"Keeps getting better"
The very first one of these I had was when I had first started smoking cigars. i didnt know what I was doing and I accidentally cut the cap on the wrapper.....needless to say the cigar just kept wanting to unravel on me and I thought it was a poorly constructed cigar. I've had a handful of these since then, and I have to say that I keep getting happier with each puff. I absolutely love the size/shape of this cigar. The long slender box-press and smooth wrapper. Smells great prelight and post light. Nice draw......absolutely perfect burn. A lot of folks talk about the ERDM robusto lineup....those are good too....but I think the rectangulare deserves more attention. It is not quite as complex as the robusto larga I had, but sometimes I like a lowerdimesion and consitent taste to my smokes. Anyways, give these a shot....I love them.

"One word......Unique"
Another top of the shelf for me, unique peppery flavor, its funny how what you had minutes after you smoke a cigar affects the flavor you get, any way one of the best.

"ERDM BLISS"
I have been digging the box cigars lately and want something like the 1926 without the price. It had a tight draw with the same flavor as the robusto; however, I would have preferred a larger gauge. Perhaps a 52. This cigar has lots of potential.

"uninspired"
The appearance is good, but I have had some construction problems with the Ecuadoran wrapper flaking off. The value is good at appx. $3.00 a smoke, but the flavor is not complex at all. It begins as a nice mild to medium nutty taste. And just as I anticipate the symphony to begin...nada! No spice. No complexity. Just a simple, uninspired smoke that I will not buy again. I'll stick with the ERDM Robusto Larga.

"Decent"
A decent smoke for the money. A perfect box-pressed cigar with an EMS wrapper - looked like a bar of milk chocolate. Minimal veins. Seemed overpacked due to its firmness between the thumb and index finger. Easy light. Even burn. Gray-white ash. Started with carmel and nuts, and then transitioned into milky, mild coffee and raw tobacco in the first third. In the middle third, a mild woodiness came through, but so did a bitter/harsh note. A light menthol flavor appeared in the last third. Overall, this mild-to-medium bodied one hour smoke was fairly one-dimensional and average, though it still is a decent smoke for the $. Bought a box on JR 12DOC. Will be gifting most away.

"outstanding"
This is a cigar worth more than I paid. 10.50 a 5pk at jr's, maduro or ems. Let them dry a little if you find the draw too tight. Spicy and woody.

"0-5"
Bought a five pack of these from JR and let them sit in the humidor for about 4 months. Last night I was all fired up to fire one up and BAM, plugged. Second one--plugged, Third: plugged. See where this is going? I ended up throwing the whole fiver away because I couldn't smoke them without giving myself an embolism. This is a shame, too. I haven't had anything that tasted this good in ages. I agree with the previous poster, back to robustos.

"Very good smoke"
Just got a 5-pack from C-Bid and had to have one. I enjoy a number of the El Rey's and this one didn't dissapoint me at all. Excellent burn great flavor, just a wonderful smooth smoke. Hey DietV try keeping all you maduros at 65% humidity. It will corrcet the burn problems, works for me every time on tight rolls.

"Construction issues drop rating"
This has always been a favorite of mine but the last box had significant construction issues.
How many times should you need to "massage" a gigar to improve the draw?

Love everything else about this but I'm switching to the Robusto.

"Another Great ERDM"
Construction is a strong point. It burns evenly as well. If you have smoked ERdM's in the past, the Rectangulares won't disappoint you. The standard enjoyably strong, yet not overpowering flavor is present. The cigar is box-pressed and fits wonderfully into your hand. The value is a steal. Give one of these to your friends and tell them it cost at least $10. I assure you that they will believe you. What a great smoke. I still like the ERDM robusto oscuro the best, but this gives it a run for its money. I also noticed a sweetness to the taste, but not overpowering or unpleasant.

"It delivers"
I prefer larger RG smokes but this feller packs a good punch and is very consistent throughout. Milder than the robusto and larga of this line IMO. Hints of sweetness, an expresso quality medium bodied smoke thats sure to impress. For me it delivers the goods.

"Not bad"
Am I the only one that is tired of shaped cigars? Box press is one thing, but these guys press the cigars like Padron Anny cigars after rolling. I like the taste, the burn was good, but I kep thinking how much better it would be if they just left the dang cigar alone.

"What a deal!"
This cigar is an awesome value at just over $2 a stick from JR. Great construction and smooth draw add to the smokability of this little powerhouse. I recommend the maduro highly. Full flavor cigar with coffee and a hint of pepper. You can't go wrong with this stogie!

"one of the best non-ISOM"
I'm a ERDM fan, the Rectangulares is near the top of the list IMHO. Flavorful, relatively inexpensive- great cigar. Only problem I had was with one box consistantly unraveling during the smoke. I'd rate it worth overlooking.

"A Very Tasty Maduro"
After reading many positive reviews of the ERDM Rectangulares, I ordered a five-pack of both the maduros and naturals from jrcigars.com for only $2.10 a stick. My high rating here is for the maduros, which were much superior to the naturals that rate maybe only 8.2 or so. The naturals were mild to medium in body, nice and consistent, but not terribly remarkable. The maduros were another story altogether, spicy and medium-full at the start, blossoming into the most distinct and delicious toasted espresso flavor I have ever experienced in a cigar. The draw got a little slow midway and the burn needed a little touching up, but these were minor annoyances for the tremendous flavor the maduro delivered right to the nub. These are the perfect size for me, just enough to give a little headrush by the end. And at the JR price, they're a screaming deal! Order up a sampler or the five packs and try them for yourself. You won't be sorry.

These are a cigar smokers cigar, take your pick in Conn. broadleaf maduro or Ecuadoran nat. wrapper both are great in my opinion. A box of 30 is a nice marketing & storage strategy for the long term aging these will continue to shine as the years go by

My everyday smoke is the robusto larga double maduro, so I thought this might be in line with a similar flavor profile. Nope, was I wrong. This cigar looked great, but the flavor was very harsh and one dimentional. Tried to like it, but couldn't.
