! This is one of my favorite Cigars for many reasons. I've had quite a few Salomones from different years and each one has left me extremely pleased and wanting more. The nice clean rich flavor of this smoke is what really gets me going. This is more of a medium flavored smoke but damn enjoyable, also the length of the stick makes it one to just sit back relax and enjoy. I liked 'em so much the first time I tried them that I immediately went out and bought a few boxes. Excellent Stuff!!

"What a monster"
These are beautifully rolled cigars. However, they tend towards more shipping damage if not protected with bubble pak than parejos. I snipped the head and just admired the skill that went intol rolling this cigar for a few minutes. The pre light draw was easy with nice tobacco character. The cigar lit easily, no burn corrections were needed at all, during the 90 minutes or so this cigar was in my hands. Taste was medium strength, but nice tobacco character. Cigar was purged a couple of times as it got smaller. With the big guage and size, I had a good buzz on when it was finished. I'll be buying more.

"cuaba"
l went to Cuba 2 months ago,l bought 5 sticks of salomones. they were wonderful. When my holiday finished in cuba ,l bought 3 box of salomones. l found my celebration cigar. medium to full bodied. this is a complex cigar. Partagas salomon is more tough than cuaba.this is a little bit mild and smooth. Every serious cigar smokers must try them.

"One of the finest"
I have a special place in my humidor and my heart for this stick. As noted this is a real work of art as far as rolling goes. The blend is full bodied but not too strong. This is a great example of a cuban smoke and I feel the flag ship of cuaba.

"million dollar leaves"
I call this cigar the million dollar stick because it is so rich. First time I smoked it, I was a little disappointed. I was outside on a windy day. Last night I had one watching an Eagles game INDOORS and man, I just just couldn't believe how rich and textured the smoke was. Apparently, you shouldn't smoke one of these on the golf course, because the smoke from this stick is a real treasure. It's not a powerhouse, nor is the complexity superior, so if the winds blowin' you may think there's something missing here. But if you just need a little stogie for your friend while your contemplating the finer things in life, you won't go wrong smoking a fortune.

"wicked good"
this is a pleasure to behold, at first its overwelming for the sheer talent it takes to roll, then, when a company puts its heart and soul (and finest product) into its star, the outcome is pre-determined. the taste is 8.8 in strength, 9.4 in smoothness, 8.6 for burn, and 9.4 for value. it's Hard to find and only comes in a box of ten. if your looking for one cigar to smoke when all others fail, go no further. of the 17 different cubans i own this is the only one i will not share, period.
